Carrentals.com is a scam outfit. Never pay in advance. Read the fine print. I have been traveling and renting cars for 40 years and have never dealt with a more unprofessional or dishonest travel company.

So far, it's a scam. I paid them then had to pay again (2x the amount) at the rental pickup.

Scam, don't rent from there. I just got scammed from them for the last time. Their favorite rental car "agency" that they want to promote is the biggest scammers of all "u-save"

Very very poor customer service. My reservation was lost that I'd already been charged for. I was then forced to rent a vehicle at a "walk-in" rate after both companies were blaming each other fir the lost reservation. I was told by this companies representative I'd receive a refund for the difference in price of my original reservation I'd already been charged and the new reservation, $190. This was November 8. I just received an email informing I would not be receiving a refund. Do not use this company!

Not a scam, but seriously not a good idea. When there's a problem with your rental they blame the rental car company and don't back you at all. The rental car company blames car rentals.com and your left holding the bag

Total scam. Rented a vehicle. Paid in advance. $220.
Rental through Hertz.
Showed up to Hertz early. They refused to release the vehicle because of credit score. Wouldn't even accept the $500 deposit.
Immediately reached out to carrentals. Tried in Ernest for 2 weeks to get in touch with carrentals every way imaginable. A total dead end.
Then disputed charges with my bank. After 2 months, my bank went in favor of carrentals. Seems carrentals only communicates with banks. They certainly make it impossible for a customer to contact them if there's a problem

Definitely a scam! I spoke with customer service and made changes and now they are saying they have no record I spoke with them. But they did have just enough record to charge me the extended day, just not enough record to cancel the insurance like I had asked…
