on 3/11/20It is one of the worst ones out there. If anything goes wrong they refuse any sort of customer service. No refunds, no placements even if the box never arrives.
Scam - they charge you additional shipping costs after ordering that you cannot refuse. I ordered two boxes in April & May and have received neither. TokyoTreat point blank refuse to give refunds/vouchers/ship out new boxes.
Definitely a scam. Unauthorized credit card charges, missing shipments. They may sometimes ship products, but they are not reliable.
The are Scammers! Withdraw money without warning! No refund and non-received item.
It is a legit company you get it every month it's worth it your kids would love it so I recommend this to all of you out there to try something new
Totally legit! We are on our 4th box. Better read your fine print & cancel your plan though if you don't want charged again! And shipping is not free! But not a scam. Quality stuff!
They are a legit company. We are so happy with our box!
There isn't anything about Tokyo Treat that is negative in my honest and humble opinion! Tokyo Treat is absolutely, beyond a shadow of a doubt, 1000% LEGIT! I have nothing but love and adoration for Tokyo Treat
100% legit. Depending on where you live it might take longer to ship to you but I have always received my boxes in a few weeks.
It is a legit company. They send you a box of Japanese treats every month you're subscribed. And they do respond to messages regarding your subscription and any other questions you may have.
Legit. I've received every box so far within the estimated timeframe despite shipping issues caused by COVID-19.
To me it seems that many people don't read the terms and conditions before subscribing. When the company then does what the terms say they will, people start complaining and calling it a scam even though it's their own mistake (not the company's fault).
Not sure but has really shady and illegal business practices
It's a legit company with awesome goodies. Right now it takes a bit to get the boxes because of COVID but you'll get it
It's a legit company... and their customer service is 10/10... I got my answers really fast and they always helped me
Completely Legit! And so worth the money there customer service was great during Covid with updates
They may have started legitimately, but they've since turned into a scam.
Legit, definitely not a scam! The boxes are fun and packed with a nice mix of large and small goodies. Not everything will be to everyone's liking, but half of the fun is trying new things! I have the Premium box subscription, and I'm very happy with it.
What many customers and other responses before me don't seem to understand is that TokyoTreat is a subsciption box. When you sign up, you sign up for a recurring subscription, which means you will be charged again once the pre-paid subscription period has ended (whether that be 1 month, 6 months, or a year). The 1 box being described is the monthly subscription, which means you will be billed and will receive a box every month. When you decide to cancel, you won't be charged after the date of cancellation, but you will still receive any boxes that you have already paid for.
This is how a subscription box service works, and it is not the fault of the company if people don't understand that.
Their terms are clearly explained on the website, and it is the responsibility of the consumer to read the terms and conditions and understand what is being purchased.
International shipping problems have come up due to COVID-19, and TokyoTreat has done a great job in trying to still get boxes out to subscribers and informing everyone about updates. Due to this, the usual shipping methods have become unavailable, and there is nothing the company can really do about that. Additional charges for shipping are necessary, unless you want to go with Surface Mail, which takes 3-4 months. DHL and Priority (still not fast due to backlogs) are options for eligible destinations, but those also come with an additional cost, because they are more expensive shipping methods.
No, I don't work for the company. I am just a subscriber who is very happy with the products and services provided, and I work in customer service for a living.
They are legit as long as you are OK with them unilaterally deciding how much your renewal will cost and you having absolutely zero recourse if they charge you more than you agreed. The "streaks" are a scam, and they will take your money in advance and not ship what you paid for if they feel like it.
Scam. They list an option to order a single box. Then they charge you a second time a month later, before your first product has even arrived.
You cancel the "subscription" you didn't sign up for, but they don't allow you to request a refund of that unauthorized charge, even though they haven't shipped anything to you.
Avoid.
Scam they charge customers without any notice and can't get refunded
A legit company, just with some shady business practices and frequent lost packages for which they take no responsibility
