“I can hear!”

Maud L.

I've been coming here for the last 3 years. They cater to my needs. They check me out, they check the hearing aids out. I've had what I guess 100% success. I can hear. When I have an issue, they take care of it, they bring me in. They check out my device, and it's been very effective! I really thank them for the good service!

“Be careful, from a former employee”

As a former employee of Audiology Island, Just giving some insight. For any patients buying hearing aids for the first time at THIS facility, the service is exceptional in the beginning. It's their way of getting you to buy their hearing aids to meet their monthly quota. After you become an established patient that now OWNS hearing aids from THIS office, your service will start to decrease. For the first 3 MONTHS, your appointment will be labeled as "hearing aid follow up appointments" because for that time period, by law, you have a specific time frame on when you can "try" those hearing aids prior to returning them if happen to not like them which will come with a $350 fee if you choose to do so. AFTER your "3 month follow up appointments" you will now be charged with "service fees" which you will not be informed with PRIOR to buying the hearing aids from them. From that point and going forward, All services done in the office will be out of pocket and not threw your insurance. For example, if your hearing aid needs a volume adjustment because it is either too low or too loud, there is a "service fee". If your hearing aid or dome needs to be cleaned, there is a "service fee". All of which you will NOT be informed prior to buying the hearing aids. An appointment AFTER 3 months can range from $25-185 PER VISIT depending on what you will be coming in for. Which you will be back every 2-4 months. Sometimes sooner if you're having issues with your hearing aids. Once you start coming in after your 3 month "trial period", your service will no longer be the same. Now let's get into your hearing aid WARRANTY. Your hearing aids get a 3 YEAR warranty but in THEIR office, they managed to find a loop hole without you even realizing it. If your hearing aid is UNDER $1,500 per hearing aid, they will say your warranty one 1 year. If your hearing aid is more than $1,500, your warranty will be 2 years. But keep in mind, you are legally given a 3 year warranty and the way they managed to keep you from knowing this is by throwing out the invoice it comes with. So let's just say, your hearing aid has or will be expiring. They will charge you $100 PER hearing aid to extend your warranty for just 1 additional year. Let me inform you how I found this out. An elderly patient was extending her warranty which had expired 6 months prior Because she needed a new receiver and didn't want to pay $150 PER receiver, per hearing aid because they needed to be replaced. So I informed her that she will be spending $100 per hearing aid ($200 total) to extend it for 6 months. Now at this point, the two doctors heard me and spoke amongst one another and then sent the manager Matt to the front desk and told me and the patient that it was ok and they will work things out to extend it longer (because she already had a warranty that NEVER expired which she never knew about). So not only did she spend $200 to extend both hearing aid warranties that NEVER expired but they also charged her $25 fee for doing so. So I made it my mission to contact Signia and Resound (our hearing aid companies) without the two doctors knowing to see what the warranties are for ALL HEARING AIDS and they informed me it was 3 years. The following day Matt the manager approached me and was going over warranties on how we can extend it and not to explain it to the patients if the doctors ok'ed the extension. Then he went on and said if a patient is a third party insurance or Medicaide, they automatically get a 3 year warranty. (That's because third party insurance and medicaide insurance is extremely strict with their warranties and informing the patients of their warranties.) After I made that comment to that specific patient, the doctors made it a mission to critique my work ethics and continued to point out how tidy and overly organized I was. How my organizing was throwing them off and unable to find things. Even though I informed my manager of everything I was doing considering the office was just a mess. I was hired under the circumstances of me being the one to help them organize the office because it needed some TLC. It got to the point I no longer enjoyed working there nor liked working for them. When I voiced my opinions on how I felt, it became a hostile environment and I gave my two week notice which they declined and I packed my stuff up and left immediately. If you do make the choice to purchase hearing aids from this office, just be careful. Be sure to get all the information prior to buying anything. And don't forget to get the invoice from the MANUFACTURER showing the warranty. Not a print out from their office but from the manufacture of the hearing aid. If you do choose to buy from there, be sure to call whichever company your hearing aids are from (signia, resound etc) give your serial numbers from your hearing aid and ask how long your warranty is. This will indeed confirm your 3 year warrant. Not 1 or 2 years. Addition to the warranty, if you lose your hearing aid, you're entitled to one per hearing aid per ear but with a deductible. And if you are having issues with your hearing aid, the hearing aid manufacturer will exchange it for a NEW one for a $25 fee but they are trying to avoid that because they don't make money off of it. Good luck!

I found staff here at Audiology Island to be professional, helpful, and courteous. They addressed all my questions quickly and with a great degree, to my opinion, of professional knowledge and responsiveness. They made the whole exam and follow-up pleasan, and with the least amount of fuss. They recommended a hearing aid, I absolutely love it. I love what it's done to my life, it's really opened up, I didn't realize how much I was missing until I got the hearing aids. And I highly recommend coming to Audiology Island.

I figured I was going insane because I couldn't sleep or read. I came here with a tinnitus complaint. The doctors here are amazing; they knew exactly what was wrong with me. They walked alongside me the whole time, holding my hand. And, as I previously said, I can now read, be in a quiet room, and pray... ahhh. I'm going to sleep now. It's awesome, and I'd suggest Audiology Island and the treatment to everyone. I will recommend it to someone who was looking for it. I do, and I'll keep doing so. Thank you so much, and I am grateful to all of the doctors here.
