Best Buy CinemaNow is another movie site. "Roxio" CinemaNow is partnered with DivX. You can rent or purchase movies and TV shows from the site. No subscription, the site works with credits that you can purchase online from the site or by purchasing credits (on cards like Napster) from Best Buy. Movies watched on your PC use the DivX player, which you have to download and set up an account with. The Xbox uses the RoxioNow powered store on the Xbox. The PS3 can be registered to use the DivX, or the movies have to be burned to a CD or DVD to play them on the PS3. From what I read on the site, the only mobile devices that are capable of playing the movies are the Samsung P2 media player, and just about every Archos tablet/camcorder/media player. Too many Archos devices to list. You can "Browse" the site from your phone, but cannot play the movies. Movie rentals can be downloaded to your compatible device (PC, Xbox, PS3, HDTV, Blu-ray player). Rentals must be viewed within 24 hours of pressing the play button. Rentals can be kept for up to 30 days if you don't press play to start watching it. Movies that are purchased don't expire and can be used on up to 5 different devices. I haven't purchased any movies yet, but there is an extra $1.99 charge (in addition to the credits you use) on your credit card for the download. The site's explanation is "Per the instructions on the Digital Copy insert included with your DVD, there is a $1.99 charge for downloading a digital copy of the DVD you purchased. The download is of the movie only and does not include special features or extra language options and cannot be downloaded without paying the $1.99." I'll keep an eye out for that one when I pick a movie to purchase. The audio and video quality of the rentals is really good, and there is a pretty decent selection of movies to rent and purchase. This will be another site I use if there's a brand new, just came out movie that I can't wait for on Netflix.
Luckily for the most part my movies were all in the Ultraviolet locker so my VUDU account has my movies, but there was a TV I had gotten via Target with eventually merged with Cinemanow that I would like to have... or at least allow my to download it. Actually we all should've received some type of notification early to have had an opportunity to download all our purchases... Even Target sent out emails well in advance of their sale.

I cannot access any of my movies, many of which were purchased for instructional purposes. I am beyond upset, no warning after spending a considerable amount of money on this site. Originally I used Target Ticket and was commuted to this site when they bought out Target Ticket. Some of my videos did not transfer over. That was disappointing but they did give me credit for them. This disappearing act is unacceptable. I received a brief email from my first request for info, it was vague and ambiguous. All subsequent emails just generate an automatic response that is useless.
I just found that I can not retrieve my library collection of movies and tv shows. I had at least a 100+ since joining them back in 2009/10. It's app was available on ps3 and access over your computer what could ever go wrong? With licences purchased with each and every movie and tv show should be transferred to a supported digital movie and tv site app. Vudu doesn't carry all the movies or tv shows. Digital licences are to be transferable. Even if that company goes in the crapper. How do I retrieve them all? Yes a lawsuit is in order. Hundreds of dollars lost of movies and tv shows.
We spent a lot of money and time getting a movie library set up and now it is all gone. Class action lawsuit sounds good to me.
This is absolutely unacceptable! Hundreds of dollars GONE for movies we are no longer able to access! Every time I email I get really shady responses! The last was assuring me they weren't out of business (when I didn't even ask) and they were trying to get the issue fixed! I'm all in for a lawsuit!
150 titles in my library built since 2012 are no longer available to me. I went with cinemanow because of bestbuy affiliation. Average of $15 per movie I got taken for $2250. 00
Nice scam, may you rot for eternity in hell
First Barnes and noble took away nooks, then movies, so we had to change over to cinema now. Not every movie transferred, so we were given credit. Now all of a sudden, cinema now no longer works. Really? And not even let anyone know? Or let us know whats going to happen with our movies? Is this a Trump company? Ill join law suite
Just tried to access my account and couldn't. Some research shows that apparently cinema now is no more. So where are the movies that I've spent hundreds of dollars on? If there is a class action suit against cinema now I will join!
So all my movies are gone, and some good ones too. Had over 10 movies, I'm sure some people had more but all is never more. I myself have no idea nor the money ( cause I've spent them on cinema now movies) to start a suit but willing to join in on a suit. First world problems right?
They send out offers for free rentals, and include an expiration date, but don't say anything about a limit on how many people can use it. So when I tried to redeem the code, I get an error message that it's invalid. Then when I finally read the website, they say the maximum number of people who can use the code have. Fine if you are going to limit it, but tell people in the email so we know.
Please add me to a class action law suit against CinemaNow. Customer service once responded "We are working on it" but now they don't even respond to me queries.
I have about 25 titles that I cannot now access that I paid real money for!
How do we get our money or movies? My daughter and I discussed, at great debate, the perfect movie to watch tonight. We agreed on a movie that we had spent Real Money on for a digital copy years ago on CinemaNow. We no longer have access to our library of movies with CinemaNow. We could have purchased hard copies. Maybe we will in the future. Did CinemaNow destroy customer digital value?
I'm having the same problems that everyone is experiencing: not able to access our movies. It kept saying "cannot reach the cinemanow store, please try again later". This has been going on for 4 months and I want my money or movies back. Barnes and Nobles are no help at all. Count me in on the class action suit

Oh no I was worried about this but I'm extra disappointed now that I see so many people are struggling with the same problem. I wrote them another email and I didn't even get a response this time. I bought a lot of movies in the past 4 years. And I used cinemanow to findmovies I couldn't find anywhere else. This is so sad
The site disappeared and the apps stopped working approx 3 weeks ago. They should have at least allowed us to download our movies. I'd be game for a class action suit... Especially done I had credits left on my account.
Class actio? Im in lost everything. App is no longer even able to be found through samsung tv. *******@gmail.com if anyone starts a class action
Been trying to watch TV shows and movies i bought and CinemaNow
Says the are trying to fix the problem and i think they do not care people lost money! They say their Techs are working on the problem how hard is it to fix i think they really
Do not want to fix it! Can not get anyone that is at the top of the company! They got peoples money and could case less how we feel!
For months I've been unable to watch my movies due to technical issues! Now the app just doesn't work at all. I cannot get ahold of anyone at Cinema Now! Such a waste of money! I'm so irritated. When Target Ticket dissolved they moved my movies to Cinema Now and now I'm just out all the money spent I guess.
I order hundreds of dollar from this company an I can't connect to cinemanow barnes &noblessed no help very upset
Used them for close to four years then they stopped working. Promised via emails for months the "technical issues was being worked on" but I am ready for class action.
Cinema now is no longer working, when I was having trouble, the customer support wouod give me put me/you excuse... that they were working on it.
I cannopt reach anyone, and my movies are gone. I will see if Call Dave can help, it is a local news show that reports things that just don't seem fair, or just.
For the overwhelming majoruty of that sites existence their movies wouldnt play without freezing constantly whether as downloads or as streaming vids then they sold themselves to some company and stole many movies i had paid them for from my film collection... they are crimjnals.as far as im concerned
They need life in Jail, they need to refund everyone ones money Or find a way to to get CinemaNow up and running again this is rediculoos
Stay away... Rented a movie and couldn't finish it because of server issues. Movie was disrupted several times and then stopped playing all together. I kept getting a message to try again later. Tried for excess of an hour, but couldn't recover it.
HD is poor and rentals are expensive.
The quality of the experience is simply not there, they couldn't deliver on the order and the cost is high. Not much more that could get screwed up during a simple movie rental.
