“A Must Have, And Its Free!”

Robert L.
6/15/18

Consumer Reports magazine gives you the latest skinny on virtually anything you could want to buy. Tho they don't really rate things around money, there are some prices so you can pre-shop what you're looking for, already knowing what's best in all the categories that count. There are also reports on bad stuff to watch out for... I just found the fire extinguisher we have posted as being in a recall. For all articles there are buttons that send you to more info about every item written up, plus pertinent info there, such as how and where to claim a replacement for my fire extinguisher. CR is nonprofit, so they ask for donations and to sign up for the paper subscriptions a lot... and there is no search bar... but here's how you deal with that so you can read all this online for free: cr.org/magazine takes you there. Then click the CR logo at the top left. consumerreports.org/cro/index.html is the straight there url. Tho this says index there really is no menu to specific articles, but navigating around is easy enough with all those buttons, and if you click "View Current Issue" you can read the same reports as if you had the monthly paper mag. Love this place And the idea behind it... 5 Stars for Consumer Reports!

“Article are portable air conditions a lot of hot air”

No. This article on their website would suggest that these things don't work that is an outright lie. I've had 1 for 4 years a Delonghi made in Italy it works fantastic. About a $350 purchase all you have to do is venit to your window 6" attachment that they give you with the air condition. Consumer reports used to not be politically based but I guess now they are

When accessing specific items you will find that there is a membership fee. There are free articles that are available. I did find consumersearch.com which is free and by The New York Times... just as good. Only the tecnology review was 11 months, eventhough the suggested is #1 and information was reliable, usefull, and FREE!

I got tired of spending my hard earned money on products and not getting as advertised. Now I do my research in Consumer Reports so that know what Im truly buying and not falling for false claims on the products I purchase.

ConsumerReports gives you great consumer-based rankings of products in various categories. They also give you a comparison of prices of that item at different retailers so that you can find the best deal possible. I just got an air conditioner for $40 less than I was about to pay when I checked their listings!

I use consumer reports all the time for major purchases. Not all the information is available for free. The site does have a pay to use setup that can be frustrating for a non member. Just when you think you find what you are looking for you click a link and that area is a pay area. There is still a lot of good information for free though!
