“Great product and great customer service!”

My experience has been very positive. Dan helped me configure my galley -style outdoor kitchen. Parts, BBQ, warmer, doors were all personally delivered the NEXT day. Took 3 days to put everything together but I had ordered too many parts. I was able to get a hold of Dan via email and phone and had no issue with returning the items. DYIBBQ is a local business and my experience has been very positive! Would buy from him again!

“Just BAD company”

I processed an order for 1100 dollars and after 13 days of hearing nothing I have to chase someone down at the company only to get told... oooppppssss not available. Maybe an email would have been nice. Then I cancel the order only to not get a refund. I was told by the representing Agent that not their problem. Unbelievable bad service, selling expensive items that are not even available. No communication and flat refused to assist with a refund. BBB bound I guess... Be careful with this one.

I tried so hard to make this work. So so hard. Just do not order from them. They have to change. I chose them b/c their website said ships in 2-5 business days and across the nation things are backed up. 2-5 days turned to 5 weeks. The customer service is the absolute worst I have experienced in my life. No response, no answer to phone, email, voicemail.

The product. Honestly its such a shame bc the product is good. But still. Don't do it. I am a competent diy dad who can do electrical, plumbing, framework, ect. If this was IKEA with metal studs it would be/could be so simple. All their online instructions are out dated. The parts arrive mixed in boxes to save them money on shipping not to help the customer. The labels on the actual parts are literally the hardest to read and the worst I have ever seen. Ever. I was missing over 15 items. 15!. So embarrassing. Every transaction is a frustration with them. Every department is a frustration. I wanted to cancel from the moment I started but kept trying to give them a chance.

I literally have drawers that were welded backwards and they wont take ownership. Its actually insane. Don't do it. I implore you. 42 yr old diy dad with medium/high level skills. Don't be tempted. Go somewhere else

I waited to write this review in hopes that they would eventually do the right thing. I placed an order 3 weeks ago and besides getting a confirmation that I placed the order I never heard from them again until I called. Once I called and spoke to Mike things seemed to be moving in a positive manner again - was cooperative and helpful. Part of my order was finally shipped and I have received it. However there are missing items from my order and I have emailed 4 times and called about a half dozen times with no response. I have accepted the fact that I have now lost about $200 since I'm pretty sure I will never see my purchase or get my money back. So at this point besides being unreliable and unprofessional I guess these guys are thieves as well. Enjoy my $200, I hope you choke on it.

Incompetent people working there. If you send an item back expect it to take months to get your refund. It will take multiple calls then you will have to enlist help from your credit card company. They have an extremely low satisfaction rating. There is a reason for it. Beware...

I bought kamado joe iii classic with JOEtisserie Classic. Called several time about shipping info, which was never available. Order tracking had no info as well. After 15 days decided to cancel order. I was told no problem. I will get cancellation notice. Without any communication next thing I heard from yrc(trucking co) about delivery. In good faith we took delivery. I took picture of what truck was delivering. Received one skid with two boxes. What we received was kamado joe iii classic without JOEtisserie. I called them about that and ask for refund on that. Person on phone without finding fact call me thief. I called my credit card co and disputed charge for jotisserie. Do not buy from them on line. It is nightmarish

This is a horrible company. I placed an order over a month ago and never heard from them so I placed an order with another reputable company BBG Guys. There is a difference with online retailers who own product and "dealer" who own nothing, but take your money and send orders in to the manufacturer. They provide no service. They provide no added value and they hurt the real distributor that actually cares about the customer. When I received a tracking number I was surprised so I called in and talked to the owner who has to be one of the worst people I have dealt with. Just to me clear... they took my money over a month ago, never sent ANY update that the item was back ordered and when I call to cancel, this idiot yells at me and tells me he knows how to gain the system with the credit card processor and I I will be charged a restock fee if I cancel.

So... I will gladly keep this item for the sole reason of having the opportunity of telling this story to everyone I can. I want to make sure that any potential customers are aware that DIY BBQ does not have a "real business". They take your order and money... then go out and buy t when and if they can get it shipped, you will receive it. You are better off doing business with a real company that actually has a location, owns inventory and has real customer service staff that care about their customers. This is also a call out to all manufacturers to let you know the importance of dealing with a "real company"

Note to DIY BBW - Enjoy the money you made from me!

I would give a zero if I could. They sold product they never had yet claimed in stock. Got bumped twice in their fulfillment. Each time I called they would give a different excuse, then when they said they received a shipment from their supplier and would fulfill my order they never did. 3 weeks after that their due date came again and went. Called, they said they got a shipment and can fulfill. After I said, I heard that previously and what is the actual date I can receive, he said we can just cancel you. I said enough is enough and fulfilled my order else where with the same product shipping out the same day.

Originally, I had to split my order based on availability between the DIY BBQ and the BBQDEPOT. Both ordered at same time. BBQDEPOT fulfilled in 2 days with amazing customer service. (I would give them a 10). DIY BBQ is a zero. Don't go with the cheapest these days, go with the companies that actually supply the best service and deliver their product. It might cost a few bucks more but wow what a difference.

Check out www.thebbqdepot.com and see and compare. Remember service and quality of company has a value

I spoke to a rep on the phone today regarding ordering a Delta Heat Insulating Jacket. I then placed an online order. The charge went through on my credit card, but then a few hours later I received an email stating they cancelled my order with NO explanation. My account shows no messages. I attempted twice to do an online chat to inquire, but once I gave my order number, the rep never responded. I am at a loss and very disappointed but will now spend my money elsewhere.

The company explains so much about the kit, even list the product will ship in 3-4 days. They even create a complementary account so you can check the status of your order. You will receive an email indicating the order shipped. What they failed to add to the website or any email communication if you upgrade your kit and add a fireplace insert that it will ship separately and could or may ship direct from manufacture. This poses a problem when you order is delivered missing (the insert) and you receive a follow-up email that your order is complete/delivered. How? I dont have everything I ordered, I had to call customer service to find this out, oh and they cant provide tracking details or shipping details if the manufacturer isn't available nor will they share this information. Customer service agents were nice however they could NOT provide any information other than saying you'll have to call back. But DIYBBQ has their payment. So the consumer has to follow-up everyday to get tracking details and or shipping information HOW is this a best practice. The company should this information as a disclaimer on their site, this allows the consumer the ability to make an informed decision. The missing and misleading information is poor business practice..

Tip for consumers:
search for reviews before purchasing .. research to ensure you dont need additional parts they dont tell you unless you ask

I would seriously make sure you do your homework on this company as they are great to deal with until they get your money. After that point your on your own. I had sent them pictures and measurements on my bbq island designs. When they delivered the islands the configurations was completely wrong the bbq was supposed to be on the left side of the island and the had put it in the middle of the island when i followed up i was told to take it apart and reassemble it which is what i paid them for. Then after installing tile on the island we found out that they never framed for the access door cut outs. Basically they had left the opening for the doors but when we went to install the door the cut out was 9 inches to big when we contacted them again i believe the owner DAN decided to blame us for not measuring the openings that he had built with specifications for appliances that we bought from him. We were not even asking him to pay for all of our losses but they take the position that they have nothing to do with the mistake on not framing the door out. I would say NEVER NEVER NEVER give these guys a penny of y our money if you do your in for the headache of your life with ZERO accountability of their work
