Today I purchased a generator from this company. I have not received the item yet but I must give a good review for the person who helped me today over the telephone. His name was Quadri and he was very courteous and thoughtful. The process for ordering was lengthy but he made it much more tolerable. We ordered 2 generators from this company, which claimed to get the generators quickly. We we finally received the shipment, 1 generator was damaged. We did not accept it. The other generator was fine. We received an email notice that a new generator will ship in mid-December. Now we have an email notice that the shipment was cancelled! Trying to talk with customer service. Finally talked with customer service. Reordered generator and was told it will be here mid-December. Fingers crossed.
Bought a #7210 and had it shipped to Texas where I had a freight forwarder set to bring it to my house in Mexico
Here it remains in customs because Electric gen. Direct would not give me tax Id number which is normal and required for me to cross the border with. It is now stuck at border in customs and nothing I can do about it. I have lost thousands of dollars and Elec.gen.direct did not even want to talk to me about it. They just said its my problem. 6/20/23
Ordered generator and with-in 2 days they drafted my account. Generator never arrived. Asked for a refund... It's been 6 weeks... still no refund. Days to respond to emails... hours to get someone on the phone. Worse customer service ever.

Ordered generator and it said 4-7 day delivery. Over week later. No generator, they blame factory. Customer service has no solution or help.

Their website said a generator I wanted was in stock. So I purchased it. They gladly took my $5,000 but then they updated the order to say it wouldn't ship for a month and a half. Just got another email saying it wouldn't ship for 2 more weeks. Don't trust these guys, they are liars.

I reached out to PAYPAL (I paid for the generator using paypal) on May 3rd. Paypal reached out to electric generators direct and they promised they'll have answer for paypal by May 13th. Today May 10th the generator miraculously delivered. I will give another update on the generator itself.
I still think this company is a scam! Customer service is the worst. I dealt with Diane who always says she's sorry and she has no answer for me or Israel who is so rude and isn't quite knowledgeable about the company policies and products.

I purchased a generator from them and every week i'm sent a fedex tracking that doesn't work. Can't get my item up to this day. Called the company and did the chat with an agent and all i get i'm sorry we're looking into it. Fedex told me I need to contact the company because they don't have the item. Contacted the company again and asked for my money back, only to be told there's a return fee. Return fee for something I never received? This is pure madness. They dropped it off at the end of the driveway, rather than bringing it up to the house. How did they expect me to move a 455-pound generator?
They absolutely screwed me over. The generator I bought was supposed to be delivered 12/8. It was then moved to 12/9. It never showed up, but records showed it was at a carrier facility 20 miles away. It wasn't delivered the next day. Or the next. Finally I called the morning of 12/12 telling them to please deliver by end of day 12/13 because I was going out of town on 12/14. They said they couldn't, but would store it for me till I got back in town. The Electric Generators contacted me stating that it was being returned to them and would refund my money, but keep $600 for shipping charges. They claimed I refused the delivery. I highly advise never doing business with them.
I purchased a Generac 2400 Series Home generator from Electric Generators Direct. It was damaged in shipment. Thought it was just superficial with dented exterior. Electric Generators Direct replaced the dented front panel when I contacted them. When the generator was all in place and trial started, there was a problem with a dented shroud that had also been damaged in shipment. Didn't know this until generator placed and started, which was weeks away since it took so long to get someone there to get it hooked up. Electric Generators Direct made it good by sending me out another completely new generator. This company stood by the warranty when Generac Headquarters wouldn't. I totally recommend Electric Generators Direct for their excellent customer service.

They claim to have generators already on order, available faster than ordering from manufacturer.
Once they have full paid order, the estimated delivery changes & changes & changes.
Then when I complain, they offer "bait & switch" ... for same purchase price substitute less reliable generator. These are clowns, avoid if at all possible.
Ordered a Honda 2000 companion set and was shipped the next day.
When you do talk to a Representative about a question, they put you on hold and then line goes dead!
You leave a call back contact # and they hang up when you answer their Call back Very poor! I will not even give them 1 Star.

Bought my genset transfer panel and other accessories from them and they delivered fast and the prices were good.
Have been a long time customer of Electric Generators Direct and they have been a fairly good, reliable company to deal with for many years, however in the most recent months their performance has suffered significantly. They are quick to take my $$, however when they "slide ' the delivery date time and time again and have no remorse, only to. Tell thier long time customers, " if you are unhappy, we'll be happy to cancel your order ". This is a total bunch of B. S. They are looking to cancel the order out of convenience only because they cannot deliver on-time. Being one of the largest Generac resellers in the country, you would believe EGD to accept responsibility for falsely advertising delivery dates. Apparently they don't value their long term customers. This is certainly my last purchase with EGD.

Ordered a transfer switch, their website said it was in stock. Yet the manufacturer and all other resellers were out! Called the next day and customer service said it would go out that day. The next day rolls around and I send an email asking status and the reply I got was "will ship in about 8 weeks"!
So I look up another item I know is nowhere to be found that won't ship from the manufacturer for at least 5 weeks, a Champion generator. The EGD website says backordered but will ship 11/25/20 (a week from today). Champion and other resellers are saying early January to ship. So I contact EGD and ask them about the 11/25 ship date and they INSIST that date is good.
Stay the hell away from these people!
I paid $200, for next day ship and it came three days. They blamed ups and I have a statement from ups they received the shipment late. They are rude and flat out lied and pass the blame. Will dispute with my credit card.

Bought a champion 3400 watt generator for $849.00 and a week later they were on sale for $769.00, when I asked about a price guarantee they basically told me to "F" off.

We bought a generator from them last year, and it sat in our shop for about a month as the job we were using it on wasn't scheduled until then. When we went to use it we found that all of the parts it had come with (including the cold weather start kit) were for a totally different generator. They would not work with this one. We immediately tried to get in touch with the salesman we had bought it from but he was completely unresponsive. We tried calling customer service, also to no avail. Finally we got in touch with Cummins directly and purchased the correct parts from them. We then went back to Electric Generators Direct to return the incorrect parts but because the job had stretched on so long (due to confusion from incorrect parts being sent) it was far past their return time of 30 days. Mind you, we hadn't even been made aware of what parts were sent within 30 days. We went back and forth with them by email and on the phone but they refused to rectify the situation. Our hands were tied on the timing, and there was nothing we could do. We have spent thousands and thousands of dollars with this company (never an issue before this order) and were in a position to give them a lot of business in the future. When you have customers, you should take care of them. You make exceptions to policies when it makes sense to, such as extending the return time when it's due to your own screw-up. They did nothing of the sort. They refused to take back $600 worth of parts THAT THEY SELL and in so doing have lost a very good, long-time customer.
I ordered a Generator from Electric Generators Direct who Unfortunately uses you as there Carrier I was told I would get a call 11/6 telling me when it would be shipped so I can be there on 11/7., 11/6 came and went no call from your Company so I called 11/7 and was told they had no Idea where it was and they call me back so I waited 2 mores days no Call again. So I called and was given the same Scripted response they would check and call me back, So I waited 2 more days and again no phone call.And called a 4th time got the same response that they would put me in the Q for 4th time and get back to me. Under what circumstance is this Customer Service in Any way.The 4 people at your Company were Very Rude to me because I kept asking where my Generator was and No one would Call me back or give me any Information that some who works there is going to help Me.
After your Carrier lost or stole my Generator you have a Jim fellow call me and tell me if I wanted try you again it will be another month or more before get my Purchase or at all. And he Offered me to upgrade from $1,000 Generator to a $2,500 Generator. That's was my only Option I had. So that's the way your Company makes it right, Really that's the Absolute best you're capable of, this is how treat a customer that gave $1,000 and got nothing in return.
I ordered a backup generator to be delivered, I have waited for two different delivery appointments, and now they have just showed up and told me they only deliver to the curb (my driveway is 300ft long... so how am I supposed to get a 650lb generator down the drive on my own... that's why I paid for delivery!) I called Electric Generators Direct and they told me "we only deliver to the curb its on our website" I went back through their website and the purchase flow and there is no mention of this at all... now they want to bill me $500 to return as generator they can't deliver... and they were rude about it. Fortunately I bought it on my Amex so the dispute will be resolved. But save yourself the hassle and buy your generator from a reputable dealer like a Home depot or Costco, not some rinky dink outfit with a website in BFE which is pretty much what this experience would indicate Electric Generators Direct is.
