E-Salon has been my go-to for fantastic hair long before the Pandemic. It's been a game-changer, especially considering the exorbitant salon costs and frequent appointments I used to endure. Their professional-grade products, accompanied by detailed instructions and support, have truly transformed my routine. One impressive feature was the toning mask included in my highlights kit, which not only prevents brassy tones but also doubles as a post-highlight conditioner. Even my colorist was amazed when I mentioned it! The compliments I receive on my color are constant, and it always surprises people when I reveal that I do it myself. The support from my e-Salon colorist has been exceptional; I can ask questions and receive detailed email responses, even with her direct phone number for more personal discussions. Their proactive approach, like calling to confirm orders that might overlap or helping me adjust my auto-ship frequencies, has made the experience incredibly smooth. Plus, temporarily un-enrolling and re-starting is hassle-free since my information is securely stored in my account. I can't sing enough praises for e-Salon - they've earned in me a customer for life!
Then they changed their formula and it doesnt work as well. Then the customer service went downhill. Now you wait 2 months with no response from your colorist after they sent you a formula that was not what you asked for. The last 30 color was worse then any drugstore brand I have ever used and I cant get it changed back because i skipped the order. Nevermind that I skipped the order because I didnt want the same thing again. Save your money and go elsewhere.

While there was nothing wrong with the product itself, where this company lets itself down is with their poor customer service. Like too many British companies, they seem to have absolutely no concept of how decent customer service can actually increase their sales. I paid 11 euros for my initial hair dye, was told nowhere that this was an introductory offer, then when it was time to order the next one, was informed that it would cost 29 euros - so almost 3 times as much. When I commented about this to them, the same people who had been sending me fake friendly emails asking me to tell them what I thought of the colour, were now unresponsive. Truth be known, this should have been an opportunity for someone from their staff to communicate with me, and maybe convince me of why, even at the greater price, their service/product was worth it, but I got nothing. When I commented a second time, basically stating that their lack of communication meant that I would be unlikely to recommend them to a friend, I still got no response. A company with good customer service could have possibly kept me as a customer. Instead, I will never order from this company again.
UPDATE: Possibly because someone from esalon has read this review, I've just today received an email response to the very first message I had sent them 1 1/2 weeks ago, wherein they seem to be taking the advice I wrote in this review above. While their response came a bit too late for me to completely change my opinion, I do appreciate the effort, and have raised my rating from 1 star to 2. Perhaps they'll turn things around. I do hope so, because their overall concept is good if they can make it work.
One of the very bad experiences with this brand. Never thought I would ever say this. I placed my first order but couldn't use it due to health reasons but I realized my next order was also placed with double price along with shipping fee. As soon as I saw that, I canceled my subscribe and raised to customer support for cancelling the order, but their was nobody available either on email, nor on call and I kept trying so I can reach out to someone and my order coukd be canceled. Unfortunately they responded after 2days over my email, stating the order is already shipped and only thing I can do it return once I receive it bearing the reverse shipping charges by myself. With that in mind, I already was charged a £5.99 shipping for the order I wanted to cancel making it a total of £27.99 and if I return that, I would again be paying some £10(approx).
I really felt due to poor customer support from this brand, I have been charged for no reason.
I would never recommend this brand, forget about how the product is, their service is awful.

Hair color from e salon
Since my salon was not seeing clients due to "The Vid" (now back at limited capacity) and I'm not special like Nancy Pelosi, I thought I'd give this a try. While I appreciate the concept, I'm honestly not impressed. Truth be told, it has to be difficult to try and consult clients and estimate hair color through photos and descriptions. Everyone will see/interpret things differently. I had no issues adjusting my color with the colorists (they were pretty patient with me, I'm a particular $#*!), but I'm just not thrilled with how drying and inconsistent the color is. I've done my own hair FOR YEARS prior to seeking out a salon, and even have a couple stylist friends (unfortunately they live far from me) who've educated me on this and that. Never have I had such a patchy outcome than I have with this color. They only offer a liquid color, so that should've been my first clue that this would wreck havoc on my perpetually parched, 2B/C, prone to frizz hair. They do offer add-ons like weekly masques, moisturizing conditioners and shampoos, as well as other styling products (their root lift spray is the best I've tried), and I have the deep repair conditioner... it's ok, but smells divine. I will give them one more shot (going with the three strikes rule); if I'm still "meh", I won't use them again. They're not off to a great 3rd start though, I was informed my order shipped 2wks ago, but I have not received it yet. Last tracking update via USPS was a week ago, I'm not sure who it falls on at this point.
I decided to try eSalon for a change. My first kit came in December and it didn't cover my gray hair. The second kit came and when I mixed it the became very hot then exploded. The mixture got the back splash, my cabinet, and my ceiling.
I can't get refund on the first kit and the instructions they set me to remove the stains didn't work. When I asked to speak a manager (after three phone calls) they told me one wasn't available and they wouldn't take down a message.
Thank you eSalon my kitchen now looks like a homicide scene.
Tried this product, was not overly impressed, poor colour and coverage. Wrote it off as error on my part. Find they have kept my PayPal information and billed it more than twice the original amount for this inferior product. I looked at my PayPal account and find that, without my knowledge or authorization they made it an ongoing purchase which I have now canceled. BEWARE

I wanted an all over color, they e-mailed me and suggested blonde highlights. Mind you. They added only to highlight the grow out. My hair is literally orange and in patches of colors. Sent them an honest review and no response. Going to the salon on Sunday to get it fixed. They should refund me and have t heard a peep from the company. Good news, I get to walk around for a week looking like this! Nice Save your money, I think I paid $50-60 for the kit and with $150 to get it corrected I'm looking at $ 200 and more hair damage.
I'd been going to a hair salon my entire 'gray' life. I'd spend between $150-$200 every 6 weeks. I started using eSalon over a year ago. Not only does my hair turn out exactly as I want it but it's saved me tons of money.
It was cheaper to buy when I first subscribed...like £12. Over the 2 years i've been using it and buying it, it's hiked up in price to £25;plus postage and packaging.
Which is insanely expensive...
Given that I can get a colour at a hairdresser for like £39.
Its okay the colour is okay but definitely not worth this price I'd say it's slightly better than nice and easy but not much it's still full of bleach
When I ran across an ad for eSalon recently, I was intrigued but not convinced that they could actually formulate a custom color that would not only match mine, but also deliver a product that was safe and easy to use. My gosh, was I ever wrong. My daughter came over and painted my roots today, and I'm thrilled with the results. The product perfectly blended with my existing strawberry blonde color, and I know from experience that red tones are tricky to work with. I don't know how the hair color wizards at eSalon do it — and at such a reasonable price! — but I'm a believer. Thank you so very much!

I used it twice and will not be using it any longer. It costs about three times as much as the store-bought color I used to use. Not much different in color quality and made my hair much much drier. I canceled my subscription and will be going back to my previous product.
At least it was easy to cancel…the dye deposited zero color. I tried to used this late at night before a meeting the next day, guess have to use eyeshadow to cover my roots. So angry.

I have used this product for 9 years approximately 20x a year. I know how to dye my hair. I dyed my hair in July the same way I always do. Second bottle of dye seemed warm/hot when I mixed it for the "ends" and exploded all over my bathroom. Hit the wall 9' feet away, stained the wall, my clawfoot tub and my oak flooring. Thank God I had left the room for a minute or it would have probably blown up in my face and blinded me. I contacted eSalon as I researched and saw this is a reoccurring problem with their product. They said all they could do is refund the cost of the kit. No help with repairs. Very cold, computer responses. They know this is happening and are not doing anything to protect their customers.
I was so sick of the dye I was purchasing from a salon. I thought I would try e salon! From the dye custom formula, 2 pairs of gloves, dye color wipes and protective Vaseline like, but so much nicer formula. The instructions were so big and clear, I have vision issues. I appreciate everything they included. I was absolutely floored with the shampoo and conditioner trial sized kind. Worked like moisturizer magic! My natural hair is red,blonde. This color was so fantastic and shiny! Being an older lady, I'm almost 46, I was skeptical. I been dying my hair since going white at 42! WOW, this stuff is great! Just wanted to share the positive results! Hit it out the park! Thanks e salon!

First off... Packaging is the cutest ever. I immediately fell in love with that.
However, instructions to do roots first is wrong. That's only for touch ups for some color. I was going 2 shades up; ends firsts roots last. I put it up on top of my head... Bag it and then blow dry on high heat and then wrap that in a towel to keep the heat in. It has nice amount of ammonia which helps own cuticle and force that dye on the hair. I have grey hair... Mixed in blonde. Lol... I went from dark blonde to medium ash blonde 8.1. After I dye it puts purple shampoo in toweled dry hair for 15 minutes. Amd after that I put revlon conditioner in for 15 minutes and rinse scalp only in cool water.
This product is the best I ever used and better than at the salon. I paid 200 plus... ridiculous. With new job I have no time to shop or go to salon.

Ordered Jan 19, tracking number says it doesn't exist when you track, and they told me they will do nothing until Feb 17? 30 days to get hair dye?
Don't even try it. Such a scam.
After years of using eSalon, I sustained a chemical burn on the surface of my palm. If I had already removed my glove, it probably would have been more than a surface burn. I have been crying worrying that my hair might fall out or break! The remaining color (this is supposed to be mixed with water and applied before rinsing) came out of the bottle like a volcano, and the bottle was hot to the touch.
I don't know what they did to my hair coloring, but I will NEVER use their product again.

Have been ordering color for several years since the pharmacy hair color wasn't covering my grays. I love the color! The co.?'s seemed spot on since I love my brunette hair color with reddish highlights. :)
I ordered color and it was stuck in Orlando for 3 days and not going anywhere. I called customer support and lady stated she would send out another batch priority mail and should have within 2-3 days. I now get notification that I will not receive it till 5 days later. I called again and they stated they only quote business days. Bottom line use a different shipping method. USPS is NOT reliable and your company will be losing money by sending out "free" hair color everytime USPS doesn't deliver.
Tip for consumers:
Allow at least 2 weeks prior to having hair color re touched due to them ONLY using USPS for their shipping. If shipment gets lost like mine has you'll have to wait another 5-10 days.

I've colored my hair many times over the years. I've done my own roots. I've done my own highlights. But, this by far is way way good. I feel like I just stepped out of the salon. I have 22 inch long hair. The shampoo and conditioner after the coloring is absolutely amazing. I would've paid the full price just for the trial size packet of shampoo and conditioner. I use OLAPLEX on my hair to bond a couple of times a month. This time, I did not even have to use my Ola Plex products. My hair was perfectly matched to what I asked. I just don't see why anybody would not use them. I am a forever customer now.

I've been using eSalon to color my naturally blonde hair to a vibrant copper changing up the shades here and there over the last 5 years. I hate going to the salon and spending hours and I've had mediocre results using drugstore box color. I think box color wasn't my jam because I could never get the exact shade I had in my head. Enter eSalon. I had been using a shade of red I really liked but then I saw a television show and fell in love with the actress's hue so I found a pic and updated my shade. I had a little back and forth with the colorist who provided some caveats and things to keep in mind with my new shade as it was much more copper, less red than my last color. It arrived, I used it and it was FANTASTIC!. I just had someone tell me that my hair color is the perfect shade for my skin tone and most people assume it's my natural color. I love that it is a subscription because the notifications of my next order keep me from the worst, procrastinator parts of myself. I'm just a girl who might live with awful roots for way too long than anyone should if not prompted. I've only ever had positive customer service and frankly was shocked to see so many nasty reviews. Maybe eSalon isn't for some. If you haven't dyed your own hair before, maybe stick with going to a salon. ESalon will not make you a professional colorist just because they custom mix the color based on a picture. If you are going from a really dark color, eSalon may not have the peroxide strength you need to lift that many shades safely. Go to a colorist. For me, I'm just a blonde, depositing color and it exceeds expectations every time. I will never go back to drugstore color or waste my time in a salon.

First order, pretty good, 2nd order was absolutely horrendous! No grey coverage, color was totally off from the first. Terrible customer service once I complained. The bottle literally started to explode within 5 min, which did not happen with first order. Not a consistent product. Will never use use this company again. The quality of my hair feels terrible now I am very worried something was seriously wrong with this product that ruined my hair. I have a salon appointment soon to hopefully recover from this disastrous hair product. I'm very experienced at coloring my own hair, this is not something I'm an amateur at so no this was not user error. I have yet to hear back from esalon. DO NOT USE THEM! Just spend the extra money do to a reputable salon!

I recently bought a Tint Rinse from eSalon.com which supposed to reduce unwanted tones and add shine to the hair. I have medium brown hair. I dyed my hair a couple of month ago and now trying to grow my natural color. I wanted to get rid of the rusty red tone in my hair. This shampoo did work. You have to wet your hair smooth the Tint Rinse and leave it on for 3 min. The wash it off. While they recommend to apply it after shampooing i use it as shampoo because it does foam.
The only thing i don't like that it seems like they advertise this tint rinse for all brown hair but that is not how it works. The rinse is dark green which means it will mostly work to eliminate reddish tones. It did not work for me when i balayage my hair and it turned rusty light brown color, lighter than the first time i used the tint rinse. I had to buy a blue shampoo to get rid of that hues.
Also its not very cheap product. One bottle 3.9 fl oz is 15$. They do have sales and free shipping promotions.
The rinse is very liquid and does last long enough for me.
They pack it nicely and ship quickly.
