Ethan Allen

I had a delivery done about a couple weeks ago and the same delivery team came to my house a few months ago as well. The driver stunk really bad of marijuana. The first time he came to my house my wife was there, this time I was there and witnessed it myself. I didn't get his name and his truck had no logos on it but I did manage to get his plates. It was AZ8779. I will also be filing this with the police.

From 1997 to 2000 we purchased king bedpost, dresser, armoire, nightstand, computer desk, chair, baby crib, hand painted armoire, sleigh bed, dining room table, 6 chairs, dining hutch. All were very well made in various woods, designs, and finishes. Fast forward to 2022. I ordered 2 different style upright dressers, 2 nightstands and a 3 drawer dresser. Ethan Allen has really cut corners in the past 25 years. This furniture doesn't even come close in quality and craftsmanship compared to older pieces. Definitely NOT worth paying prices asked by the company. Look elsewhere. These pics are 2022 pieces in Florida.Old furniture in Jersey home. Top drawer doesn't even close properly. 5 star for 1997' to 2000. 3 stars at best for 2022.

We recently spent almost $30K in Ethan Allen, Pasadena on a dining set and two sofas for our new condo.
To make a long story short, the dining tabletop had significant flaws, blemishes, chipped corners and holes filled with putty. Don't fool yourself with in-store samples.
Once they have your money, you are stuck with what you get and no one takes responsibility for what has been delivered to your home.
The accent pillows that came with the sofas did not match our selected material and did not include the surrounding fringes.
Tiffany, the sales lady evidently had not placed the correct order according to our selected material.
Despite sending pictures of our selected material to Greg the manager as well as Tiffany, both of them still refuse to take any responsibility and accept their mistake.
After spending some $30 K in this store, they refuse to even replace $200 worth of pillows
Which the order was placed with wrong specs.
When you are in Ethan Allen, you think you're dealing with a reputable company until the furniture is delivered.
If you're in the market for anything with after-purchase services and warranty, you're better off avoiding Ethan Allen.
Their sales tactics are just like entering car dealerships.
Never again will I or anyone in my extended family shop at Ethan Allen.
Don't give them any of your hard-earned money.
Horrible service, no accountability and their prices are very expensive.
They deserve numerous negative stars, if any star at all.

I understand reviews are subjective based on experience. With that said, when you pay retail personnel 100% commission for "design" services, and it's the end of the month... Let's just say, you might not get the best experience.
Fast forward, when raise your concerns to corporate, which then trickle back down to the retail level you get an instance where feelings are hurt, and the service becomes non-existent, to zero fairly quickly.
Advice-If moving to the Charleston area (1st or 2nd + home) there's plenty of other options than Ethan Allen. Do yourself a favor and explore them.

Lackluster Store "management" and blame game continues.

My wife who is much more diplomatic than me spoke with the store "manager", and she intimated that "if we hadn't purchased the cheaper line of Ethan Allen furniture, we wouldn't have these cushion problems"... blaming the customer is an effective management style they must teach at Ethan Allen I guess. Furniture Issue never resolved...

I implore anyone considering Ethan Allen to reconsider. Instead explore Arhaus or GDC Home... they understand great service and will value your continued business

I bought a sleigh bed in July, 2018. We were in the process of remodeling so did not pay a lot of attention to the bed. When I first dusted it after being covered in plastic due to remodeling, I noticed the bed had not been put together correctly. The upper section had not been put into the end of the headboard all the way. Rough wood was showing. I called Ethan Allen and after much discussion, they sent a person out. He stained the part that was supposed to be inside the edge of the bed, but you can still see it. He stated it was poor workmanship.
I have bought quite a bit of furniture from Ethan Allen and am used to excellent service and quality product. This bed is neither of these.

I have purchased some Ethan Allen pieces throughout the years, a decorative armoire, an ottoman, windsor chairs etc. The armoire and windsor chairs were made outstandingly well. These were purchased 20 years ago as was the ottoman. I would give the chairs and armoire 4 stars and the ottoman covered in leather a 2 star. The leather cracked easily on the ottoman. I do think their furniture was made better 20 years ago. Everything now is pretty much made out of the country. I did look at their rugs but they were pricey (New Zealand wool) compared to what I found on the internet or at Karastan sales. They do have a unique selection. I also inherited a small side table with drawers in cherry or mahogany, a small fabric covered loveseat, cherry dining room table and chairs and some framed art. They were purchased by my parents in the 70s. They have all held up very well but they were probably manufactured in the US. Ethan Allen was a different company then. The company has been sold since the 70s.

If you have unlimited income, you will love this store. The quality is incredible. However, the prices are sky-high. I have an Ethan Allen maple dining room set that is fantastic. The table has two leaves to adjust the length, along with table pads. I have had it over 20 years and it is as sturdy and beautiful as the day I bought it, both the table and the chairs. This will likely be passed down to the next generation or even two; it is that good. But at today's prices, I am unlikely to purchase much more; it is beyond my reach. Their designers are superior. My suggestion is to go into the showroom and look for what you like and get ideas. Then shop elsewhere and find something similar at a more affordable price.

I've purchased many quality pieces from Ethan Allen. For the most part they are crafted well. I have a couple drawers that don't line up perfectly. But you have to stare at them to tell. I really notice it when I open and close them, but aside from that Im pretty pleased. My only other issue with them is trying to customize something. You are very limited to what you can order with each piece. Each piece only comes in a few finishes. For example, when I was purchasing my bedroom pieces I wanted the chest and night tables to match, but this was not possible. They had different finishes for each piece so I had to select the closest I could. I ended up getting a finish on the night tables that was close to the chest, but also a little distressed. It looked more distressed when I received them than the sample I was shown also. As well. I wasn't able to get matching hardware. I even offered to pay extra. I was told that I would have to purchase my own hardware and install it if I wanted it to match. So while I do like my Ethan Allen furniture I have gone somewhere else to furnish my next room. But I still recommend Ethan Allen. They have beautiful fabrics and nice furniture. Be sure to get the furniture that is made here in the USA. I believe they now have other furnishings that are made elsewhere like China and Vietnam.
