SERIOUSLY RUN! Horrible Communication, 100% dishonest, completely untruthful, unknowledge on ABS, huge scammers! Took vehicle there for an ABS issue, was told it was a bad ABS Module by Lance Crist, he claimed he was unable to test ABS Codes for my vehicle. Claimed (3) days later due to the weekend to have thoroughly diagnosed the problem, but NEVER once took off any tires due to NO fingerprints in the caked on Brake Dust! Contacted Better Business Bureau, now Gardner Auto Body is all of a sudden claiming it pulled 4 Codes, when they tested, remembered stated couldnt test for my vehicle! Had vehicle for 6 days! Charged me $204.42, NO PARTS, NO LABOR! Told me price for used ABS Module w/o labor was $640 and new w/o labor was $991. Now claiming in response that it was $500 w/ labor included for used but used part was coming from a Salvage Yard/Co., had a friend go to a Salvage Yard in MO, and found the same ABS Module for my vehicle was exactly $55, that is it, he isnt getting his parts from a Company that actually reconditions old parts! Everything but (1) item in their response to the Better Business Bureau were completely ALL FALSE CLAIMS from the Owners Lance & Octavia Crist the Owners and person(s) I specifically dealt with@ Gardner Auto Body. I personally went and took my vehicle from Gardner Auto Body after 6 days, no work or labor of any kind had been performed! Lance Crist was extremely rude, and had also ordered a wrong-non fitting part, so on top of everything else, along with Lance, getting onto me for calling the part "wrong", since Octavia left a voicemail stating the part ordered was "incorrect", if you look up the word "incorrect" it means "wrong", Lances response was the part "WASNT" wrong it just did NOT fit! Lance, exact words after that in a completely disrespectful, unprofessional manner was "I am NOT God I cannot make none fitting parts fit!" Due to Lances mistake an error in ordering, regardless of his thoughts, I still state Lance ordered the wrong part, because if it was the correct part then it would have fit! But due to his completely LUCKY & BLESSED mistake it was going to take an additional 5 days to get vehicle back on top of the 6 days, hence why I went to pick it up, this is where I am meaning I was lucky! For it was completely a good thing I did because I immediately took my vehicle to Tires Plus at 74th & Metcalf, and GUESS WHAT, SURPRISE! - the ABS Module was in good working order all along, and the code was CO223 - Right Front Hub Assembly. Remember Gardner Auto Body claimed in their response only to the Better Business Bureau, that they pulled up (4) Codes, but here is the thing the (4) codes he is claiming, were never pulled off the memory of all codes thrown and stored in the memory of my vehicles computer, verified all claimed codes of C1222, C1227, P1514, & P1511, were never codes saved in my memory, it was verified to me by several good Mechaincs that just because the Check Engine & Abs Lights are erased and the lights go out on the dash, doesnt mean it is erased from your vehicles computer memory so this helped which was given by Darryl Hulber the Mgr@ Tires Plus, verified exactly all the codes that had been saved in my vehicles computer, and truth be told, Lance Crist@ Gardner Auto Body definitely lied, which we already know he was in our opinion already, due to Lance claiming on the first day of my vehicle in his shop that he didnt have the computer systems to pull the codes from any of my dashlights codes! Lance claimed my Right Front Hub Assembly which Tires Plus found to be exactly the correct problem that needed fixed and the reason for the ABS Light to keep coming on, and yet Lance claimed in his response to the Better Business Bureau, that it tested fine for him. Tires Plus, had my vehicle completely done from beginning to end in less then 2.5hrs, compared to Lances 6 days! Gardner Auto Body, diagnosed 100% WRONG, it is quite apparent Lance was starting with most expensive part, and even put on receipt "MODULE TESTED BAD COULD BE MORE AS WELL NEED TO START WITH THE MODULE THEN PROCEED" after he had replaced the supposed bad ABS Module! Lance Crist, is the Owner, he never returned any of my calls but called (1) time when he needed to tell me his finding of the supposed bad ABS Module and never once gave thorough Follow-ups knowing full well this was explained up front that this was my only means of transportation, and I take care of my disabled brother, and I needed to have transportation! Lance talked to me as if I was ignorant throughout the entire ordeal, and I had NO say, and he was completely in charge, when I stated the disrespect of no followups, or returned phone calls, when I brought this up, his words were, "no, now were are NOT going to be doing this, you can come and get you car NOW!" Glad he did and ordered the wrong part, I opened my eyes, of just how rude and inconsiderate he was being to me and my need for my vehicle, and until I took it to Tires Plus, this is when the full-on sky opened up to verify, he didnt know what he was doing except for trying to get me to pay for parts that were perfectly stil in good working order, and had been wasting my time going without a vehicle and scammed me out of $204.42, for misdiagnosing the real issue to begin with, and after Lance would have replaced the ABS Module, it was then clear that that wasnt going to have fixed my vehicle UNTIL Lance finally discovered it was the RIGHT FRONT HUB ASSEMBLY, what more would he have tried to tell me, I need but didnt until he finally got the issue solved? How much money would I have wasted, and how long would I have had to truthfully go without a vehicle? Like they say things do happen for a reason, luckily this was a good reason, and a great learning method. I am a female, and Lance, was completely disrespectful and talked down to me, so please refrain from EVER going to Gardner Auto Body. The worst part is that I was actually referred to Lances Shop by a friend of Lances parents, and now they cannot say how sorry they are, and are very ashamed and cannot believe how much Lance has let money go to his head, in taking advantage and treating others the way that he does. Lance is all about the $$$$$$. Definitely NOT the customers, especially NEW, Female customers! Tires Plus fixed my ABS Issue and did a full Vehicle Inspection, the ABS Light has NEVER came on even once since service was completed on July 27,2012 by Tires Plus! Lance, was NOT man enough to be honest and openly claim he knows NOTHING about ABS, from the very beginning, so that, I wouldnt waste my time with him and his false claims and could go on to spend my time actually taking it to an honest knowledgeable Mechanic, like Tires Plus! Lets see, 6 days, completely wrong diagnose, charged for bogus diagnoses, which Tires Plus, verified they didnt diagnose anything, because the tires had NOT been taken off at all, and they made their entire response to the Better Business Bureau, entirely all false claims, except for the cost of the new $991 Abs Module by itself -no labor, but now claiming that price included labor. Singing a whole new song on the pricing they originally quoted me. Please go somewhere where they do NOT try to get you to buy parts/labor for issues that are not the issue, go somewhere else for honesty from the beginning and the right service/parts from the very beginning, as well as use of your vehicle. OCtavia, also claimed I called 30 minutes before coming to pickup my vehicle, and wanted Lance to call me back, SO UNTRUE, he had NEVER once returned any of my calls but just 1 compared to the 4-5 times I left messages, and stated I called wanting to pickup my vehicle, came 30 minutes later and was mad at Lance the entire time I was there, I barely spoke any words to them, I just wanted my vehicle back, and wanted to get out of there, they had wasted enough of my time, and I wasnt going to listen to nothing else they had to say. I was NOT there 30 minutes later as Octavia claimed due to I called at exactly 11:10am and didnt arrive for my vehicle until 1:13pm, due to waiting for my sister to come from Overland Park, after getting her things done before heading to Gardner, KS, to take me to go and pickup my vehicle, all that does NOT happen in 30 minutes, especially when she was dealing with gathering her children. My vehicle, which was outside the front of their building sitting in the pickup lot when I got there, was also claimed by Octavia was something I also was supposedly mad because I had "to wait for it to be put back together" I have 4 people that were with me when I picked up my vehicle that can verify and 100% witness all of this was completely false claims, on behalf of Lance & Octavia Crist@ Gardner Auto Body, they were trying to create a vision of them being quite pure and helpful, and respectful and myself, as a completely very disgruntled customer, all not true, and all 4 witnesses would be more then happy to verify their claims as completely false!
