Bought a rode mic from them its been about a year and the mic has just randomly stopped working, i wouldn't have paid £300 for the whole kit it came with if i knew it would be broken so soon, thank you to this site for allowing actual REAL reviews and not the paid for ones gear4music prefers to use on other not trust worthy pilot sites.

i tried to write a review on another site and they had the review flagged and taken down when my experience with them is exactly what i wrote , this company tries to scam customers with positive reviews and put false claims on any negative review, customers deserve honesty

Never had a big problem with them.

I've bought 3 guitars during the years.

One time i got discount for cosmetic issue and once my amp broke.
They didn't want it back, but sent me a new one. (took a while tho).

I like the way it's possible to pay via different ways, but their pricing is higher than some of their competitors.
Even after being gold or platinum member.

Also, their stock might feel slightly limited when looking spare parts.

This all being said, I'll give it a solid 4/5.

Ps. I think they raised their game after some negative user experiences.

Tip for consumers:
Slightly Expensive.
They have different membership levels.
Platinum members get discounts.
Paypal, Klarna & other payment options.
Fast CS (in my case anyway).
They have raised their bar in recent years.
Prices includes Tax in EU.
Shipment from UK storage or Sweden storage.
Their own products are decent.

I bought two (2) basses from them. Both had absolutely horrendous setups. And were unplayable. One I was able to fix (as well as a loose tone control) the other is going back. The first one is a Gear4music and I would not recommend unless you know how to fix and modify instruments (it has bridge that has too narrow a spacing for the neck). The return policy through DHL is a total pain (you have to schedule a pickup and they supposedly have to examine the contents, Moronic).

Tip for consumers:
Both basses I ordered were shipped without anyone paying any attention to their set up or condition. The San Francisco Semi Acoustic Bass was poorly packaged (I was amazed it was not damaged). And the item box looked like this was a return. Return process through DHL is a real pain and convoluted.

I should have read the reviews first. I've chosen this company for promised fast delivery, order shipment notification came in one day, but UPS tracking didn't work. Waited. In didn't work at the date of the scheduled delivery. Called the customer service - the item wasn't shipped, they didn't know where it was and seems no one really cared! Money charged - deal is done. Now I already bought in another store and use the piano. I told them I no longer need it and asked to cancel the order and proceed with the refund. They response is ridiculous: we'll first figure out what's wrong with you order and then HOPEFULLY proceed with your refund or just ship it to you if we find it. Hey guys! I don't need the order anymore, I don't need the shipment, you didn't sell me anything - you just robbed my account for €600. Never ever!

Don't order anything of great value. This company lost a piano, value £2,400, I cancelled the order, since I never received it, yet they are refusing to issue a refund until the piano magically reappears.

Prices seem good but customer service is terrible. I vowed I would never buy from gear4music again after one particular farce and would recommend that anyone who is considering them would think twice. I also have reason to suspect that they sold me a fairly expensive speaker system (which is now fully broken) as new when it was actually B stock. I can't prove anything and having previously done battle with their returns process, I have had to cut my losses. Don't be lured in by their prices, you will pay more in the long run.

Got a Demo unit of a Cort A5 Plus SC bass guitar from gear4music. I bought the bass before reading all the bad reviews. I was worried especially after the tracking number provided by the automated system showed "not found". The positive part is that I had a toll free number that I could call and they did answer all my questions the 2 times I did. The party was very helpful, helped me track the bass, and it arrived in appr 5 days after ordering…. In a hard case.(thankfully) The shipping box was pretty much destroyed, but the hard case kept the bass safe. Bass had zero defects, took adjustment easy, and works as new. And I got it $500 below retail. So, for me, the experience has been a positive one.

Use the toll free number to get your answers. They will answer your call.

DO! NOT! BUY! THERE!

TL;DR: The techs are liars (and frankly, gaping a...), who won't do the bare minimum troubleshooting.
The customer service agents are incompetent and will either not follow up or give you wrong information.

This is a long post and I doubt many people will read it. But if just one person is deterred from buying from these people, it's worth it in my book:

Context:
The product in question is an Orange guitar amp (Rocker 15 Terror); this amp has a "headroom" setting for full power and a "bedroom" setting to throttle the Watt output.
It also has two separate channels you can switch between.
When I bought the amp, I lived in Ireland, but I have since moved to Germany.

Now, grab yourself a cup of coffee, here we go.

Buying the amp and getting it delivered went without a hitch, but after a few months of only using the amp in bedroom setting, the second channel just gave out. There was a signal, but it was insanely quiet even at volume turned to max. Very rarely the volume would come back, but the issue would return within minutes.
I sent in the amp, along with a video demonstrating the issue.

The techs sent me a video showing that the amp worked fine when they plugged it in, and sent the amp bag. When I got it back, I had the same issue. In other words, the techs plugged in the amp once, didn't care about my issue description and told me to go take a hike.

Before sending in the amp a second time, I moved to Germany. (I promise, this will become relevant!).

This time the techs emailed me, saying that they couldn't replicate the issue but that they found one of the tubes to be worn out and this might be the reason for the issue to come and go. Replacing tubes didn't fall under warranty, so I should buy a replacement and change the tube myself.

Remember, these are tubes of an amp that I had been using a few months at reduced Watt output only - the notion of one of them being worn out was insane; but ok, I bought new tubes and replaced them. It didn't help.

Since it was clear that the techs were lying to me, I contacted a local guy who does amp repairs as a side gig. It took him half an hour to figure out that some cable connections to the circuit board had burned out, and the signal was travelling with an actual value of >50 Ohm instead of the target value of 250k Ohm.

So I called support again, explained the issue, and demanded that the amp be repaired at no additional cost to me.

The techs finally fixed the amp, but had the gall to tell me that it was a special favor as the warranty was technically void since a non-certified technician had worked on the amp.

I never got the amp back:

Even though G4M had my German address, even though they had returned it to Germany once before, even though the amp had been collected from Germany, these [expletive here] decided to send the amp to the original Irish billing address. Thankfully, my old house mate was still living there.

Cue a series of at least a dozen[sic!] phone calls where I asked them to set up a collection and arrange it with my old house mate, and customer support doing one of the following:
- not following up at all
- setting up a 3-day collection period at their own whim without telling me or my friend about it
- promising me they would work with DHL so that a specific collection time could be arranged, when they can only contract UPS in Ireland
- promising me that UPS also provide specific collection times, which they don't

At a certain point I asked them to refund me the money and cut their losses with the amp, which they rejected as they could only refund the money if the amp is actually at their warehouse. They also rejected my demands to talk to a supervisor.

I sent an email with the same request and demanded the email to at least be forwarded to a supervisor. As a massive surprise to literally no one, I never heard from a supervisor.

After two months, G4M was finally able to get the amp back to their warehouse. I then received two separate emails from two different people on the same day: One saying that they'd be happy to send the amp to my German address, the other saying that they'd need my account information to wire the refund.

It took another two weeks to finally get my money back.

I think it's also worth mentioning that not once during this whole insanity was I offered any kind of compensation, no partial refund, no discount on my next purchase, nothing. Not that I'd have accepted it - I want to be rid of those people - but it just goes to show how blatantly little they care.

DO! NOT! BUY! FROM! THERE! They will pull your leg til the joints pop.

I ordered a marshall amp. Said they had stock. Then 3 months of excuses as to why no delivery. APRIL TILL AUGUST no amp. Written excuses about covid causing issues. I cancelled 10 days and still no refund. I ordered the same model amp on Amazon 2 days later my son plugged his guitar into a brand new amp. Amazon had 3 dozen in stock. He was Gear4music said supplier was short staffed and back logged. Amazon 2 day.

Avoid. Customer service self righteous. Using suppliers covid short staff lie. Amazon had 3 dozen for £10 cheaper. Free shipping. AVOID AVOID

I had ordered a pedal board for my Brother's birthday in January 2022 (back in mid December 2021) as to this day it has still not been delivered. They are refusing to refund me which is breaking the 2015 consumer rights act which is not acceptable. I had then decided to order through Anderton's which was delivered within 2 days! Obviously they are happy to take my money etc... What a shocking company to deal with. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Customer service and supply of instrument was very good but when I went to get the beginner cello(the black cello as a beginner starter pack) I was told that the bridge was the wrong shape and the bottom fixing for the strings was off centre so would make it harder to tune and play. Having said that for someone who wasn't sure about learning how to play an instrument it was a good start off for me and generally speaking you get what you pay for. Ok product, great customer service :)

The most horrible experience I ever had with a company! A complete fraud!
They convinced me to buy a pair of very expensive headphones and to buy an insurance as well for those headphones, they promised me that the insurance would cover any type of damage and then when the headphones broke after 11 months, they simply refuse to fix them and said the insurance doesn't cover the damage.
The customer service were really rude and I just felt totally deceived.

I sent my keyboard during the warranty repair, and not only they do not help (THEY ASKED 350 POUNDS FOR REPAIR!), but my keyboard was sent back to me with a couple of broken keys and a crack! Eventually, I had to look at what was going on with it myself, I had only to connect the sockets inside of the keyboard together and it works again (As Simple As That) But they damaged my keys (two keys) and it is beyond repairable. They are trying to SCAM people's money with the repair service and the warranty is void from the start. What a hideous company! Please do aware of the website and do not trust them.

Bought a resonator guitar paid by credit card guitar arrived but cracks a long the side of the neck appeared where the frets go in.phone gear 4 music they had it picked up today by ups no recipte left for me but have him on door ring camera scanning bar code on box and taking it to his van

No idea when the new replacement will be sent out.I asked if a new one could be sent out with ups as they pick up the faulty one I was told no

So now I wait and it looks like it will be next week as its may bank holiday
Well this was a first buy for me at 70 and will not be buying of this company again ever

Bought a bundle pack £339. It was unsuitable so all was returned at a cost of £12.49 which I agreed. Only got £237.64 credited to my account and a further £73 and then £15.69 was taken OUT of my account instead of refunded. After numerous emails and telephone calls and sending them screenshots of my account, they still insisted they had refunded the whole amount. Finally I have had to get Amex to start proceedings. Will NEVER use them again.

Disgraceful way of treating customers. They sold me a guitar that was warped and has other defects - for nearly £800 - made me pay for the return and now refuse to give me a refund. Apparently we are out of their 30 day policy which as it was bought for a Xmas present well in advance is a joke. Also being told I'll have to wait up to 2 months to get the broken one back. Just give me a refund, you've taken my money and I want it back. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. And look at the other reviews, seems I am not alone!

I was unhappy with a keyboard stand bought as part of a package deal as it does not securely hold the keyboard which is dangerous for my five year old. I have been told it will cost £6 - £7 to return despite the product being completely unfit for purpose and worth less than £15. I spent over £200 and they won't return. They openly admitted on the phone the stand was far from stable and keyboards would wobble and yet there is no mention of this in the product description. Terrible service dreadful company.

Awful returns policy and trying to receive a refund is a nightmare!
After one month the item developed a fault. After a month with Gear4Music they try and repair it, if that fails the manufacturer repairs it, failing that a new replacement is sent out. A normal operating shop would replace your product with in the year. I returned my product to Gear4music and they had my product for nearly three months! Its taken them 3 months to say yes it's faulty and still trying to get a refund! Their staff are not competent at processing refunds. I had two different staff processing my refund but never did I receive. All you get sent in responce is "I don't know who you spoke to, sorry". Never again am I shopping here!

Go to other shops who will replace your item with in the year like a normal retailer would

Om de svarer på henvendelse i det hele tatt, har de ikke satt seg inn i bestillingen/saken, så da blir det bare tullprat... en bestilling/ett bestillings nr, kan jo sendes fra forskjellige land... avbestillinger blir ignorert uansett hvor rask du er. Ingen refusjon kommer på varer som er avbestilt å ikke sendt... langt mindre de som er returnert... ikke interessert i å rydde opp...

Do not buy from this company. They sold me a what was supposed to be a NEW audio interface and recieved refurbished audio interface where the buttons popped off right out the box! Quick and efficient customer service that promptly tells you there's nothing they can do. CAlling BULL$#*!
