I returned several items and found that weeks later I never received the refund. I had to email customer service who then acknowledged that for some reason they never gave the refund and then promptly issued the return. But who wants to go through that? Check their credit card statements, email, ugh what a pain. I would prefer to give my business to a company that doesnt just let refunds that fail to make it their customer slide.

Love loved my new Christmas coat! It's so comfy but super stylish. Love the versatility of it! It can be layered with so many colors and really brings the outfit together. I had to get a smaller size and the customer service was off the hook! Love talking to real humans who actually care about you and want to make sure you have the best experience! Will def be shopping here again!

The prices are steep which leads you to believe that the quality will deliver. I paid $200 for a purse which I believed to be leather but it is faux at best. Most the clothing in unlined and poorly stitched. They run sales so that you can't return things not because they are actually offering a discount. Customer service is horrible. AVOID AT ALL COSTS - they are featured in a lot of fashion blogs but listen to all of the awful review of this company. A nice website and photographs does not equal a good company.

I recently bought a blush colored blazer, wrap skirt and purse from Genuine People. You know when an article of clothing has a little weight to it due to a nice, quality fabric and lining? THAT. The skirt is perfectly fitted and I get tons of compliments. I'm 5'8" and the flare hits me at the perfect height. The jacket is just as pictured (which can be a tricky color to get right) and I find myself wearing it 100 different ways. So worth it, will buy from them again.

I don't normally write reviews, but after my experience I wanted to give some kudos to Lucy! She was amazing with finding my right size in a coat and skirt. Their sizes can vary but their support team was so helpful they put my mind at ease. Great quality and super unique items. I can't wait to shop again.

I bought a knit set and knit sweater with extra 40% off, which is cheaper than other brands. The design looks lux. The knit material keep you warm but it is not really soft. I think it might be itchy to some. I would give 5 stars for the value.

However, I would give 1 stars for the shipping and customer service. My order took more than a half month to be deleveried. Moreover, they havent replied my email for a week. Aditionally, discounted clothes are not refundable.

Beware to decide your size because their clothes are smaller than other brands, and it takes about 7$ to return. If you want to exchange, the only way is to return then process a new order, which might miss promotion.

I recently purchased a cute turtle neck crop sweater and a pair of slip on heels and couldnt be more pleased! The sweater is cozy, high quality material and fits nicely. The shows are good material and fit true to size. I just found this site and really love their stuff. Its funky, chic and elegant. I also had to return an item and customer service was awesome, professional and efficient! Highly recommend!

I bought 2 sweaters on sale (at $90-100 range) because the material description say wool-acrylic-mohair blend. I was suspicious of sizing so I chose the oversized style. Took 3 weeks for them to arrive, which I expected as they came from China.

The sweaters were warm, but definitely not as stylish as the photos. They were also HORRIBLY itchy and smelled SUPER WEIRD (like gasoline!). The itchiness went away after I soaked them for 3 times. For the smell, I had to use up a bottle of cheap vodka to neutralize, then sprayed them with perfume over and over again until the sweeter scent stuck.

I found this site through an instagram ad, but I regret giving in and making a purchase. I was suspicious of this site as soon as I saw that they ship from China, but it looked legitimate enough to be safe, so I made a purchase anyway. The item looked as pictured, but literally all the buttons came unstitched when I tried the item on (and I definitely didn't overstretch it or anything). It was bizarre, I'm not sure how no one in quality control caught that -- or perhaps there is no quality control. I emailed immediately and explained the situation, and they were only able to offer me store credit in exchange for the bad item. As I'm looking for something to use the store credit on, the site looks more and more sketchy to me. They have exact knock offs of items from other retailers (i. E. Free People trapeze slip -- also the fact that they're called "Genuine People" is weird), which I would think wouldn't be allowed, but perhaps it hasn't been caught yet. The lack of reviews for items is a red flag as well. Shipping is slow, as mentioned by others, but I wouldn't mind this if the items were of high quality. Overall, I wouldn't bother with this site, better safe than sorry.

I found this website randomly but gave it a chance because I didn't find any bad reviews for it, the website design looked promising, the prices seemed fair, AND there was a 30% off deal for your first purchase. I'll say this: two of the items I got were very cute and I loved them. The problem really was not with the items, but there are a few things I wish I had known before buying from them. Yes, it's my fault for not looking into this, but I think the policies are pretty crazy so I want to make sure that other people know.

Here are some things I wish I knew before purchasing from genuine-people.com

1. They shipped from China. I should've looked in to this; I never buy internationally because the fees are larger (at least return fees), it takes more time, and sadly, you're often ripped off (though I don't believe this is a scam site).

2. I did not get a packing slip or any sort of order form type document with my package. Of course I had a confirmation email, but I always like to get a packing slip because then I have physical proof in case there's a mix up.

3. *****The return policy.***** Oh man this is strange. First of all, you have to email them and ask for a return authorization number for your purchases. I did this yesterday and I'm still waiting for a response (which is not unreasonable), so if I can I will update on how long this process took. I just found it strange, as I've never done it before (and perhaps this is a small company, that would be the only thing that makes sense). You pay for your return fees; that can be pretty standard, but just know that you won't get a return label. THIS IS A BIG ONE: they take a 15% "reshelving fee" from your refund... that's something I really wish I had known before.

4. Also returns related: any sale items are only available for store credit. Should've looked in to this before I bought a $70 dress that ended up being way too short to be a dress (and I'm 5'4").

5. I purchased a kaftan dress and received the wrong item. When I checked the website (about the return policy, again), I realized that the dress I wanted and the dress I received (two different dresses) had the same name, so of course there was a mix up. Actually, it was different by one word, "multi," but every other word was the same and I can see where they confused them. I think it would be wiser for them to come up with different names to avoid the confusion.

I purchased a tan coat after Christmas. The quality is great and it goes really well with almost any outfit. Very satisfied with the purchase and not to mention their customer service! Every staff that I connected was very nice and I would definitely do more shopping with them. Highly recommended!

Please save yourself from purchasing anything from this website. They claim that they are based in CA but I believe they are actually based in China. Purchased a Pink Blouse on SALE for almost $90 when I opened the bag I was baffled. The quality of the item is HORRIBLE. I could have bought a blouse from H&M for much much better quality and price. It is almost unwearable. Do not believe the pictures, they are deceiving.

I ordered the black round leather bag with shoulder strap and a white dress. I love the bag but I realized that in the picture on the website it has a silver zipper and hardware and it zips in the middle. The one I received has a GOLD zipper and it opens differently than the one shown. It opens like the silver metallic round purse that is on the site. I really love the bag and am going to keep it despite not being a gold person.

The white chiffon dress is made strangely... the seam is in the middle from instead of the back. Also the neck tie that it came with looks nothing like it does in the picture. They look like little flags. I want to return the dress but seeing as I bought it on sale and there is a restocking fee and I can only get store credit, I am on the fence.

I wouldn't order from them again because the clothes seems cheaply made and you might not get what you ordered.

I ordered an item and was not notified that it would be coming from China until I paid for the item. I placed the order at the beginning of February and cancelled my order within minutes of placing it, because it would not be shipped in time. I'm still waiting for my refund. They claim that they've refunded my money and yet it's almost 30 days later and I'm still waiting for my refund. Poor customer service! Will never order from them again

This website is a scam, I waisted 200 bucks on a dress I stalked for months & it turned out to be totally unwearable. The fabric was thin polyester, all the details, including metals uses in the garment feel cheap. I was extremely disappointed. Zara quality at ten times the price.

Saw this site through social media and really loved the look of one of their coats, so I waited a bit and it ended up actually going on sale! Score, right? Wrong. For the huge amount I still had to pay POST sale discount, this was a huge fail in all aspects. It took forever for the item to be shipped, even longer for it to arrive. When it finally did arrive I was shocked to see how poor quality of an item I had ordered. The item looks cheap in every aspect, the material, the stitching, the hardware everything was off and cheap. Im furious because I didnt even pay full price for the item. Based on the other reviews this is not out of the ordinary! Never again, do not recommend!

I bought a sweater from Genuine People (GP) last month and wasn't too sure what size would work best for me. Fortunately, GP is one of the only online clothing brands I have found on Instagram that has an actual telephone customer service line. I gave them a call and they helped me decide on what size would work best for myself! It fits wonderfully thanks to their help and input!

My daughter gifted me with a beautiful cashmere coat for xmas! I had to return it because it was too large! They had a real person in customer service and she was soo helpful and professional! I am now a big fan of Genuine People and will definitely recommend this online company to my friends!

I was so happy with my experience with Genuine People. I have been looking for a wool coat for awhile now and I found so many great options on their site. They were very patient with me as I was indecisive at first but I landed on a beautiful coat and I get compliments on it wherever I go. I really appreciate their customer service and personal touch, I look forward to buying another item soon!

I have been waiting for my package for more than 15 days, and I still haven't received it. I tried to contact customer service, and only get an automated message without any solutions or information provided. Definitely the worst customer service and shipping service ever!

I'v made five purchases from Genuine People over the past year and time and again was very impressed by the quality, style, and level of customer service.
My last purchase was a bit frustrating since I purchased a pre order item that was kept being pushed back in production, so instead of waiting 14 days for my item to ship I had to wait about a month. Once ready to ship Genuine People upgraded my order to overnight shipping, which was super thoughtful. I finally received my purchase and it was well worth the wait! The quality is fantastic, size and fit is exactly as described. I've been wearing my leggings to work, yoga and on the weekends, so versatile! Thanks Genuine People I look forward to shopping with you again!

Purchased a silk dress to wear on NYE. They expedited my shipping free of charge which was so nice. Love the dress, it is so elegant and extremely flattering, and I received compliments all night. Will definitely be purchasing again!

They don't advertise the return policy, basically you can only get a credit if you buy something on sale, which is almost everything. Clothes are cheap and I've seen the same stuff on other sites for way less money. I just used my credit and will never buy from
