“Will remain a customer on GiffGaff”

Graeme J.
3/14/23

Bit of a hiccup yesterday trying to top up my phone… dealt with almost instantly and given a refund for the issues I had experienced. I came to GiffGaff back in 2016. If I've ever had an issue it's always been dealt with in a reasonable time compared to providers where I've paid almost double plus the extra for a phone. This is why I will continue remaining a customer for GG.

“Terrible customer service”

Worst company ever to deal with. Ordered a phone and their courier messed up the order. Giffgaff did nothing to help recover the phone. Raised a complaint to giffgaff they ignore it. Their T&C's were never adhered to. Only way to contact them is via their own online messaging service which again THEY IGNORE 95% of the time. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND GIFFGAFF FOR ANYTHING, BECAUSE IF YOU HAVE A COMPALONT THEY DONT CARE AND WONT RESPOND

This is my third refurbished phone off Giffgaff and this time my 11 year old autistic son was chuffed to bits to be getting his first phone. On opening Giffgaff he found that Giffgaff had sent the wrong coloured phone which resulted in my son loosing his cool and trashing our house. Thanks to some moron in supply who couldnt tell the difference between white and black. In mitigation our customer service agent was really good but why do you allow yourselves to so dramatically shoot yourselves in the foot. Better quality control in your refurb supply team might be a good idea?

Had a problem recently, intermittently not able to make or receive calls. 6 other people in the vicinity experiencing the same problem.
1.To start with only way of communicating with giff gaff through their message thread. Not able to phone them. 2. Different agents repeatedly telling us to try another phone with existing sim or change sim. So they think 7 phones or sims are faulty!.Deny there is a problem with mast, then admit there is.
3. Dont read what you say in threads, just repeat generic answers.
4.Totally ignore when advised of facebook community thread talking of mast problem in the area.
5. Then say mast problem is not their responsibility, despite them being the network provider.
6 VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. Happy for you to pay, then dont want to know if there is a problem. UNPROFESSIONAL in their dealings with customers

Giffgaff is honestly one of the best mobile networks that I have been with for a long time. I have been with them for just over three years and I am very happy and satisfied with them. They have very good deals that range from £5 to £20 (It's currently going for £18 at the moment).

Giffgaff have something called "Goodybags" which will give you a mixture of minutes, texts and internet, but all of them includes free minutes and texts from giffgaff to giffgaff which last around a few months until you top up again. If you are that type of person who is more interested in data rather than minutes or texts, you can get something called a "Gigabag" which only include £5 for 500mb and £7.50 for 1gb.

You also have the freedom to change your top-up at anytime like topping up your giffgaff balance every month or changing your goodybag at anytime. If you are running low on mintues, texts or data, just simply top up, choose your goodybag and it will discard your previous goodybag for your current one.

You also get something on giffgaff that I have not seen before on other mobile websites, which is called "Payback". What this does is that you recommend giffgaff to your friends and family or even help your fellow members in our forums and they will give you payback points twice a year (June and December, I think).

You can do it by sending SIMs to your friends or family, share your personalised sim order page, recommend friends with your order name or even help out giffgaff members. It is that easy.

The giffgaff community is a wonderful place to be, whether if you are looking for tips or tricks or if you are stuck on a subject, they will always try and find different ways to help you. You can also keep up on the latest news and announcements, look for help and support, keeping up with service updates, write your own blogs or read reviews.

I would definitely recommend either a friend or a relative to giffgaff, mostly because of the great deals that they have on offer and they have a great community to help out with your problems.

I've used giffgaff in the past. The coverage was good, but everything else suffered to an extent. Calls were okay, when you could make one. There were times I had 4 bars signal on my phone, but couldn't make a call. Same with data... full bars and the slowest speed I have ever seen on a network. Imagine using google maps on your phone for satnav and the map stops updating. You have full bars, but literally a blank map screen! It's hit and miss. From what I hear, O2, the operator that carries giffgaff, throttles data and calls to all other network operators that use their network. It's a very inexpensive network, but what good is being inexpensive when you can't even make a call?

Tip for consumers:
Go with a service that doesn't use O2. O2 throttles data and phone calls. Apparently their network doesn't have the capacity to handle all of the subscribers. NEVER port your number without trying the service first. Get the SIM, activate it and test the service with whatever number they give you. If it's acceptable, then port your number. It's much more difficult to port your number, then have to port it back if the service isn't good.

I used giffgaff for about three months. It was frustrating and annoying to have full signal, but no connection half of the time

Data is slow or not working at all,did all possible settings, used even other phone,as I thought it could be problem with my phone, but no,other phone is exactly the same, very slow or no data at all.

Tip for consumers:
I was using Giffgaff for more then 6 years, but have to switch now to another network,as I can't use data on GiffGaff, and it's just frustrating.

After this goodybag finished,I'll switch to Voxi, ordered a new Voxi sim.

Leaving giff gaff worst company ever, deliberately don't inform you when their stealing extortion amounts of money charging you per mb, at like 1 pound. Next thing you know comes to the end of the day, you go to buy a goodie bag and your 35 pound is gone. Used up in a day. Absolutely shocking. Their good company out their now and one that gives 500 mb for 20 quid. Per month. Even giff gaff won't give you the 100 gb goodie bag, Penalised you with only 80gb for the same 20 quid, but because you want to top up buying a top up with cash. So no bank account and your penalised. All because they want your card details so they can scam money off you once you use the data allowance. But not tell you you've used it up.

Don't just add credit, you must select an actual goodybag, otherwise a couple hundred mb of data will burn through £15 of credit

Disaster! The worst phone experience I have ever had. BUYER BEWARE. I activated my sim, ported my number and 24 hrs later and still 'no network'. I try to contact customer service and I receive a pop up that sim registrations are delayed. I had to travel overseas and sim registration cannot occur if you are out of country! So now I have no working giffgaff sim, and soon my number will be ported to an unregistered sim! There is no phone number to contact customer service, and no one is replying to my emails. This is such a joke. I am now overseas with no functioning mobile number. Not to mention that I have applied for hundreds of jobs so prospective employers cannot contact me.

If I could give this company a 0 I would. I purchased a sim card and topped up £20 after registering. My phone is new and unlocked. It said on my phone the above has been accepted including that I have 9GB of internet but I never got any service. Apart for five minutes three weeks after registering. I left messages on the forum and suggestions by members did not resolve my problem. They have no customer service where you can phone and talk to anybody. In the end, I had to give up trying to solve the problem of why I had paid £20 and was unable to make calls, texts and had no internet. I bought Lycamobile at 6gb for £15 per month. I had problems with them for a couple of days as well and it was impossible to try and reach them as they dont answer but after 3 days the service was working. Do yourself a favour and do not buy Giff Gaff. After I paid that £20 I started to learn I am just the next person who they have stole money off. Read their forums and talk to your friends and their mates.

Blocked my account after three days for no reason and refused to tell me why, saying I already knew. Had to pay another £10 activation in order to get a new one, which was barred because it was a second account!
