“IIFYM made it right”

I've been mislead on nutrition sites one too many times. Site says one thing, so you pay for a "deal" and then find out it's not what stated. I thought this happened with IIFYM and was upset, especially when I found out my sign for a 3 month program was a re-occurring subscription. Anthony, who runs the site was upset that I was upset and didn't contact him directly and he immediately helped me resolve my issues. My suggestion if using this site, is to contact him if there's any questions and concerns. Another suggestion for site it to make it clear that a subscription is or is not involved. If subscription make it easier for client to request cancellation. Other than that, I'm thankful Anthony reached out, a human, not AI and treated me like I mattered. Thank you.

They make it impossible to cancel a membership. There is no cancel option within the app or when you login with a web browser. I tried deleting my card from the "billing info" section of the app but that did nothing. No one responded to any of the half dozen emails I sent requesting a cancellation over several months. This is literally a scam. $#*! these people. I am in the middle of filing a claim with the BBB for a refund.

Collova C. – IIFYM Rep

Hi Dan
My name is Anthony Collova. I am the founder of IIFYM.
I am very sorry you had such a terrible experience and feel like you deserve an explanation and apology. I just took back ownership of the site after selling it almost 5 years ago. While I was gone, the company who purchased my website implemented their own software, which is what your complaint is about.
Now that I've taken over control of the company I am making changes to the entire system so this kind of probably doesn't happen again.

If you are still trying to lose weight, I'd love to get you set up with a free coaching program, to help make up for the issues you had with the previous owners.
Let me know if this helps

Thanks so much for your patience

I purchased this but have no control over how my payments are handled. Under billing information, it says I have auto renewal set up but I did not opt in to this. There is no way to stop it either. I email them constantly and they never get back. Don't waste your money on this garbage site.

Hi Elle

I’m Anthony Collova, the founder and now once again the CEO of IIFYM.

I’m really sorry to learn about the troubles you’ve had with our site. It’s important to me that you receive both an apology and an explanation. After selling the company 5 years ago, I’ve only recently taken back control. During my absence, decisions made by the previous owners seem to have led to several issues, as you’ve pointed out in your review.

With the reins back in my hands, I’m on a mission to rectify these problems directly.

If you’re still pursuing your weight loss goals, I’d be eager to offer you a complimentary coaching session, hoping to make up for any inconvenience you’ve experienced previously.

Thank you for your understanding and patience. It means a lot.

Have used calculator many times and my friends do too. Bought their meal plan which has updated several times since buying it. No complaints.

Tip for consumers:
Had to check my spam folder and then add their email to my contacts. Then everything was straight forward from there.

Hi Nick
Anthony Collova here, the founder and NEW CEO behind IIFYM.

I am truly sorry to hear you've had a rough go of it with my site. It's only right you get both an apology and some context. I sold the company 5 years ago and jut recently took back ownership/control. The other owners made some choices which seem to cause a good deal of issues. As you wrote in your review.

Now, with the reins firmly back in my hands, I am fixing these issues, myself.

If you are still on your weight loss journey, I'm keen to offer a complimentary coaching program as a gesture to offset the hassle you've encountered under the previous management.

I appreciate your understanding and patience more than you know.

Bought the blueprint and have not received anything at all. Have sent several emails following up and all receive the same generic return email but absolutely no response back. Really frustrating as I was excited to try this process. Wasteful scam, don't recommend at all!

Do not even waste your time or your money! This website is a complete joke! The lovely menu that they "update" for you is really just the same things over and over again- maybe in a different order the next two weeks, but literally no change! If you really want to try it. Pay for a week get the menu and cancel. And then cancel again, and again, and probably again. 7 weekly charges later I'm hoping to be done with them.
I thought I was purchasing a one time, "try it by the week" offer but instead got nailed for weekly charges. Then got a cocky response from the "customer service" (yeah that's a joke too) rep. You're better off licking saw dust off the floor of a wood shop or the lead paint off the walls of a closed down asylum, then following the plans on this site and dealing with the terrible customer service (if you can even call it that!)

I am so annoyed with myself that I impulsively spent $120 on a "customized" meal plan and workout plan. The workout plan is HORRIBLE. It's just five random exercises that hit different muscle groups. The exercises vary slightly from day to day, but an example is: 1) Banded crab walks 2) Squat 3) Jumping Jacks 4)Leg Lifts 5) Banded Clams. THAT'S IT. That's my "customized" workout plan? Jumping Jacks are considered a strength training move? I can do significantly better making my own workout plan. This doesn't even come close to meeting my needs. Don't even get my started on the meal plan, which is basically the same sort of thing. One of the breakfasts is a bagel and egg sandwich. The lunch is a wrap with chicken and lettuce. I'm basically furious, mostly at myself, for falling for this when I really know better.

I had been counting macros for a while, but could tell I wasn't at the right amounts. I found this site and they boasted a blueprint where an "expert" uses your responses to a pretty long questionnaire and they calculate your macros for you. You get a long PDF that gives pretty basic explanations of each macro and how to adjust your macros. You're assured that if you follow this plan you will lose weight. Yea, that's not true. They are high carb, which is not something that everyone can do (including me). They try to quell any panic that you'll get from ballooning the first few weeks by saying that is normal. Again, no it isn't. They put me at 225 carbs almost double what I normally eat. Following this plan, I gained an additional 10-15 pounds and that's with their suggested adjustments.
When you buy a blueprint you are given access to a client-only page. You see all these people with great results and think that maybe weight loss is possible and think maybe there is something wrong with you. I thought this until September 19,2018. I saw a post from another member asking for help because they had followed the blueprint and kept gaining weight. Many other members had commented they had experienced the same thing and were dissatisfied. Some even said they essentially had to go back to what they were doing before IIFYM and some suggested outside resources. I posted that I was struggling as well. Enter Anthony Collova, Founder and CEO of IIFYM.com.
He responded to each person in the most rude manner possible. He essentially said that if we hadn't lost weight, then it was our fault. I said that I understand that he wants to defend his product, but he should acknowledge that their route of high carbs does not work for everyone. He went so far as to put my personal and confidential stats into the group saying that if I had followed the blueprint, I would have gotten to my goal weight by now. I have never seen a business owner be so rude to their customers. To make it even better, he deleted the entire thread and it is no longer accessible. He even kicked out some of the people that commented on the thread. Thankfully I took screen shots so you can see for yourself how rude he is.
Stay far away and do not buy a blueprint. At the most, just use their free calculator or search on YouTube (or anywhere really) on how to calculate your own macros. Anthony had no customer service skills and has a product that doesn't deliver for many despite what he says. He claims he's an expert, but I've gone to my doctor, trainer, and nutritionist who have all said that the macros I got were outrageous.

Tip for consumers:
Don't bother with it.

Based on other reviews, I get the sense that this used to be a decent program... but definitely not anymore. You'll even notice the only positive reviews on here are from the site itself. The $47 blueprint is a total scam; the macros are generated by a calculator you can now find for free in most macro focused websites. The blueprint template is not at all customized to your goals / needs. Half of the pages explain what macros are (any web search will provide that information if you don't understand macros). The other half is random workout suggestions (didn't seem relevant) and one meal plan (again, not based on my macro needs). When I messaged the support team - they said I'm essentially paying to be part of their facebook group. Ummm what?! I'm a pretty easy going person, but I'll never be ok with people being misled especially when it comes to health and fitness (too many scams / false advertisements out there).

My experience with IIFYM has been the worst customer service nightmare that I have ever encountered in my 38 years of life. Nothing I received was as advertised. I was a part of the IIFYM closed client page. If anyone brought up anything negative to say, even when in response to specific questions, staff was extremely rude and snarky. They then delete your comments. After the staff talked crap to me, they then blocked me from the page so that I could not respond. I absolutely can not believe customer service staff is allowed to behave this way to paying clients. I guess because you already paid your money, they don't need future business.

BUYER BEWARE! I have NEVER written an online review so that tells you how unsatisfied I am with this site. They boast all this incredible information to get more money out of your pocket, they offer 100% satisfaction guarantee, and they provide very little but an outline of eating healthy foods. When you express your dissatisfaction you are met with denial and jargon. PLEASE DO NOT waste your hard earned money on something you can find for free all across the internet, I made the mistake and hope you learn from me. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!

Anthony of IIFYM.com needs to take a few courses on customer service. After asking a question he came back as rude and disinterested. What happened was I sent an email asking for some direction a few links to answer some questions I have about nutrition and meal prep. He then sent me a reply will a sales letter to $99 service he provides that will help me figure out my macro and calorie goals. However, I had already told him in the first email that I know this information. So he saw an opportunity to sell hard to me but didn't address my questions.

So I fired a reply back to him letting him know it was bad customer service to do that and he is possibly losing potential customers because as it stands if he would have answered my question first and then gave me a sales pitch I may have purchased his service or a more advanced service at a higher price based on my needs. I said that I know about customer service because I have a diploma on my wall that says so.

He replied with the following "The website itself is a great resource. You asked for help. I help people, for a living. Then rudely used my words against me by saying "how do I know? Because I have a diploma on my wall that says so" P.S. "If you have some time, please check out my other site, myoatmeal for an amazing carb source! You actually customize your own oatmeal!"

Now, what he doesn't know is that I am already a customer of myoatmeal and I will no longer be needing his product or services, I can buy oatmeal anywhere.

Tip for consumers:
Don't email questions to Anthony because he will not answer them unless you pay him so it seems. He is more than willing to sell you a coaching package starting at $99

IIFYM is possibly the most self-explanatory and flexible diet on the planet, its name meaning 'If It Fits Your Macros'. It helps users lose weight by tracking macronutrients (protein, fat, and carbohydrates) without restricting food choices. Macros are the only place calories come from so by hitting macros, users inherently hit weight loss calories.
