“College class ring”

Billy M.
10/29/23

The original ring I purchased was stolen 25 years ago so I contacted Jostens about making a replacement. I did the order online and had to cancel the first order. I called them am money was refunded within a few days. I had accidentally ordered a medium instead of large. I redid the order and marked my calendar. It arrived 4 days earlier than expected. The ring was perfect. Don't use the sizing tool app.Order a ring sizing kit from Amazon or someone and use that. The sizing app is not that accurate. Just order a medium or smaller for a woman and large for a man. They don't give actual measurements on their Site.

This used to be an American company which they took pride in being US based. They now outsource the majority of their call center to the DR and it has slowly gone down hill. They don't understand what we're talking about and don't understand the importance of graduation ceremonies. They're focused on their pockets not the integrity of the company. As a long supporter of Jostens it saddens me to see the company deteriorate to nothing of integrity. Your employees also deserve a warning when getting canned. A short last minute meeting, really?

Our school supplied both parents as contacts for our son. They sent me multiple emails that my son didn't order a yearbook, after asking my wife, she provided me with the order info. I emailed them multiple times to explain if this was a mistake or a way to make additional profits on unsuspecting parents, no response! Crooked company that I'm trying to get our school away from. Don't fall for their greedy deception. Shameful

I ordered my adopted senior an outfit to wear around with pride 1/23/24. It is due to arrive 3/16/24. Paid $100 for something she will barely get to wear. Horrible service and website takes you in circles trying to get info on delivery status.

Tip for consumers:
It won't be shipped in a timely manor allowing grads plenty of time to wear it during their senior year.

Tried to order a yearbook. Spent 2 hours on the phone with my bank because you declined and flagged my card for being out of state. Aren't ALL your customers out of state? Same problem when ordering cap and gown last fall. Thank goodness this is my last child. Never had a problem before. Don't t need the stress and wasted time. I have enough if that with my 2 jobs!

The site itself was down for weeks, so i couldn't even order anything. Only bought the cap and gown package and it was at least $80 AND THAT WAS THE LEAST EXPENSIVE ONE. Got the cap and gown and it's made with the CHEAPEST material ever, almost broke the zipper trying it on. Save your money and buy it on Amazon. (ps: u cant really tell from the picture, but the cap is literally just the same fabric for the cap with cardboard underneath it. $80 FOR $#*!TY CARDBOARD AND FABRIC.)

Tip for consumers:
The site doesn't ship to you, it ships to your school and you have to pick it up.

Products used:
bought the cap and gown package, which includes one school mascot tassel, one of your choice, and the cap and gown come with a tassel.

I called Jostens to verify if the ring I ordered 8 weeks ago and paid $410.00 for had been shipped to the school for ring day that will take place in 2 weeks. The lady who answered the phone informed me that it had not been delivered or shipped (possibly not even made). When I voiced my concern about it arriving on time, she stated "nothing is guaranteed, NOT EVEN YOUR LIFE". Such indifference and lack of accountability is extremely disappointing and disgusting behavior to the people who pay their hard-earned money for these rings. Shame on you Jostens for over-inflating your prices and treating your customers with a lack or care and disregard.

Tried to make a change to an order due to student not going to graduate on time (happens will they push student to order graduation items 10 months before graduation). Multiple hours on the phone getting the runaround and told multiple times I would be issued a refund and then received an email weeks later saying they would not issue refunds. More time on the phone and email to be told different things. Worst customer service and money hungry company I may have ever dealt with.

I ordered my daughter's Graduation package which included the Announcements, I received them Friday and they are horrible quality! Literally printed on computer paper, folded sloppy and the print is crooked! Customer Service for Announcements are closed Friday-Sunday, open M-Thursday 11-4 and was on phone for an hour trying to speak to someone and kept getting voicemail! So I emailed to complain! Had I known I could've made my daughter her Graduation Announcements, but I figured oh they'll be nice ordering from here! Wish I had read reviews before hand!

$40 for a high school yearbook is ridiculous, especially when my high schooler has only been in ONE picture each year for the past 5 years. Now I have 2 in high school, and my freshman might be lucky enough to be in TWO, if you can even pick them out of the tiny team photo. The school doesn't ever have a time set aside for kids to autograph each other's yearbooks, so they may as well just check their yearbooks out on classmates.com. I know Jostens isn't responsible for the number of pictures, just stating why I feel the price isn't justified. The added service fee doesn't make a lot of sense to me…it's not like they have to spend time getting a special order together…it's a mass-produced yearbook. Plus why all the extra white space on pages? Why not enlarge individual photos so we can actually see them?' Yearbooks all look formatted the same anymore…boring.

Jostens preys on high school students, selling them metal and plastic "stones" for many hundreds of dollars. They get schools to sign a contract with them, letting students out of class for a "ring ceremony" if they cough up serious money for a trash ring.

My problem isn't even that Jostens is overpriced garbage. It's overpriced garbage, but the real problem is Jostens customer service.

Jostens told me I could upgrade my high school ring to a college ring. I mailed in the ring and did all their process, ready to pay even more for an "upgrade fee." A month later, they tell me they can't do it because it's not 14K gold or sterling silver. Such a waste of time.

Jostens contracts with schools to extort ridiculous $ for every item associated with graduation. Then the school makes it mandatory to require new cap and gown every year by changing little things. Guess what? Your school gets a piece of that pie back from Jostens. Hold the schools accountable for the outrageous thievery they are perpetrating with their partner in crime, Jostens. We HAD to purchase from Jostens and the minimum cost for just the gown was over $50 after all the junk fees (delivery of 20 plus to pick it up myself from the SCHOOL. So they made an extra 1000 just on my daughter's class 'delivery' fees.)
My daughter's class ring is a joke. I spent almost 600 and she spent forever designing what looked like a beautiful, unique ring on their website. Just got it today, months later, and it looks like a bubble gum machine prize. Seriously. It looks like they farmed the work out to Temu, complete with blurry engraving, uneven fonts, the most CHEAPA*S stones that are nothing like they picture. Cracked, cloudy, just don't have words for how cheap it looks. I am disgusted that this is being foisted off on graduates, who get these as symbols of the hard work and perseverance they put in to earn a diploma. And I am furious at the thought of the hardworking families who make genuine sacrifices to pay these outrageous prices only to be handed this unbelievable garbage. Shame on Jostens; Shame on the schools who conspire to peddle this crap!DO NOT waste your money. Have a jeweler make/engrave something quality that does justice to your child's accomplishments.

First off, my daughter's ring was $500. I found a place (with amazing reviews) that could do the exact same thing for less. I called and tried to cancel the payment, only to be transferred five…FIVE times and hung up on every single time like the call dropped. BS
I figured they weren't going to cancel the ring, so I called the service rep for our area and paid it off (December 1st). I was guaranteed it would be here by Christmas, since it was supposed to be a Christmas gift for her. Christmas comes and no ring. Email them and finally got a response that it's JUST NOW getting made. It's January 4th.

Please beg your school not to work with this company.
And if you are forced to, do not be fooled into ordering anything you feel is extra. Everything is orderable individually BUT their website makes it time consuming to find the one thing you need.

Tip for consumers:
They are liars, they will not cancel your order, they will simply say your order has been processed.

My daughter has a Nordic name Mathea someone at the printing office decided that I must have miss spelled her name and took it apond themselves to correct it. Changing it to Mathew her graduation announcements now say Mathew Faye. I called and getting it correct was now problem however graduation here in Tennessee is in mid May we moved across the country 2 yrs ago most of our family is in Washington state now instead of sending announcements I will have to call everyone to ensure they have plenty of time to make arrangements to join us. I called and asked for a discount because of the inconvenience this is causing. Was told this hardly ever happens and they have no way of giving any discounts because mistakes don't usually happen. SMH bull poo I told her she is in correct that I am staring at a online review page right now and told her what the rating is. Advice avoid using them at all cost! Or it may cost you!

Tip for consumers:
Stay away I am now finding I can get a graduation ring from a jewelry store and that snap fish does announcements I. Sure I can get other items from stores on line like itsy for personalized products so skip the Jostens and get respected as a customer

I had to have it resized and I sent it in. They sent me a completely different ring with a different stone. I sent it back because the stone was flawed. They are now trying to get me to pay for THEIR MISTAKE. I am utterly disappointed and just want my money back. They have ruined this whole experience for me.

I went through 5 minutes of removing every possible add on, which this company was so kind as to automatically apply, only to have to pay 81$ for a cheap $#*! book, need 2 different "added fees," and learn that apparently whenever you try to enter credit card information the site crashes. Words cannot describe my unfathomable loathing for this money grubbing, lazily made, $#*!stain embodiment of capitalism. I cannot believe this is the company with a monopoly on school yearbooks.

Overpriced, deceptive marketing. "Essentials" package included essentials plus other unnecessary items for the low price of $300+. Items can be purchased separately but it is hard to navigate to on the website and is not obvious. A lot of families can't afford this and then what, their student can't participate in their graduation ceremony? Absolutely disgusting and everything that's wrong with our country.

The photos weren't even cut, nether from each other nor from white background.
So for $30 I basically got a sheet of paper with 2 pics printed on it.
Unfortunately, they were our school provider for school picture day
So I didn't have choice.
Overpriced and bad service.

I did the payment over 4 months for a $365 purchase and had to wait almost 3 weeks when I was told it would take 4-5 business days. When I got the order I washed them one time before wearing it and the labels on the pants have already started peeling off. Shouldve been more items like a beanie or a hat or something other than what I can get for 30 dollars at Walmarts. I don't recommend anyone buying from hostess and I never will ever again.

Please don't loose your diploma. Jostens was the ONLY way I could get a duplicate. I was able to get a transcript but an actual copy was needed for a job. I had left several messages for the guy Rick whom was in charge of my particular high school. He never returned any of my calls. I finally caught up with him February 1st. He actually tried to have me take another route to get my diploma; I told him this was the route I was told to take and therefore I wanted to move forward with placing an order. He let me know it would take up to 4-6 weeks. I made it very clear I had a job on the line that was contingent on receiving this duplicate of my diploma. Several weeks has passed and I contact Rick and states he is still awaiting an email reply from the school. I said okay. I followed up a week later and Rick still explains he is awaiting for an email reply and he couldn't understand why he didn't get a reply on my behalf for this individual has responded to other requests from him but not regarding me. He questioned if I had actually graduated from high school and verified my information again. I confirmed indeed I did and that I have 2 degrees following my diploma and is it not part of the protocol to actually pick up a phone after you don't receive feedback in a matter of weeks of do you just continue to wait since I had already paid money and have a job awaiting. Rick proceeds to say I know this is why I hate this job waiting on somebody to get back to me. I asked Rick for a name and number of this individual he was supposed to be corresponding with. He provided that information. I called she tells me she's not the person that handles that and although Rick had given me her information that's not her job and provided me with the proper contact name and number. I called that number and left a message. I also called the board and left a message. I then called Rick back to tell him to tell him he was contacting the wrong individual via email and I provided the phone number of the person he indeed should be contacting. He proceeds to ask me for this persons email address?! (Really, sure I'll continue to do all the leg work) he says he would call her but he would most likely get a voicemail like I did. I then called the first individual back that gave me the appropriate name and number and asked if she could also provide me with an email address. She did. I called Rick back and gave him this individual's email address. I had literally did everything that should of been done after week one of not receiving any feedback. I then followed up the following day to see if Rick had received any feedback confirming my graduation from this high school. He did. I received my diploma a week later. March 9th ….now remember I initially placed my order February 1st. But because someone doesn't care or like their job they almost prevented me from a great job opportunity. Thank God I have another full time job. For waiting on Rick could of had me homeless. Please don't loose your diploma people.

Girl, let me tell you, I ordered my daughter's Cap and Gown a whole month prior to graduation and it's still not here yet. Can you believe that? The expected delivery date is the week of graduation. Like, come on, they're moving slower than a snail. I mean, seriously, they need to step up their game. I'm thinking of telling DISD to find a new provider. But hey, if you're ever in the same boat, make sure to order way in advance. Don't be like me and play yourself. Trust me, you don't want to deal with this kind of stress.
