Art Garfunkel is an icon and legend, and I preferred to remember him like that. Someone really needs to be honest with him: He can no longer sing. His performance was a sad affair and only made me long for the angelic tones of his younger years. Sad when a celebrity who once had extraordinary gifts cannot finally sit back and say--OK, enough, I had my day, let my fans remember the beauty. Maybe he's just deluded about the quality of his voice. Honestly, my husband (who has no musical ability) could have sung those songs better. And the "poems," while curious and cute, were not what I paid for. I wish we hadn't shelled out more than $230 with tax, fees, etc. etc for two seats (and those were the cheap seats) to witness Arty's losses. Oy.
