“Quality of work is not there and no response to warranty requests”

We hired Craig Brisbin of Mako Sealants in the Fall of 2017. The job was to seal our concrete pool slide and surrounding flagstone and moss rock. New sealant on the slide immediately began to flake, so Craig attempted another product. It seemed to stick, until we used the slide for the first time in the spring of 2018. The second product completely wore off over the winter, leaving a portion of the slide very gritty and not usable (too abrasive for swim suits and skin). Additionally, during the first job Craig used a power washer to clean up after his work and in the process, accidentally removed the sealant on our stamped concrete pool decking. He told us that the previous homeowner used a cheap product and that he would cut us a good deal to reseal with a better product. We hired Craig to do the job, but the quality was not satisfactory, as much of the decking is still very cloudy/discolored, and portions look like they have never been sealed. We've made numerous attempts to text/email Craig to ask if he will warranty his work for the pool slide and decking. He has not responded. We paid Craig in full for both projects and unfortunately our slide and pool decking look worse than before he started the projects. To top it off, he continues to post pictures of recently completed projects on Facebook, yet can't seemed to find the time to respond to our warranty concerns. Very unprofessional and unethical. We have filed a formal complaint with the BBB to see if that will get Craig to respond and warranty his work. Until then, we would NOT recommend Craig Brisbin of Mako Sealants.

I have been trying to no avail to get Craig Brisbin to honor the 'satisfaction guarantee' on his product since July 2013. At first he responded back via email on July 11,2013 that he was out of town on family vacation and would contact me upon his return to set up appointment to review, I contacted him again on August 15,2013 upon which he replied he should be able to come the next day and would call me to let me know. He sent me a note saying he would come in the afternoon but not sure what time, he never showed up nor called. On September 25,2013 my husband tried to contact him via email and I left a phone message - no response. I have left several messages and sent emails requesting assistance and to date, Mr. Brisbin has chosen to ignore us all the way around and not honor his 100% Satisfaction Guarantee - very bad business practice. Honoring your word and returning phone calls is something highly lacked by Mako Sealants.
