“SCAM: Garbage clothing DO NOT ORDER”

H C.
12/17/19

Please do not order from this company, it is a scam. The quality is terrible, nothing like advertised- see photos. The stitch is awful, poorly made and nothing like the image- one of my dresses (pink) didn't have pleating or anything the item described. If you wish to return items (not exchange) their policy is for you to pay the shipping to Xian, China, including customs costs. Once they didn't show tracking options and it took 4 weeks, I learned the hard way. The shoe sizing is completely off, even when using their suggested table to determine the correct size. DO NOT BUY FROM THESE FRAUDS! Truly want the ability to give zero stars.

I ordered five blouses, and only received four. The ones I did receive were at least two sizes too small. I contacted the company at least 10 times to request a refund for the blouse I never received, and to get the address to return the other blouses to. Meiconic gave me the runaround for a month, sending confusing emails. DO NOT buy from Meiconic.

The short version: I ordered clothes from this site and it was a horrible experience. The clothes look great online, but in person they are extremely cheap. I tried to get my money back and it was a very long process and I still don't have my full refund. The company says it's in London, had (I think they took the address down from the site) a phone number that was actually from France, but it turns out the company is located in Hong Kong. I gave the rating one star, but it honestly doesn't even deserve that.

If you care for the longer version, please read below. I apologize if it's poorly written. It's early and I'm just so upset with this company.

The long version: I had an event to attend and a friend suggested I look at this site. The Meiconic website has tons of nice looking clothes, so I thought "why not"? I ordered a few dresses (the same dress in two sizes, and one additional dress) and since I needed them kind of quickly, I paid extra for expedited shipping. I ordered on a Friday afternoon and should have at least received the order by the following Friday at the latest. By the following Wednesday I was a little concerned and decided to reach out to the company. It used to have on the site that it was located in London, but this has since been taken down. However, there was a phone number I could call. I should mention I am an American currently living in Copenhagen, and not too familiar with the country codes. Anyway, I called the phone number that was provided (this has also since been taken down) and was greeted by an operator speaking in French. So I guess the company is in France?

There is an e-mail on the website, so I wrote an e-mail and asked where my package was and received the following message: "Because we just came back from our holiday on Oct 7th, the shipment maybe delayed, but we will expedite it now, may we know when is the [event] date please?"

There was no indication on their website that they were on holiday and nothing mentioned in my order confirmation e-mail that they were on holiday and that the package may arrive later than expected.

My event was on the 19th, but it was in the states and I was flying home on the 16th and wanted the dress at least by the 11th so I could figure out if I needed to continue dress shopping (which in the back of my mind I knew I needed to do and did continue to do).
I wrote and let them know this - No Response. I wrote again and this time they wrote back and said my package would be at my door by the 14th. I then wrote and said I would like to cancel the order, but they told me it was too late and that the package was on its way.

Not only was it on its way, but I was to pay for any incoming tax fees. Incoming tax fees? Where was this package coming from?

The order finally did show up on the 14th... in the tiniest package I've ever seen... and the incoming tax fee was not cheap. Because the company was actually from Hong Kong!
I opened the package and each dress that was in there was individually wrapped in its own plastic bag. I didn't even need to take the dresses out of the wrapping to see that it was bad. So, so bad. It was like ordering a cheap costume from a Halloween store. But, I thought... maybe. So, I opened up a package for one of the dresses and tried it on and again... it... was... so... bad. I was appalled, but also laughing because it was unreal how horrible this dress material was. I took the dress off and carefully folded it and put it back in the plastic in which it arrived. I quickly jumped online and wrote to them that I would like to return the package. On their website it says that packages need to be returned within 15 days from the day you received the package.

They wrote the following message: "If you want to send the item back for refund, the return-shipping fee needs to be afforded by yourself. So we suggest that you keep the item and we will offer you 20% coupon code to you as compensation. Coupon code is equals to cash. It is convenient to buy other items in our website in future. Please let me know your option. Thanks."

I responded and said thank you for the kind offer, but I'd like to return the items for a full refund. They responded with the address where I could return the items and let me know I'd have to pay for the shipping on my own.

Then received another message: "This is agent loren from Meiconic, returing the items will cost you a lot, also there could be potential customs, not worthy to do that. We are glad to send you a 50% Off coupon code if you are willing to keep still, in this way it will save hassle of return, also you will enjoy 50% discount on your next purchase, please consider it?"

At this point I had already sent the package back and I absolutely did not want any other items from this company. I wrote and let them know the package was already on its way and that it didn't cost me much to send it back. I appreciated the offer, but I didn't want it and instead would like a full refund and since the items were not expedited I would like the extra money I paid for expedited shipping.

They wrote and said they couldn't pay me back for the expedited shipping. I knew I wouldn't get that back, but it was worth a shot.

A couple weeks went by and I finally received the following message: "Today we just received the package, we are glad to make one exchange, you can pick some items on our store, we can re-send them to you, looking forward to your early reply sincerely."

I wrote to them and let them know that in two e-mails they sent to me, they said I would receive the full refund. So, they relented and said they would send me the refund within a week. I was to receive $252.47, but they only refunded $151.48. You know why they won't refund the rest. Because I opened one of the packages to try the dress on. According to them, the package was "tampered" with and they can't refund the entire amount. I ordered from them over two months ago, it's now December, and I STILL don't have a full refund. Clearly I'm not going to get it.

So now I'm reviewing the company because it's been an AWFUL experience trying to work with them and I'd like to save others the trouble.

If you've read this far, one I'm surprised and two - I BEG you PLEASE do NOT ORDER FROM MEICONIC! You will be so sorry if you do.
