“So far everyone's been kind there”

A B.
2/2/19

I post now and again there and so far haven't had any problems with anyone, the moderators TiredTina and Mischief have both been kind to me when I got freaked out and messaged them about a concern I had. Edited to add: they re proving to have a sense of humour over there as well. I derailed a serious thread that was started by one of the admins there and worst that happened was my posts and the other posts that joined in the silliness, posted by other members, got moved to a non-serious section, instead of us all getting yelled at for daring to be silly in a serious thread. It was a thread about reporting spam, so to be silly I posted a picture of a tin of spam and reported it just to be silly, and as I said nothing bad happened they just moved my silly posts and the other posts that joined in the silliness. Edit: I post every day now and they don't punish if they know the reason why someone is acting that way is because of their mental health issues. The only thing that could improve this forum is having a chat room on there imo.

They won't even let you tell a harmless joke. It's DebbieDownerville too often. Very frustrating. On the plus side other mental health forums stink too. That's not really a plus, is it?

Very unprofessional. There are favourite members on this forum where a clear bias is given to them by the staff there. If you are not a favoured member or worse offend a favoured member. Admin will treat you how they want, breaking their own rules. They say you will always be told why you have been moderated and kept informed. Absolute rubbish. They will restrict, ban or take any other action they want with no communication and often no sufficient justification, and no chance to resolve it. Then you are locked out of the forum, your account is still there and you cannot defend yourself or do anything about it.

I don't think the site should be closed down, but some of the admin need to go. Their attitude is appalling. They are dealing with mentally unstable people on this site. They don't seem to care that their actions could push someone over the edge, by isolating the person from the rest of the forum when they perhaps need it most. It is a power trip for some of them. I only wish there were more mental health forums out there. Then people would not have to put up with the pathetic behaviour of the staff on this one. The lack of compassion is staggering.

Many nice members there. They will however defend staff as they truly cannot comprehend the juvenile, nasty behaviour until they find it aimed at them. But when it does happen to you, you will no longer be able to post or say anything about it anyway. A lot of people also unfortunately suck up to the favoured members to keep themselves in a good position on the forum. Understandable but sickening that this is the environment admin have created there.

This site Admin should definitely be investigated. They are in a powerful position and are abusing it

Hello,

This site is your worst enemy. Don't go digging too far, explaining your real issues. All they want is light problems, somethings that are like "I feel alone" or "I'm sad" or "Tough breakup...". Basically, like another critic said, this site is handled by snowflakes. If you wonder why this site is so bad, it's because if you explain something in details (too graphic or too triggering) they will flag you.

Now picture this: a young man or woman seeks help but can't go see a doctor for financial or any other issues. She or he struggles deeply and they need to talk it out. They go on this site, pour their heart out, wait until people reply and what to this site do? They flag you and ban you.

If this group of snowflakes reads this critic: how are you guys doing knowing you maybe ruined somebody's life by making them believe what they are going through is so bad that they can't even seek help anonymously? I hope you feel like... well you know the word, sweethearts.

I told you that I would do anything in my power to destroy this site, and I'm only just starting. But to go back on why they are flat-out horrible, it's because they are literally saying "We can't tolerate such posts" or "go see a doctor". Excuse me what? Are you out of your mind?

If you have bad anxiety, harm OCD, eating disorders, you will only make it worse by registering into this site. Do not trust them, do not get involved with them, just completely ignore them and report them if you can. You may think "well they seem to listen and be kind". Yes, the people in the forum or really sweet and I actually got a nice comment, which made me feel better, but the team in charge is horrible, they lack something: respect and common sense. Trust me, they lack even more than just these two things. They just lack braincells.

These types of people are rotten to the core and I mean it. Why? Because they pretend to offer help just to shut the door right in your face. If you want to get some help, I'm sure there's a lot of site on the net better than this one.

They promote people with mental health problems, but only if it's light and "quirky". I swear, if it's too detailed, you will get flagged. You have to negotiate with them to know what to say. They pretend like you can share schizophrenic behavior, but they are lying. If you are too much into details, you will get hurt in the end.

Just think before registering. This is a sign that if you register, it will be a big mistake. If you were curious about whether you should log in or not, then maybe this is your sign: do not. Please.

This site is dangerous for you and other people around you. I maybe strong to ignore their email, but what about others that cried because they thought that even a team made to handle a site with mentally ill people cannot even understand them? Help those people, write a negative review, give a bad grade.

Also! I can't access my account, but it still exists. And that is shady. Be careful.

I will do everything in my power to shut down this site.
And I'll protect people from this site.
Do not register.

Not as much a matter of what you post as much as who is posting it. Huge bias on the staff's end favoring members who have been there longer. Also a rather noticeable size of right wingers and conspiracy theorists. Not a good place to be if you are seeking help.

A member posted a link to this review site on the forum yesterday. The admin were quick to remove that topic. I hope others had time to see it and will leave honest reviews of the terrible behavior of the staff on the mental health forum. Also if you can, add links to these reviews on FB. Get the word out and hold these admin and staff supporting them accountable for their cold nasty antics on this forum. Playing with mentally ill vulnerable peoples lives.

A big thank you to that member for posting the link directing people here! Well done.

The staff on this forum are a disgrace. There are one or two admin who seem to be the dominant ones and the rest of the staff follow their lead. They are spiteful, and completely indifferent to the vulnerabilities of the majority of this forums users.

They have a click of untouchables, If you are not one of them then tread carefully. They will think nothing of putting you on moderation without good reason. They will not discuss or try to help solve the problem. On moderation you will be lucky if your posts are approved within 4 or so hours sometimes. You will see staff logged in ignoring your post that needs to be approved and posted by them whilst on moderation. This is a sick show of power.

This site should have some sort of monitoring as it is dealing with some of the most vulnerable people in society and the admin are not equipped to be in charge of such a responsibility. I sincerely fear they will be the cause of someone taking their own life, if this hasn't happened already. There needs to be somewhere to report people like this. There must be, they are playing games with peoples lives. It seems they are more preoccupied with stroking their own egos.

If you aren't in the click they will ignore and allow bullying to go on without stepping in. If you are in the click you will be defended even when you are wrong and the person in the right will be punished with over the top infractions. Their use of moderating the forum has little to do with the average users wellbeing. It is their personal playground and there is no sympathy from these people. Imagine a mental health forum run by people who dont have any compassion for others.

There isn't many reviews here so far, but you will see all go back to admin abusing their position.

This site exists as a vanity activity (for those who created it). I'm sure they mean well. But, they're oblivious to the responsibility they have for keeping members safe; their info private, etc. They'll reveal your private info, then claim there's nothing they can do about it because they're "too busy (you should be thankful for their service)." If you chose to leave, they'll make it look like you were banned. They simply *never* put themselves in the members' shoes.

As another reviewer noted (Femme), it's an abusive/toxic environment. I got hit with two very specific rules in my first *12* hours (posting a link as a new member -- which was never disclosed to me as a rule, and discussing medicine, or self-medication. I never understood which was the problem.). When I gently suggested to a mod that the new-member experience would be improved if those specific rules were included in the rules new members are required to read (when registering), I was told I should read the rules(!).

That's how they are. They're not listening. They hold members to extremely high standards, saying "it's to create a safe place." But, when you point out how toxic and gaslighting the staff feels, they brush it off with "we're too busy" or "we're just volunteers" (you're being ungrateful).

I left after just 24 *hours*, seeing the writing on the wall. The moderator urged me to stay and give it more time. I was tempted, but they didn't suggest *why* I should assume anything would be different. It just sounded like "happy talk," a nice hostess. I asked for my account to be deleted. It was *banned*. When I asked for that to be corrected, they said they couldn't. When I pointed out that was a lie, they corrected the matter.

After *all* of that, I asked the mod to thoughtfully consider how I was proven right. I mean, the mod was urging me to stay, like things would be different. My gut feeling was not to trust them. I affirmed my desire to leave. They couldn't even handle that request responsibly. I continued to be entangled with them, in conflict (asking for my personal info to be removed from public view; told they can't -- when can, and did.). The moderator didn't even have the integrity to reply to that question. They don't feel any responsibility there for how they can hurt people.

It's just a horrible place like that. I don't think they're good people. They're totally oblivious to their responsibility for running a forum. They profusely wave around "safe place." But, that means is them moderating the living daylights out of *you*. It's all about *you*. When you point out how the staff is creating an unsafe place, they don't hear it. They'll get huffy about how busy they are, or just volunteers (and don't deserve criticism). But, if you're too busy to compose a post correctly, they've got all the time in the world to mod-edit your post into what they think you should have said.

So, I strongly advise being careful with this site. They appear to have left another forum thinking it would be "fun" to have their own. Just a vanity endeavor. They split that existing community, and are simply uncaring about their responsibility for cultivating a community (especially a community of vulnerable persons). That's not even on their radar (beyond making members appear to be safe to others, which they have endless resources to do.).

If it were any other forum, a forum for car repair, etc, it wouldn't be a big problem. But, it's a site for *vulnerable people* run by people who don't take that responsibility seriously *AT ALL*. They're *defensive* about it. The extent to which they wave around "safe" place" is to control *you*, not them.

You can get hurt there. Trust me, they don't care about that *AT ALL*. I tried to be gentle, suggesting these things, and they were just annoyed. No integrity at all. I asked thoughtful questions, and they were offended.

I was a member there, and was kind of put off by the moderators. One member claimed to be a black person. Her experiences, of course, would be very different than that of the average caucasion. Especially if they live in the U.S.

It was interesting to see that the member posted that she was told by two of the moderators, so far, to not mention race/culture on the forum because it made HER look like a racist.

She finally started using euphemisms to be politically correct? And the new moderator stated, that wasn't appropriate either. How can not mentioning race by using a "euphemism" make a statement inappropriate.

Apparently, this member was being bullied daily by hispanics, caucasions, african americans, and any other race she would encounter in her location. Makes sense when you're black. There's not a day in the US, there isn't someone in the headlines showing prejudice/bigotry toward her kind. Which is why she probably sought help on that forum. Bullying leads to anxiety, depression and in many cases suicide.

Apparently, it made the moderators who are apparently white in the UK/US, very uncomfortable. Looks like they didn't have the balls to do it in the past? But apparently, they put a new moderator named Cazcat up to do their dirty work.

That member truly made a difference on the forum. She didn't just talk about herself and her problems. She reached out to the others, and certainly made quite a few of us laugh.

She also posted about how other members PM'd her and assumed she was white, though she posted about her culture since the day she joined several months ago. Upon learning she was black, they either left the forum, or stopped posting. One in particular made a fool of himself (from Florida?) yes, thinking she was white, when she described her experiences in the gyms. I guess that member who made that assumption - also assumed black ladies don't go to the gym or are even looked at by white males.

I wouldn't doubt that the ones that she seemed to make uncomfortable - didn't report her themselves, or say something to the moderators about a black person being on the forum that obviously scared the living sh**t out of their white world.
