“Mike's Armory - Top notch service!”

I ordered a Henry Model X. 357/. 38Spl from Mike in July of 2020. The rifle was on backorder due to multiple issues Henry was facing. I placed a "Phone Order" per the instructions on Mike's website and therefore had no charges until the rifle arrived. I spoke with Mike over the course of the next few months to get updates on the status of my order. In December of 2020 I chose to go ahead and pay for my rifle in order to raise my priority in obtaining my rifle. Over the succeeding months I received several updates from Mike and talked to him many times. He was always up front with the issues he was having in obtaining firearms from Henry and always professional in how he handled communications. Mike finally received my rifle in August of 2021 and contacted me for delivery. Unfortunately I was traveling for the summer and did not expect to be home until late October of this year. Mike worked with me and kept my rifle in his possession until I returned home. Once home, I contacted Mike and he shipped my rifle post haste. I received it in perfect condition. Mike was great during this whole experience. Mike kept in touch with Henry on the status of getting orders fulfilled and in turn kept me informed of the situation. It took a long time to get my rifle, thankfully I was in no real hurry. But in the end, I am a happy customer. Mike went out of his way to keep me informed and then when my gun finally came in, he again went out of his way to work with me to keep my rifle safe and shipped to me when I was finally ready. I would say that if you have questions or concerns when dealing with Mike, call him. He is more than willing to work with you to make sure you are happy. Roger C.

“Charge me for nothing. NO STARS if I could”

I had recently placed a back order on a rifle from mikes armory with a statement on their website they would not charge the card until the product was available and if you cancel there was no problem as they did not know when the product would eventually be available. So I placed the back order and lo and behold my card was charged the full amount. Well a few weeks later I found the product somewhere else and made the purchase and cancelled the order. When they credited me they wrote me a check through the mail and charged me a restocking fee of 20 dollars. What? I never received anything and they never even got the product from the manufacturer. How can they charge a restocking fee? Worst rip off I've ever dealt with on an online company. Never trust this establishment.

MICHAEL E. – Retailer/Mfc Rep

I am sorry that Michael had a bad experience, that is never our intention. I have never heard from Michael on this or we would have been happy to waive the $20 credit card processing fees charged against his deposit refund on the backordered item. I have since attempted to contact Michael but I have not heard back from him.

To clarify, the $20 was not a restocking fee but was for the credit card fees which we were charged on his priority backorder deposit by the credit card company. We do not charge credit card fees on sales, like many dealers, but we sometimes charge the credit card processing fees against a refund on a prepaid item deposit purchased on a back order. This is explained on the website but I should have been more clear to Michael perhaps.

I have told customers that yes they could defer payment until back ordered items ship, but to do this they MUST select Phone Order at check out. Unfortunately for whatever reason, Michael put his credit card into the website. I am not sure where the breakdown in communication happened. I thought the website was clear but I will definitely try to make it more obvious. The website is automated on the credit card processing timing. In other words it immediately charges a card entered into the website and I do not have any control over this timing, since the processing is performed by a 3rd party credit card processing company.

We allow customers to prepay a back ordered item with their credit card if they want to be on a priority list. Or they can defer payment by selecting Phone Order and go into the ordinary queue. Prepaid priority treatment is allowed with the caveat that if the customer cancels their prepaid order we may reduce the refund of their deposit by the credit card fees we are charged on their deposit. I think most folks understand that taking a deposit does have costs for us and that we take such priority back orders as a courtesy for customers. Most customers make a prepayment because they want at the top of the back order list. I have had folks cancel prepaid orders on occasion and no one else has ever complained to me about the credit card processing fees charged on a deposit refund.

I am still waiting for Michael to get back with me and will gladly refund the credit card fees. I promise though that we take customer service very personally here, and very seriously. I don't want anyone to have a bad experience with us, even if a simple misunderstanding as the case here. We always will do everything we can to make it right.

To clarify our policy,:

1) We take back orders on anything we regularly stock.

2) Customers can defer payment on back orders (until the item is ready to ship) by selecting Phone Order as the payment method on the website. They can then cancel their order anytime and there are no charges to cancel.

3) Alternatively customers can prepay a back ordered item to get priority treatment on the waiting list. They put their credit card number into the website to make payment and the website immediately charges their card.

4) They can cancel their prepaid backorder and get a refund for any reason, but we reserve the option to offset the refund by the 3% credit card processing fees we were charged on their deposit, but we are happy to waive this upon request.

5) We do not charge restocking fees except in very rare occasions (like a unique custom item we cannot easily resell).

6) When we issue a refund we will try to put it on the customer's credit card. Some credit cards will not allow us to issue a refund after a certain period of time. In such instances the refund comes in the form of a check.

7) Customers can always contact us if they have a problem or a question, and we will always help them and do everything we can to ensure they have a good experience.

8) We back everything we sell 100%.

Sincerely, Mike M.
