“Comfortable Clothing, Great Customer Service”

My family and I love the brands carried in store. Some are a little expensive, but are worth every penny because they are so comfortable. Customer service in person and on the phone has always been very helpful without hovering.

“Customer Service was non-existent”

I stopped in on my lunch break last week with the intention of getting some new walking shoes, the On Cloud brand. As I walked in, there were several employees standing by the front counter talking amongst themselves. Not one single person acknowledged me. I walked past them, headed to the shoes. I saw the pair I liked, picked them up and looked at them and then noticed another pair that I liked as well. I looked around and still no one asked to assist me even though there were no other customers in the store. Frustrated, I put the shoes down and headed towards the front of the store, stopping to look at some tshirts near the counter that caught my eye. Again, no assistance. Customer service is key. I'll spend my money elsewhere.

I ordered a vest from this company that was on sale, having read their policy that items discounted by more than 30% are not returnable for cash, only store credit. (Who does this, btw? Weird.) The regular price on the vest was $120 while the sale price was $80, so doing some quick math in my head I figured that it had been discounted by 1/3, which was about 30%. When I received the vest I found that it was too small and decided to visit the store in-person to try a larger size. I didn't like how the second vest fit either so I decided to return the first one, which I had been told over the phone that I could do. Lo and behold, the discount was actually 33% by the math, so I could only get store credit. (Sneaky?) The store would not honor what I had been told over the phone, and they didn't have anything else in the store that I wanted (or that wasn't over-priced) so I settled for a store gift card. My money was held hostage for over a year because the retail store is a pain to get to in the middle of town and the website sucks (or did at the time) as it displayed a hodgepodge of leftover items that did not reflect the stores' inventory. I finally found a couple of items that used up my gift card (not a penny more!) and have neither shopped their website nor set foot in any of their stores since.

Some friends and I were traveling to Panama City Beach and stopped for ice cream at 9375 Emerald Coast Parkway. We noticed Mountain High Outfitters had clearance and sale items out front. The shoes were posted 20% off and the baskets all had same sign saying all swimsuits $20, all sales final. In the baskets were swimsuit pieces and one piece suits. Swimsuit shorts were in all baskets, all sizes. As we were unable to see the prices as they were being rung up, it was only after our transactions were completed we noticed we were charged $29.50 instead of the posted $20. When we showed her our receipts and questioned why were were overcharged, the cashier rudely told us the regular price is $59 and $29.50 is sale price and all sales are final. We were not wanting to return the shorts, we wanted the $9.50 plus tax to be credited to the credit cards. Her answer, there is nothing she could do. We asked for the manager and were told he was on break. Again, we have to ask when will he be back and were told 1:30 (it was 12:28 when we first checked out). We returned at 1:30 and instead of apologizing and correcting the over charge, he states all sales are final. He also said a customer could have put them in the basket. I quickly said the there was multiple pairs in all sizes in the baskets. Additionally, the shorts had the swimsuit liner placed in all swimsuits. Finally, and after much discussion, we were issued at credit card credit of $10.17 each.
First and only shopping experience I will have with Mountain High Outfitters!

Tip for consumers:
Make check out process so customer can view charges as the cashier rings them up AND, charge the advertised price.

I called after 3 days to check on my item since their website showed it was "processing". They said it shipped, then they said it was shipped to another store, but would be sent to me that day. Four days later I called and they weren't sure if it shipped or not. I asked the Customer Service rep to cancel my order, he said he couldn't because it had shipped, but there was no tracking information. I called my credit card company and they said I wouldn't be charged. I called Mountain High Outfitters again, no change. I tried their chat line with a different rep. They finally sent me an email that if it didn't arrive they would cancel the order. It's been two weeks now with no word from them. I don't believe they ever had the "sale" item that was advertised on Google ads, and I would not believe anything their Customer Service tells you.

I ordered an item from this website 6 days before Christmas and received a confirmation e-mail back that the the order was accepted. The item I had purchased was very difficult to find so I was very excited to know I would be receiving it on time. The item was due to arrive the day before Christmas. On the Wednesday of that same week I went on line to check the status of the order to find that there was no tracking number and it made me a little nervous so I called the company. The company sent me an e-mail about 2 hours after the call and said they had cancelled my order because the item was out of stock (this was 3 days after the order had been placed and confirmed). I called them back and the internet manager, Harvey, said there was nothing he could do. He said they were just busy and didn't find out about my order until this morning. When asked if he could give me a different jacket at the same price, he refused.

I am only writing this review of Mountain High Sports so that other people do not have to go through the same frustration and disappointment that I have endured. It is not good business or customer service to treat people in this way. I hope this helps.

I got a great deal on a Patagonia jacket, however there was a small issue with the zipper. Mountain High customer service was extremely helpful and got me a replacement sent out that same day.
