I came here to leave a good review as we're selling our home and soon won't need a lawn service company. I have in no particular order...changed my mow day with 48 hours notice. Once or twice 24 hours when I also asked for a lock to be provided so they could mow the back when on vacation. They didn't want access to my gate locks and key. Found that almost every crew is kind and tries to help me when I have questions or calls a supervisor to speak to me and answer my question They are like clockwork and reliably show as scheduled despite me sometimes moving my mow. Over the last 8 or so they've only broken one sprinkler and they promptly came the next day repaired and never questioned me. I think they might have broken glass in a door when a back pack hit possibly...but I don't have cameras so I fixed it and rearranged the space to give extra room for turning with his big blower backpack. I found they commnicate nicely through text and once i wanted a specific time because of dogs and dog door...and a guy called me back and explained why they can only give me a day. And if need specific time they might not be the best service for me. I had already experienced two poor lawn services so I became instantly happy with my day. I mostly behave as a polite homeowner and remove dog waste unlock gate if not using their lock...put away yard furniture that could hinder their speed...and pay responsiblly each week with a valid card through their automated drafts. It's a mowing and edging company and for me and those around me who use them...they do a good jjob. I've hired the hourly service beds and shrub team they charged me only for the 2 even though we went into the third and it was hard work cutting down shrubs and hauling to the curb plus raking and bagging. I don't feel I give them enough praise publicly but I always refer them if someone compliments my lawn...I water they mow regularly. The joy I have every week not having to mow my lawn is priceless. In short we might have had a few miscommunications but for the dollar, the quality and reliability they are a great lawn service company. Volume and speed are the name of the game. Ok...i'm done.

Mow Managers just stopped showing up. I called to see when they would be out next to start spring service and they said "oh, you no longer have a contract with us. We have cut back our crew and no longer service your area" It would have been great if someone let me know! This caused me extra expenses because the lawn was overgrown and had to pay another company extra due to the height of the grass. In the end it turned out well because I found a better lawn service company that not only cuts the grass but also takes care of the weeds and flowerbeds.
I cannot recommend the bed and bush service. They charge by the hour and were there for two hours when they actually worked for about 30 minutes. The men stood around talking most of the time. The original work I asked to be done was not completed and I spent over $200.00

Convenience factor of paying automatically through debit/credit card. However, they can not edge yard, fence posts and flower beds. When I complained, they asked me what type of equipement the guys were using. REALLY? Then they said they would pass this info along and HOPEFULLY it would be corrected. It was not, I cancelled the service and they could not care less. If you don't mind 14 inch strands of grass growing along the cracks of the sidewalks, grass around fence poles and grass growing into your flowerbeds, then they are for you. Definately not for me!

These are the laziest bunch of people and will look for any excuse to not mow your yard. They will only mow a part of the yard and then lie about why they did not mow the entire yard. Sometimes they even don't mow, but not report to the office that they did not mow, so you get charged.

The office staff is not much better. They are rude and always defend the crew.

If I could give zero stars, they would get zero.

2023 Review — In 2022 I had issues where Mow Managers had damaged many items in my yard with a weed eater. They in fact don't use a mower for the entire back and side yards due to small size.

I have pipes for a water softener with plastic guards to protect from weed eating so in theory items should not be damaged. But somehow the mow experts went crazy high that day and damaged items 1 foot or higher off the ground. If the damage had been more severe it could rupture my house water line. Other items were damaged as well.

Complaint was made, pictures sent, mow guys were talked to. The manager Ryan P also offered a refund of around $150 after they saw all the damage. Nice customer service but wow look at the damage list:
Pipes insulation wraps and guards were replaced
2 pool floats popped
1 neoprene pool float damaged. $100 new
Kids beach ball sliced open

Later in 2022 to 2023
Irrigation system damage.
Hanging hose damage not on ground
New plants decapitated
Backyard furniture moved significantly and not put back including a cast iron set.

So I just learned to protect more items but the future moves kept happening. I honestly did not call in most of the other damage, I just fixed items or threw them away. I made only 1 call this year due to the cost of the item and not even sure how to repair it.

5-3-2023 I noticed my cast iron furniture bench was not straight and found it broken at leg. This was definitely caused by the mow team picking up and dragging the furniture. As with last time no one called me to let me know of the damage. I had to discover it like some sort of sad scavenger hunt.

So I called in and the first person I talked to was nice and asked how much it was in cost and what I wanted – I said find a guy to weld up the leg. A manager would be calling me, I was told.

Clayton, a manager ( Not Ryan P) never did call me until our last conversation. He proceeded to send lots of texts going over this and that. They now asked for camera footage to show they did it. Then got a text saying they dont touch the furniture and " it looks pretty old and rusted out" I assumed he was talking about the break in the metal which was not rusted but its cast iron and just looks like a dark metal color. So it was old but not rusted out. I reminded him I just would appreciate a repair. Also Clayton told me this is a new crew – dont think thats true – Just ALL Awful customer service responses.

I was offered one month of service refund. I reminded Clayton who still was texting me and not calling like he said he would to review the last issue of them moving and breaking items. There is a history of I think two calls to show the team's behavior. Clayton made it clear they were going to dodge accountability so I said I don't want any refunds but if I can prove this was your guys are moving items then we can now talk about a replacement of my set of yard furniture ( yep I was a little upset). I then ordered cameras for the backyard knowing I would get the footage in a future month of moving items like they always do.
Back to the text I said it would have been nice to get a call. So he said he would call me.
Called by Clayton and it's probably the worst customer service call I ever heard. To paraphrase: Your bench and chairs are on the ground we cant guarantee the team won't move them even if we put notes on the account / counsel them ( WOW). Also new mow guys won't necessarily read the notes (WOW). So me and Ryan have decided to refund you 2 months of mows and cancel your service WHAT! – so I complain and you cancel me. You can't manage your staff damaging property so you just drop customers to fix the issue?
Also – If you have gotten this far in my story you probably just realized that Clayton said he cant stop the mow guys from moving furniture ( thus damaging) but early in our texts he said they did not move the furniture. Which is it? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I got a little snarky saying there were better ways to handle this I have worked customer service and I would want to keep a customer from posting a bad review —- I suggested that the correct response would be – We can't guaranteed our team won't move (break) your stuff we are no longer responsible if you want to use us – but that was not said. Clayton write that down.

I relayed if that's the level of customer service now with Mow Managers, I will relay this to our neighborhood and I may end up in small claims if I can't get a cheap repair. The bench is $1000 ish or more. Again I did not ever ask for that amount. Clayton said Ryan now would have to call me back and hung up.

So don't use this company! Good Price but you will pay more in property damage

This company just went onto google and used my house pic to put onto their Mailing card ad. Nobody gave them permission to do that and they never serviced my yard at all. Why would this company lie about this? They will be contacted.

Don't use them. They are in and out of my neighbors yard in less than 5 minutes and charge her $32 each time. I was tired of them blowing the debris from her yard to mine and stood in my front yard this time and they blew the debris into my yard while looking right at me. Then, they had the nerve to drive into my driveway to leave again while looking right at me.

Dear Lisa,

Although we can understand your frustration, please call into our office with you street information to give us an opportunity to address this concern. If not, please have your neighbor who has the service with us, reach out and we’ll make sure to get this taken care of.

It is not standard practice for crews to blow clippings or any debris onto other properties while serving our customers, so this is definitely something we need to address. Please call us at 210-858-6219 Mon – Fri from 8am to 6pm so that one of our representatives can assist you

We are looking forward to hearing from you.

They came, broke a window on one of our vehicles. I complained about it and they closed my account. I have been a customer for a couple years and this is how they treat people? I highly suggest anyone thinking about Mow Managers to look elsewhere. I really couldn't believe that they took no responsibility. Thanks for nothing!

Mr. Donald F.

Mow Managers is insured for any damages caused by our crews, however the investigating officer stated that the damage to the car window was NOT caused by the mowing crew and that it was most definitely criminal mischief, as was stated in her report. Per our conversation yesterday, we encourage you to report the damage to the insurance company along with the Police Report citing criminal mischief was at play.

It was decided to discontinue servicing your account after 13 months of service, due to the fact that we didn’t feel comfortable sending our crews to this location. We hope you are able to resolve this criminal activity with the SAPD & your insurance company.

We are sorry for the inconvenience to you and appreciate your business while you were a customer.

As the saying goes, "You get what you pay for" problem I didn't even get that.
Had high hopes for this company but when I came home and saw that they mowed around a branch instead of picking it up and then mowing that was when I knew I was going to have troubles. I called and they told me that they do not pick up anything in the yard but will come back once I pick up the branch and remow. Several times when they mowed they mowed unevenly which left high areas of grass and when they blow the yard everything is blown into a conrner and left there. Possibly a ok company if you have a vacant lot that needs to be mowed and you do not care how it looks.

Desiree,

Mow Managers provides mowing, edging & blowing of the grass, the service does not include picking anything up from the yard prior to service. This is why we ask customers to have the yard picked up prior to every service, which we made you aware of when you called in May. We did offer to return to re-mow once the yard was picked up since we offer a Satisfaction Guarantee when customers call in within 24 hours with any concerns. Regarding the uneven mow, we don't have any record of any claims, otherwise we would have been happy to send the crew back for a free redo.

T's unfortunate that things didn't work out & are glad you were able to find someone else to service your needs.

After being a customer for a couple of years. I made 1 request of mow crew. To trim up a small area that's grown 2 feet against my home. Then he began to blow me off and telling his partner to just leave it. Then I said but it's part of the job. He yells at me in Spanish cussing me out. So I called the office reported his actions and they cancelled my account. Owners name is Ryan Phillips. San Antonio tx. Has no. Consideration of his customers p. S I also made police report for lawn jocky threatening me.

Per our conversation, it was decided to discontinue servicing your account due to the fact that you threatened to take violent action against the helper on the crew. Your demeaning description of the crewman as a “lawn jocky” shows us your sentiment, which we find distasteful. We are sorry for this experience, which we will investigate thoroughly, however we cannot in good conscience send the crew back into that situation, so you’ll need to find a new provider.
You won’t be receiving a charge for yesterday’s service and we wish you well.

I just wanted to write a review of this company, a honest one. First off let me say I've used this company for 10 years, but since they've changed the name to MOW Managers they've gone down hill, the customer services sucks, and they really don't about you as the one paying for the service. I had a crew come to my house for there bed and brush service which $85 a hour for 2 guys, they suppose to pull out the weeds and grass in your flower bed, the guys didn't pull out anything, just use a weed eater, and not only that one of the guys of 2 left for 90 minutes, I was charged over $300, I called the company and informed them I was charged over $300 but had a video showing one of the guys was gone for 90 minutes, I never received a I'm sorry about that, or a call from a supervisor. I want to tell anyone reading this, don't not use this company, because you'll get taken to the cleaners from them, and they want care one bit!

I live between San Antonio and Buda, TX and Mow Manager has cut my S.A. lawn for several years now never had much to complaint nor praise about their service: however, my last service they didn't cut behind the trash can and the grass was uneven in spots. As dissappointing as that was I didn't complaint. On 3/14/17 my grass was to be cut and it wasn't the most disturbing thing was that someone called on the 15th because they noticed that there were two accounts in my name so she to ask I lived there or at the other address? I told her I own them both, she proceeded as if the yard has been cut and that they would be at second home Friday. Well, I went to my home in S.A. 3/15 to discover the yard had not been cut but the money was taken out of my account - when I called Mow Manager on 3/16 the lady I spoke with was going to give me a call right back and 6 hours later no call back so, I call them back the customer no service was awefull - it was there mistake and she if I cancle this week servive and the grass was 6' the price would be double... I said double for your mistake and she said "yes, double and our prices have gone up." I can only hope this was the attitude of subpar associate and not that of an owner... I agree with another reviewer 'RUN'!
