“Beware of this website, which I landed on via google,...”

Beware of this website, which I landed on via google, thinking I was calling Apple customer care! I have a macbook that totally crashed on me, and when I called, the smooth-talking agent asked if I had been online over the weekend, and when I responded yes, he said that java script had been hacked, and 5600 people had already called today with crashed macbooks. He told me they could fix it remotely with all of my files restored (yes, I'm gullible), but that could cost $320... however, for "just $250", they could provide free tech service to resolve my problem, AND it would cover all of the Apple products in our home for 2 years. Sounded like a deal to ME! After paying, they transferred me to their help desk - and guess what? After 1 hour of trying the same things over and over, they couldn't give me any advice (aside from what I'd already found online) on how to power up my macbook - and advised me that for sure my battery was dead, but I could (of course) purchase a new one. Funny, since my battery worked perfectly in my husband's macbook... We finally just called an Apple store 90 minutes away, and are taking it in for diagnosis - which is my first-step recommendation to EVERYONE. When we called mytechhelp.com one hour later to cancel our $250 "warranty" because 1) I was led to believe I was talking to Apple, and 2) their tech person totally mis-advised me, they initially refused to cancel. Then, they said they would cancel, but only for an $85 service fee. Only through increasing threats did they finally call in a supervisor, relent, and issue a full refund back to our debit card. If you have a computer problem, stay away from these people - and instead, go directly to your machine's manufacturer or a reputable local repair shop.

I googled "Iphone Apple Support" on my Iphone 5, as I was having problems syncing my photos. MyTechHelp.com's number came up and I failed to double-check the number. I called them, they acted like Apple, talked about Applecare, etc., and told me the Applecare on my computer was expiring soon (a lie), causing me to "give in" and buy a $149.99,6-month 24/7 tech support subscription. I thought I was buying supplemental Applecare. They also told me it was very prudent to buy a subscription to Intego Virus Barrier X6, emphasizing the fact that there would be a rebate sent to my email after 90 days which would offset the cost of the first year's subscription. Finally, a technician kept me on the phone for 2.5 hours, trying to fix my phone issues through remote access. He couldn't fix the problem and told me someone would call me back the next day. In the middle of the call, my credit card company called me and left a message. After I was through with the "support session" I listened to the message - my card company was alerting me of fraudulent activity, and after calling them back, we cancelled the card. I will refute the charges and also file a report with the BBB. These people are blatantly misrepresenting themselves, and also impersonating an established company. How is this legally possible?!

They pretended to be Apple and told me my warranty was up, after spending $79.99 to fix the problem, they couldn't fix it, and told me I could take my confirmation number into an Apple store and they could look up what has been tried and continue with the repairs. When I went into the apple store I found out my warranty still covered me for 140 days as well as that was not Apple I spoke to. I called and they claimed they'd refund me $29.99 which they never did... I've filed with the BBB but I want to do anything and everything I can to run this company out of business. Their ethics are HORRIBLE! I will do everything in my power to put them out of business, I will write as many reviews as it takes, I will contact as many lawyers as it takes, this company needs to be stopped. They're be-smerching apples good name, thankfully Apple went above and beyond to fix their fraud, SO PEOPLE PLEASE PLEASE GO INTO THE APPLE STORES IF YOU HAVE ISSUES! APPLE IS AMAZING! MyTechHelp.com needs to be shut down or burned to the ground, which I'm sure the more people the rip off the more likely it'll happen.
