The worst and the the most expensive store to buy plants. Warranty is a gimmick to get you to buy another plant at high prices. The tree took over 3 months to ship & when it arrived it was half dead & ended up dying shortly after planting it. Customer service didn't help at all, not only do they not cover or honor shipping on expensive plants - they raise it!

Hello Sales representative. First of all how unprofessional of you to use customer names assuming you only have one disappointed customer. Yes, you take money upfront, don't ship product for 3-4 month & don't bother to provide any updates when the trees ship, I had to reach out to you because it's been so long after I paid I almost forgot that I had ordered a tree from yall. See, other companies do that, they care about their customers, they care about the health of their trees and they follow up.

Yes, I didn't buy the $9.99 tree insurance because I already paid over $100 on the tiny tree & they offered a complementary one year warranty. The insurance isn't typically needed, if the carrier damages product they will cover the product, and with your company the "insurance" is another gimmick. Plus i don't recall you offering it last year.

Ok here's the recap on their 50% "standard" (whatever that means) guarantee within one year of purchase. First of all, they made me do a scratch test with photos of the dead tree, understandable, which I provided, even though I included pictures with my original email to them. Of course waste of time once again, jumping through hoops to get me to spend more money.

Just for your info - I am a gardener, we've planted many many trees, so I know how to care for trees & plants, NOT a newbie.

When I asked about my options here is what they said (of course I got several "Your email is not deliverable.******** DO NOT REPLY ********" messages until someone finally responded)

"Unfortunately, we aren't able to refund the 50% or match pricing"

"It's not a credit but our standard warranty coverage of up to 50% of the original plant's value towards replacement. You purchased the tree for $109.19, so we would apply half of that value towards a plant of the same price or more. If you choose a lesser priced plant, you'd owe half the current value. For example, on a $60 plant, you'd owe $30 plus shipping."

In other words, I can only get up to $54.99 for a tree of equal or more expensive value or 50% off ONE single plant/tree that's less than the original value. Don't even ask me about shipping because it doesn't make sense. How does a pack of barefoot strawberries cost to ship almost the same as a 4-5 ft tree? They quoted me approx $49.99 for the tree and approx 39.99 for the strawberries.

Oh & Nature hills doesn't have customer service reps, all their reps are sales people, assuming they have more than one. Sales people only care about making profit, no matter how awful the product they are selling is. They only thing nature hills is good at is bombarding you with emails about upcoming sales, on average 6 months emails a month, which are also a gimmick because they pose it like sales, however shipping is outrageous & all the deals have catch 22s!

And lastly I figured it out, nature hills is a RESELLER, they are not an actual nursery that grow trees. They buy trees/plants from other nurseries and resell them, makes total sense now that my tree was shipped too many times & was way too stressed to survive.

I guess I'm used to getting my trees at local nurseries because it's nice to pick one you can physically see, but lindens aren't common in my area. Nature hills wasn't my first choice, Home Depot was, but the tree I ordered from them got lost in route & then it was out of stock (my money was 100% refunded with out any additional insurance or questions), so I had no choice but to get one from nature hells.

By they way, I just got a new healthy little linden tree from online orchards for $29.99 with free shipping - triple the trunk size see pictures attached.

NH please do not contact me, I feel bullied and fooled by you. You have wasted so much of my time, time is the most precious thing we have on this earth!

Ordered a Lambert Cherry tree on 5/4/23. Delivery was delayed several weeks. Upon inquiry, customer service informed me that delivery was delayed because they were waiting on trees to become more established prior to shipment. Tree finally arrived on 6/6/23 in very poor condition. Leaves were completely wilted on arrival. It was potted in very course, poorly moisture retentive media. Cursory exploration of roots revealed poor development. Customer service was contacted again reporting the poor condition of the tree on arrival. I was advised to water the tree by immersing the pot in a bucket water. This resulted in limited improvement of the wilted leaves, but severe wilting recurred within 24 hours. Contacted customer service again and was advised to continue daily immersion watering. When I expressed concern about the longterm viability of the tree, customer service advised it was guaranteed for a year. Thus began many weeks of intensive care involving daily watering with limited improvement. I maintained contact with customer service throughout this period. Eventually, I repotted the tree into a more moisture retentive media. During repotting, it was clear how little healthy root mass the tree actually had. Repotting helped significantly, but it was mid to late July before the tree was healthy enough and able to maintain reasonable enough leaf turgor between waterings that it could be planted in the orchard. Ongoing extra care and watering throughout the growing season produced no visible new growth. Due to its poor condition on arrival and inability to sufficiently establish itself over the summer, the tree died over the winter. I planted a dozen other fruit trees which were healthy on arrival (from other sources) last spring in the same orchard and all are thriving. Upon contacting Nature Hills this spring to report the loss, despite well-documented issues from the start, they are now refusing to reimburse my purchase. They will only offer a 50% credit towards purchase of a new tree and I would have to pay for shipping. Even worse, they don't even have Lambert cherries in stock this season. I've already replaced the Lambert cherry from another nursery and it was half the cost I paid Nature Hills last spring anyway. I have never purchased trees from any other professional organization that didn't replace or refund my purchase immediately upon notification when there was a problem on delivery. Heed this warning and buy elsewhere! Deceitful customer service and warranty policies.

Everything I ordered was in excellent condition and all are doing well. I would and did recommend Nature Hills to my neighbors and family. I also found shrubs/plants I could not find elsewhere. I especially like native shrubs for the mid atlantic region and will look for more.

I recently ordered two Olive Trees from Nature Hills. Both of them arrived in great shape and thriving in our living room so far.

Plant delivered late in year. Plant did not have time to build up defense for winter or any type of growth...died over winter.
Delivered on 8/22 which late fall early winter. Why so late? Don't know!
Now only guaranteed half money spent on this dead plant. NEVER AGAIN!
Do not recommend purchase from this company.
Like a used car salesman, they try to sell extended over priced insurance policy.

I ordered a mimosa tree as a gift for my mother. Unfortunately, after waiting 3 months, it arrived with the top broken off and nearly all the leaves dead at the bottom of the box. I sent photos and called but I couldn't get anywhere with customer service. When I called, they asked me to email more photos but their responses were automated and followed a script. I understand that damage can happen during shipping but this tree isn't worth the $100 I spent on it! This isn't a company you want to do business with!

All my orders have been packaged well and ready for planting. Once planted, plants did well. If there were any problems after receiving plants, staff is very supportive and helpful.

When I received my plant upon arrival, I noticed immediately that the plant was destroyed. I tried to save it but it died shortly after arriving. I called customer service and they never called me back. I payed 75 dollars for a dead destroyed plant. Do not buy from them.

I am unable to find peony plants where I live. I ordered 3, they are all so healthy and are thriving. I then ordered 4 different day lilies. Again they are healthy and thriving. They are expensive but you get what you pay for. They are packaged really well so the plants don't get damaged but shipping can take awhile. I would highly recommend Nature Hill Nursery.

I purchased a Tropicana hybrid tea rose and wasn't sure what to expect as it was my first time purchasing a plant online. It shipped from Oregon to Kansas and arrived in pristine condition...very well-packaged! I planted the rose bush on September 6th and was just hoping to establish the plant in the ground prior to the fall weather getting colder, but less than a month later the rose bush has almost doubled in size and actually has several rosebuds about to bloom! I'm very happy with my purchase and plan to buy from Nature Hills again in the future!

The tree was very healthy upon arrival and had a very good season. I followed the instructions for planting and watering and it stayed healthy all summer.

I bought a raspberry shortcake plant from Nature Hills Nursery and followed the directions to soak 'til bubbles formed. It was delivered in such good shape that it was still moist and had no air bubbles. It's growing strong in a 25-gallon air pot! It seems to like these sunny, hot days here in Escondido (San Diego), CA.

Purchased 2 Japanese maple trees at $82 a piece. One immediately died upon receipt. Leaves were curling in when I took it out of the box. Followed instructions from customer service to pot it and try and save it. Asked for a replacement and told "you would need to pay $ 44.98,1/2 cost of the plant that died, plus 24.95 shipping costs at a total of $69.93." So it seems the customer is responsible for being delivered an essentially dead tree and then expected to pay $12 less for a replacement.

I have never ordered a tree much less two! However I have wanted a Walking Stick tree for a long time! I was pleasantly surprised how easy Nature Hills Nursery made this purchase! And the two trees I received were bigger and fuller than expected! I have planted them and they have beautiful new growth already! The price was better than I found here in my home town which was a plus also. I will certainly order from Nature Hills again!

I looked for a 3 to 4 foot pencil holly everywhere and came up empty. A buddy of mine told me about nature, hills nursery, and I went on the website. They had a 4 foot pencil holly, and it came quickly and was very healthy. I will definitely be ordering more of my plants from here. I would definitely recommend shopping here if you're looking for healthy plants.

I ordered 3 rose bushes from this firm. Two of them had over 50% of their branches broken and the bushes looked dead and dry. I requested a refund or replacement but the company service said no, their policy did not cover damages in delivery. I was forced to dispute my credit card charge for the two items.

We purchased 30 plus trees and plan for more. Products and customer service are above expectations..

Sixty percent of my purchased trees arrived with tons of holes in the leaves and broken leaves. Customer service said it's "normal" and part of their standard quality to ship out items that have endured damage due to pests or rough handling. Every single leaf had at least 5 tiny holes in a tree that only had about 15 leaves total. Many leaves were tattered, too. I can't believe the prices given the trashed appearance of what I received. I suggest going with a competitor for your landscaping needs.

I finally located the rose variety I had been looking for at Nature Hills. I had never heard of this distant nursery, but took a chance and placed my order. The plant arrived in a timely manner. I was surprised to find a mature bush with seven buds on it when I opened the box. It has settled in nicely, and looks happy and healthy a couple of months after planting. It was an investment, but will be worth it if it lives 25+ years like the other one that I have of this variety. Thank you Nature Hills.

I spent $616 for 5 seedlings put in #3 gallon containers. I will not purchase from Nature Hills again.

NatureHills.com Do not by from these horrible cheaters. I tried to cancel one of the items on my order just minutes after I placed the order and they would not cancel it. I paid $150.00 on 3 Hydrangeas which arrived late and dead. This program will only let me download 1 of the 3 pseudo plants. Those with 2 or 3 were too large. All three looked the same. $150.00 I feel like such a sucker. You can't leave a review on their site.

I ordered a catalpa tree from Nature Hills for $100 plus $20 shipping in March and planted it when it arrived. The weather was good and I watered the tree as necessary. The tree never showed a trace of life and was basically never better than a dead stick. I called the company and they said they would send out another for $50 more plus shipping. That doesn't seem like a good deal. Other stores like Santa Fe Gardens and all the local nurseries offer full replacement. I will not buy from Nature again but will shop locally with a reputable company that doesn't just send out dead sticks.
