In my continuing Orbitz saga, the latest outrage. The airline canceled my flight. I went to Orbitz to see that they had credited my account for the canceled flight, which had (with a fight) been purchased with credits from a previous transaction. Customer service told me I needed an itinerary number. It was on the confirmation they sent me when I booked the flight. I gave it to them. It referred to a PAST flight from last June! They told me they couldn't help me because I couldn't provide a correct itinerary number, which their system had sent to me! There was no credit for the canceled flight. After a lengthy 'discussion' and threats of escalation, they found my canceled flight and restored my credits. I can't wait to see what happens when I next try to use those credits. Their policies and practices are geared toward keeping your money and making it extremely difficult to use credits.

Tip for consumers:
Avoid this site entirely. They are thieves. When you hit a bump, document every conversation and be insistent when they fail to satisfy. Ask to speak to a supervisor or a legal representative who is authorized to satisfy your request. Don't give up. But best is to avoid them entirely.
