“Easy and cheap to use with xero”

I see most of these reviews are quite old, so perhaps that's what the difference is but I personally have found Paymate to be friendly, helpful and easy to reach. I found signing up to their service very simple, my account was approved the next day. I particularly like the button I was able to create and add to my xero invoices. I have had no issues with receiving payments.

I recently received an email from this company telling me that my credit card payment for goods had been approved. Huh, what? Why did i receive an email to tell me that my payment has been approved. My payments are always approved. If i didnt have the $ then i wouldnt hv made the payment and if i had insufficient funds then the payment would have been rejected by the bank and I wouldnt have been able to make the transaction. Why on earth would i want to get an email from a middle man biz telling me that my payment was approved? When i buy petrol for my car, i dont expect to get an email from the servo advising that i bought petrol, when i buy a coffee, i dont expect for the waitress to come over and tell me that i just bought a coffee. I have previously been awarded best biz person in Australia... this company has to be at the other end of the spectrum. The lady did reply to my query (which i appreciated) as to why i got the useless email. She advised me that most customers appreciate them. Hmmm, not sure whether to think that its a porky or just customer ignorance or maybe belligerence. So i googled "paymate review" and your website came up. They hv such a low score. I now understand that "most customers appreciate" the junk mail was purely from a perspective of belligerence

Paymate are cowboys.
I bought an item on ebay, paid for it at checkout, Paymate took the money from my credit card immediately but then didn't pay the seller for several days.
My delivery now falls into the next period and I won't get the stuff for an EXTRA several weeks.
These people are incompetent: they do not deserve to hold a financial services licence.
I urge everyone who has problems with them to lodge a complaint with APRA

Customer service is rude and condescending. After enquiring about a payment I made, I got a lecture about how many thousands of dollars THEY had lost in fraud. Payment not completed after two days.
Customer service rep- after being asked to not ever email me again because of their rudeness- emailed back 'whatever' and ' all this for a $40transaction' I wonder what dollar value their give-a-damn does kick in? Stay away!
Oh and the kicker? This customer service rep is the head of customer service, then again there may only be one.

They work so primary and irresponsible.

I made a purchase through them and cancelled prior to shipping of the product, until today I have not recived the money. They claim that the seller has not sent the money for them, and if they don't send the Paymate will not pay me. They arbitrate the transaction and not liable for nothing!

The service is primary, they report that take up to two days to reply, which is absurd, but in fact, they often take more than a week!

The site is terrible and works with other dishonest sites like as www.trendy-fashions.com

I have been with Paymate for approx 8 years, it use to be an excellent company, but not since about 2 months ago. Here is my latest experience with them
1.6 months after purchase i get a charge back, i refuse to allow Paymate to issue a refund and ask them to explain. First email stated that security system is very good and it did not pick up on any problems. I did not accept that, hence if there was no problems, and items were posted with proof then too bad. In response i was then told that the details do not match to the bank. So Paymate accepted payment even when personal info did not match card holder.
2. I asked paymate to issue partial refund. 2 weeks later i get email, they have debited my account and will refund within 24 hours. 4 weeks later customer still has not received a refund. Customer and myself both sent emails-all gone un-answered.
3. With that same chargeback, i advised Paymate that i do not authorize them to debit my account. Same night my account was debited. Had to contact the bank and bank took back the money
4. Got payment which i asked to cancel about 30 mins after getting it, sent email asking to cancel and refund. Few hours later received email from Paymate confirming the receipt of email and matter has been escalated to refunds. 24 hours later get email, confirmation of payment into my account. 7 days later refund still not processed.
5. On that same day(chargeback story) was meant to get some money into my account, but none came through. Called Paymate and was told they had bank connectivity issues. So there was no issue to debit money, only to credit money.

Now filed complaint with the Ombudsman and still nothing is fixed and not even an apology or refunds to the customers.

So be aware and if anything stay away from Paymate

Paymate was always slow in forwarding funds to my bank from my sales however now it is intolerable. They say they are going through a transition from one bank to another but it is creating a nightmare for my little business. I have not received funds from my sales in over a month. When I finally can find someone to email (not an easy task) they want the tracking information on my packages so they can check with my customers. I provided this and still I do not have my funds. In the meantime a new sale came in and the payment was disapproved. The customers bank says there is no problem and his credit card company says Paymate never submitted a charge to them. My guess is they just disapproved the payment without processing it because of their transition. What a way to run a business... now I have a customer who is upset and so am I.

Oh and did I mention that the new bank wants all my personal information again to review to see if they want my business. I provide it and within a few days I get an email that I was disapproved. The next day I get an emailed apology that the disapproval email was sent in error.

Just give me my funds from my sales that you are holding hostage Paymate and then I say GOOD RIDDANCE!

Here is my experience. Opened PayMate account, to receive $22 for the sale of an item at ebay and its postage.

Item sold June 6,2010. Received the PayMate notice that buyer paid. Within seconds, another one - payment cannot be accepted for security reasons - $22 FROM CREDIT CARD WITH NO LIMITS. In 4 days, after much back and forth wrote to the buyer, but not to me that payment had gone trough. Kept talking about security FOR A $22 cc payment.

Have never sent me an email message, telling that the payment had been received and I should ship my item to the buyer. But, at long last, confirmed int he email that payment had processed, saying that, because of the problems with their web site, I did not get the promised message. When I asked why the payment still not marked at ebay as received, the answer of the alleged VP of sales, marketing, and client services, Greg Quinn, was that ebay had been working on this well known problem. There was no answer to my remark that they can wait for a long time for their competitor to fix the problem

First told me that my payment would be deposited to the bank in a few days, because they need time 'to establish relationship with me". Then that payment would be deposited June 14,2010, This is after they had confirmed my bank account! And this is for deposit of whatever is left after they took their fees.

On June 14,2010 they told me that my payment "cleared".
As of today, June 24,2010, they made no deposit to my bank, they closed my PayMate account without my permission, and nobody replies to emails, asking of whereabouts of my payment.

The alleged VP of the alleged customer service is rude beyond measure and incompetent beyond 10 measures.

The web site design leaves much to be desired, but presently it does not matter, because, it looks like, the web site is for conducting fraudulent operations

I hoped PayMate will straighten PayPal aout, providing healthy competition, But they are worse than PayPal, which I did not think could be possible

Their new mobile payment product Paymate on the go is great, I was set up in less than an hour and can now take payments with my Iphone. Also, unlike what others have mentionned above, their customer support was very friendly and proffesssional.
