“Voicemail from PCM.com whom I've never heard of”

Sinthetic N.
3/2/23

Received a call from *******246 out of Leary, Ga from a company I've never dealt with before. Of course I didn't answer but they left the following voicemail… "Account currently we do not have any bankruptcies disputes or tax forms sent or received on this account so it is still outstanding and needs to be resolved as soon as possible all online settlements have been temporary early reduced and you can schedule your payment or payment plan for any day you prefer please make a time to call us back today or go to our website to resolve this as it is important our website address is go to pcm.com that is gotopcm.com By law I am required to inform you this is an attempt to collect the debt thank you…" I looked up the url to find reviews and ended up here. From the reviews I've read, I'm gathering this is an IT supply company but I haven't visited their website. Only reason I can think of as to why, if it's a scammer (likely so,) that they're messaging me is in a network Architect and have been in IT over 20 years. I'm glad for the other reviews here. The only way we can let each other know about these things is awareness and sites such as these that allow us to find information that may typically be difficult to find.

I placed my order online, and a day later I receive a phone call that they needed to verify information because my shipping address was not the same as my billing address. I informed the agent that my shipping address is my work address, and she was determined to know the name of the business or they would not place the order. She used the excuse that she was trying to protect my credit card information, but what does the name of my business have to do with the shipping address on my personal credit card?! Because of her persistence, I told her to cancel my order.

Because of this issue, I have notified our procurement team for our business to cease our business relationship with them.

Worst customer service and order filling I've ever seen. When ordering Server from dropdown we selected Server 2016 and then added extra 4 core license to order. What we got was 2 of the same 4 core licenses and now OS DVD or link to get it. Called and after 30 minutes they tell my I have to buy software separately for $300+. That was not an option when selecting OS. Decided to by OS somewhere else and return these 2 - 4 core licenses. Called and started RMA process and told we'd get email that day with RAM label to return. Nothing for a week so called again and told again we'll here within a day. Nothing; then called and they said do to holiday they are behind and our request is in the queue. A month goes by and still nothing. Called today and now they say we'll get an update within 24hr. What a joke.

I had gotten a phone call on 10/5/2015 at 6:16 PM from phone number *******000 claiming that my laptop has been sending out malware alerts to them and/or Dell. Now, from a number that comes from Dallas, Texas, this "technician" sure was hard to understand and sounded more like a scam artist. "Technician's" name was "John John" (What? Lol), he wanted me to run this operation "www.sss.re/8y92" which brought me to a 404 error web page, this loser was losing his patience saying that I'm not typing it in correctly, and he was getting mad because he had to repeat a few things a few times. This was more of a scammer than a technician as computers do not send out alerts to companies such as Dell (in my case), I played along to see if this was a scam and indeed was. I myself study computer systems maintenance, and the way to tell if your computer has Malware or any harmful software is to scan it regularly, your computer cannot send out notifications about its status as it is merely a machine. Humans know when something is wrong with themselves and can go to the doctor, a computer doesn't know when "it's feeling" bad and does not go see the "doctor" or seek help, it just bothers you with popups.
