“So sad to see this website gone”

Kara S.
1/15/18

I never had any problems with any of the dresses, aprons, hair pins, and head coverings I ordered. The quality of the dresses was wonderful. Over the recent years I could not afford to replenish my dresses as they wore out from many years wearing and working in them. I especially loved the detachable cape dresses, I had 3 of those, in black, dark blue, and burgundy they fit to my measurements and were so great for being modest out in this sinful world. I am trying to find a seamstress who can make me a black cape dress at this time, and truly miss Kimberly and her talented seamstresses.

I had the same experience as many others... I ordered in August 2011. I received half of the order in November, but by this spring still had not received the rest. I sent a few emails, only to hear back from her in July with the story about the website being hacked from Russia. I will say that she did send the second half of the order by the end of August, and it was very high quality, better than I had expected actually. Maybe the Russia hacking story is true? Anyway if you do want to order from this site, stay on top of it and know it will likely take a while and perserverance to get what you order. But I am pleased with the merchandise I received.

Same experience as others. Wait and wait, site is labeled as threat to computers. Someone responded with a blackberry text to me after I revoked payment. I find that odd for Amish. Stay away!

Please do not order from this company. It's a scam. They respond quickly when you send your order and credit card info, but they don't respond to email request on order status. I've contacted watsontown, pa police and filed a complaint, and my credit card co, which are disputing the charges. M. bryan

If I were you, I would not order from this company! I ordered one thing (thankfully ONLY one) in Sept. 2012 and still have not received my order. I requested a refund (or that they send my item) about a month ago and I still haven't received anything.
I will never order from this company again. The site seemed to be reputable because they have supposedly fulfilled orders for all those book covers, so I decided to give them a chance despite the bad reviews. That was not a wise decision.
It's a shame they claim to be Christian, because I feel they are setting a bad example. And just to let you know I have contacted them several times and received empty promises about my items being shipped out or looked into, etc.

Thankfully, I did find someone online that lives in Lancaster, PA and she has been able to fill all my needed orders at a reasonable price. Her customer service is great and shipping is fast. She can usually find what you're looking for if she doesn't have it in stock. This is her email: *******@yahoo.com. I HIGHLY recommend her.

Hope this helps someone!

Kimberly Hamm the Shamm is what the Modest Dressed think of her and her shoddy operation. She is a consummate liar and CHEATS the seamstresses she commissions. PLEASE DON'T ORDER FROM HER; the garments are not sewn well at all, and the material is cheap. AND SHE TELLS YOU TO SEND BACK if it isn't to your spcifications -- BUT YOU WILL NEVER SEE A REFUND. I've know her for years, she reconstructed her website because she had so many complaints and hasn't business for her has slacked. YOU HAVE BEEN INDEED FOUND OUT HAMME THE SCAMME -- IN PENNSYLVANIA AND SURROUNDING STATES AS WELL!

I too seem to have been taken. All of the previous 10 reviews are just as I am experiencing at the present.

Same for me as others. My order never came, she never responded to emails, I am going to go to call my credit card company now and see if i can get a chargeback. What a shame, I have generally found vendors who sell plain to be honest, but I guess there's always those ready to take advantage.

I agree with the above comment. This site seems to be a SCAM. You pay for items, wait many months 3+ and nothing comes. Emails come back as postmaster failure. How convenient. Stay away.

I got my money back when I threatened her with BBB, posting on negative review sites, but most of all, the FBI. It seems the FBI investigates online fraud and I said she had enough complaints posted online (I have no idea how many complaints they require for action! I just read that about the FBI following online fraud. Otherwise, all I know about the FBI is from Criminal Minds). Of course I got a sob story email and a little later an email stating that she had put money on my credit card--impossible as it was a single use card. She sent me a post office money order the day I told her she couldn't have done that. I didn't read the sob story because if you are honorable you stop taking orders, even close the site, when you can't fulfill them because (this dates me) "you're drunk the day your mama gets out of prison and the train runs over your dog in the rain" or however the song goes. Good luck!

I bought a prayer cap, some hair pins and an Amish dress. This was back in March of this year. I sent so many emails, they all came back. I looked and looked, finally found her shops phone # online. I left a Not nice message, and with in a Week I received part of my order. Still waiting for my dress. She enclosed a letter, stating that her family home had a fire and she was gone for a month and the reason for the emails getting returned is that her site was hacked from someone in Russia. The funny thing was that I did all this in May and that's when I finally got my stuff (part of it) but then in August, I got another package of the same order. I guess that's she had finally got to my order and sent it to me, but she didn't realize that she had already sent my stuff back in May. But with as much crap she put me through, I didn't tell them. Not like you can get a hold of her in the first place :/ Anyways, I hope this helps all of you guys to get your orders. I will say this, the stuff she makes or has made is really quality stuff, so u won't be disappointed in that :) -Jacquie

Look out for this website. She takes orders online, charges for items, then does not send the order.
