Claim Your BusinessI'm really disappointed with Price Chopper in Watertown, NY. I shop there and I have my prescriptions sent there. Today I needed an important prescription but I was too sick to drive to get it. I checked online and found that they would deliver for $5. So, I called the pharmacy. They told me that Watertown Price Chopper doesn't do this and that I could have it mailed out but that would not happen until next Tuesday, 4 days from now. I finally called a cab and had it delivered. Now I will not only start using a pharmacy that will deliver but I will be checking everything when I shop at Price Chopper. I don't trust them anymore.

As a California transplant who recently moved to Oneida County and am admittedly spoiled with the top quality of Whole Foods, I knew it would be an uphill battle finding organic fruit and vegetables as it is mostly hit and miss out here in central New York. I had never heard of Price Chopper but was desperate to find a high quality supermarket that sold more organic items than the local Walmart. So I tried out Price Chopper in North Utica.
First, I was impressed--and although they lacked the organic fruit I wanted I thought the store had some nice touches so I returned several times. But unfortunately, the execution doesn't match the Price Chopper concept. Sale prices aren't properly scanned into their items and are inconsistent, particularly the meat items. I attempted to buy organic chicken that was "on sale" and was told the register would reflect the sales price but when I checked my receipt at home it had rung up at the higher, non-sale price. I also purchased Certified Angus Beef chuck roast, also on sale (which had been marked with the sales flyer price, so why couldn't they do that with the chicken?) that was just awful, it was inedible and 100% gristle and fat. Certified Angus Beef is supposed to be the top of the line and but this was a total waste of money.
I am hoping I could find somewhere besides Walmart Supermarket to buy groceries so I'm still looking. Price Chopper's prices are consistently higher--and actually that wouldn't bother me if the quality was there--but without decent cuts of meats and their inconsistent pricing it's not worth it. The hunt for a high quality supermarket continues.
