“BEWARE”

BEWARE. This site was featured in People Stylewatch, unfortunately, or I would never would have heard of them. Hindsight is 20/20. They claim to be a US (New York!) based company, but they are actually in Indonesia. The first warning sign was a paypal checkout that added a tax that is never mentioned on the website. Then they don't give you an actual total or a receipt reflecting how much money they will actually take from paypal. I declined to complete my order and then they bombarded me with emails asking me to do so. They "waived" the tax. So I placed an order, and a month later I received a shoe with a 3.5 inch heel on a 4.5 inch heel last. It looked like the heel had been cut off and a rubber tap glued on it. I emailed and asked if that was standard construction for their "master craftsmen", as it is NOT a standard in the shoe industry. One last for each heel height is a standard at Payless shoe source, let alone a $200 custom made shoe. No response within a week. I emailed again and told them I felt I had no choice but to return the shoes. I asked them to correct the mistake or refund my money. No response or explanation again. I was now past the Paypal dispute resolution window, and they offered zero help. I emailed again and again, and was finally told that the production manager was reviewing my return, as this was most likely a case of "I don't like my shoes." Another MONTH goes by, no response to emails. No follow up with the production managers decision. I finally ask for a refund. There policy says they will only refund 50%. I just want to be done. They keep telling me they will send the money. But they don't. Two and half months after I placed the order, they have my money, they have the poorly constructed shoes, and I have silence from them. Save yourself the hassle and go to Shoes of Prey, who will kill themselves to make you happy. Project Shoe is not worth the hassle and will not survive in the US.
