“Comfort for a middle-aged man”

Dave B.
6/8/19

So as I got older, Mother nature took away what little padding I had on my rear end. I bought the Challenger and have been very happy. I really like the way the seat gives in the center when I fit bumps.

I am 58 and wanted to use biking as a way to stay fit and keep my weight down. This seat, the Storm quest is what I ride, allows me to ride my 15-20 mile loops in comfort. I like that I have a wider platform to hold me up and although the horn is smaller than normal, you still have enough to steer and have control of the bike.
I am riding long and more often than before and have no numbness or pain. The claims made on this site are true.

I had just about given up biking when I was given this seat as a birthday present. I love it! The seat has a slight flex while you ride it and somehow I no longer feel that "burn and numbness" I used to get.
The site says; truly comfortable riding and they are correct. I did also call with a question about adjustment and the staff was very helpful.

Tip for consumers:
If you limit your riding because of seat discomfort, this may help.

I'm over 50 and needed a more comfortable bike seat. It took a bit of adjustment to get the seat "just right". But it works. In fact, I forget about the seat while I am riding and just concentrate on the ride. This Carbon comfort seat has made riding enjoyable again because there is no burning on my bum!

From the business

Dear Customer,
My name is Jeri Rutherford, age 54 and I am the inventor of the Carbon Comfort Bike seat, the world’s most comfortable bicycle saddle.
I hold the patent and trademarks for both RideOut Technologies, the company that distributes the Carbon Comfort saddle line and the saddle itself.
We have been selling worldwide three seat models and one bag.
There are 19 million bikes sold in the USA every year*. Within that number, five categories are tracked: children’s, mountain, road, hybrid/comminuting and comfort/cruising. Of those categories, there is growth in only two groups, comfort and commuting. The Carbon Comfort bike seat is optimized for these types of bikes. The growth opportunities are huge.
Independent Bike Dealers report that for every bike sold, there are two saddles sold. That tells us almost everybody is unhappy with their bike seat. Standard bike seats don’t discriminate-they make everybody miserable.
Finally, a solution, the Carbon Comfort had won praise from industry experts to the casual rider. Independent University** and lab testing shows this is a better seat. In the past, there really has not been anything different about bike seats, some have holes, some are hard, some soft, bigger or smaller but they are all the same-uncomfortable. Until now, Carbon Comfort bike seats, university proven to be the world’s most comfortable seat!
On a personal note, I am a single woman who deiced one day to build a better seat. I bought a welder, a welding helmet and went to work in my garage. It took seven years and dozens of prototypes, and the result is a truly comfortable, lightweight bike seat.
The Carbon Comfort, buy it for the comfort, ride it for life.
Best regards,
Jeri Rutherford

Business History

A Better Bike Seat

“I have always believed that if we could make a more comfortable bike seat, we could change the world.” said Jeri Rutherford, inventor of the carbon comfort bike seat. “The average car trip in the US is less than 5 miles, imagine the difference, politically, economically, environmentally and personally to our waist lines, it would make if we just ride those miles on a bike and not in a car.”

It was on a long cross-state ride that Jeri became so sore from riding she ended up pushing her bike down a seemingly endless highway. After trying a full range of existing seats and realizing “a bad design padded; is still a bad design. I knew there had to be something better” she said, “so I went to work”. About 50 prototypes and many years later the Carbon Comfort seat was born.

Made from injected carbon fiber the patented “crossbow suspension technology” absorbs and dampens road shock and vibration. The thermal molded base plate matches the body autonomy and biodensity foam under the sit bones provide extra comfort. The seat is topped with a Kevlar cover with a 3M reflective safety patch built in. Using reverse engineering to assert the least amount of pressure on the perineum, the seat design supports and allows you to sit on your sit bones, achieving correct weight distribution. This riding position relieves nerve pressure and increases blood flow in the region, something which normal seats can reduce by up to 70% leading to all sorts of potential health problems.

“The best part is when consumers write to me and tell me they are riding more, losing weight and having fun. That is just wonderful to hear! Jeri said, “Changing the world, one seat at a time”.
