What's up with this site and its users? They create profiles, don't do much, and then vanish. Is everyone so bored that they make roleplay profiles for no reason? If you're expecting serious roleplay here, forget it because most people are just messing around and wasting time.

Let me give you an example: about six months ago, a user said they wanted to roleplay, but then they went silent and left the next day. Now, this same person came back with a second profile, same character and name, claiming they wanted to roleplay again. But guess what? They did the same thing, disappearing after one day. It's not just them; I've seen it with others too. It's strange – creating the same profile repeatedly with the same name and layout. Apparently, having 10 profiles of the same character is a thing here.

This site is terrible for roleplaying. You might get responses to your greetings, but try planning an RP, and people agree but never follow through. Also, be ready for everyone to claim real-life issues as an excuse for not responding – it's a common theme here. I genuinely don't get why people stick around because not much happens. It seems like it's mainly for immature folks with a lot of drama they want to bring into other people's lives.

I've been on and off of the site for years. I've managed my own websites, and acted as co-admin in others and seeing the gross way this site is managed constantly leaves me disgusted. I've been writing in rp environments for over fifteen years. The way that this website is constantly mismanaged is honestly outstanding. It is constantly flooded by pedophiles (in which the admin claims are "taken care of quickly" — they aren't) and bigots (anything ranging from good ol' boy racism to stark hypocritical sexism) and the owner thinks it's a decent outlet to shove their religion down their users throat while claiming it is a "family website" are really just the tip of this sewage water iceberg.

Reporting users does nothing unless there's a woman somewhere in the picture that might have nipples. Theft of original content runs rampant on this site. If you're looking for plagiarism and someone to rip-off your intellectual property, roleplayer.me is the place for you! Especially if you don't have a copyright attached to it...and I'm betting you don't! What really adds to this cesspool of noxious mental illness and blatant disregard for others is the abuse of other members all the way from doxing to verbal abuse and slander. Yet, the owner still won't ban users' IPs or DNS.

The ads are incessant and uncontrolled on this website, predictably because the owner actually has no idea on how to run a website and wants their pockets lined with whatever feeble coin might be tossed their way just so users feel that the site is accessible and user-friendly.

Tip for consumers:
Don't.

How does a site like this even exist? No one on here actually roleplays, so don't let the site's name fool you. This platform is filled with people who only create profiles to accept as many friend requests as possible to feed their low self-esteem. The most you'll get from users here is a response to your greeting, but expect it to go as far as this. After discussing this with other users here, they also share the same opinion.

One behavior you'll immediately notice here is that those you speak with will act interested in roleplaying, but they only intend to lead you on so they can ignore you. This happens all the time with almost every user on here. I can't tell you how often I've discussed a roleplay with someone or sent a starter only to be met with silence. However, if you message them again later on, they will immediately respond. Coincidence? I think not. Just about everyone here is a troll and immature, who is only on to waste their time and yours.

I can't tell you how many new profiles I see created, only to be abandoned within a week or two. What's hilarious is these new profiles do nothing and don't even interact which should show how bored these people must be when they have to sit around creating roleplay profiles. Also, please pay attention to the profiles because chances are, they are the same person running those new accounts. I have seen on many occasions people who claim they are jumping between accounts, so be aware that every profile on here is probably a person with 20 accounts that they log into. That's why you'll end up seeing a plethora of shapes portraying Selena Gomez because here, she seems to be the most attention-grabbing figure. Sadly, there can't be any unique characters to roleplay with, but unfortunately, users here prioritize using sexualized images of their characters to get you to notice them. That's mainly because this is a smut site where just about every male user here has no intention of writing a story but instead wants to treat every female like a sex object.

I wish I could speak more on the roleplaying aspect of things, but it's nearly impossible to get a roleplay started here. From what I have experienced, all I can say is don't expect much. As previously stated, it's nothing more than guys with strange fetishes wanting smut or females who flirt and then ignore you. From the little writing I have seen here, it's pretty pathetic. Not to say there aren't good writers on here; I have seen quite a few, but unfortunately they are rarely active. The rest are terrible writers who want to be lazy, stick with one-liners, and need punctuation.

I'll end my review by saying don't join this site because it's a waste of time. People here don't want to roleplay. They don't want to interact. Their only intention is to be lazy, immature, and inconsiderate trolls, so stay away.

On to the important stuff now. This site is garbage, worse than roleplay.me but not by much. The ads are purposely made so numerous just so you can pay 3 dollars for premium to get them removed. If not the lag on this site is insane. Why I would EVER give my debit info to a website that has a connection that STILL isn't secure (good job updating and maintaining the site) is beyond me. If you do not join an rpg you will just constantly run into storylines that fizzle out. Otherwise you apparently need an rpg/clique on here to function. Children DO dominate this website, see? The adults here are typically far from mature so kids should have no problem fitting in anyway. If you want to engage in pedophilia and beastiality this is the site to be on. Those nasty looking accounts keep getting churned out nonstop via profile pictures of a single dog or a girl younger than 12 looking all suggestive, etc. Kinda obvious what these people who need to get shot are aiming for. I would suggest they change the name of this site to plentyofdeadfish.com because that's what the comprehension, interaction and energy levels on here are like. Please. Stay AWAY. I would highly recommend Twitter or writing on a looseleaf paper at home other than this weirdly delusional stuck up site. If you cant tell the difference between RP and reality and you want to further run the art of writing into the ground while making fake online friends when you can just go on socialcrave you will be welcomed with open arms on here. POINTLESS FOR REAL WRITERS. YOUR WORK WILL NOT BE APPRECIATED/CARED FOR IF IT DOESN'T FIT THE PC CROWD'S IDEALS. MOVE. ON.

I've been off and on with this site for years, but the site always stays the same. While I agree with all the reviews below, I will focus more on this site's roleplaying aspect. In simple terms, it's a site meant for roleplaying, but good luck finding one. You'll be met with pages filled with similar playbys like Selena Gomez, Nina Dobrev, or even a wrestler and model in very suggestive clothing. At this point, low self-esteem shows throughout this site with its common trend of people playing beautiful Hollywood actresses or models with perfect bodies. They don't want to roleplay; they want to gather a following to garner attention. Clearly, there are folk who live on this site just churning out profiles like mass production. It's evident when all the profiles are structured the same way or have the same name font, almost like they are in a clan. I've even encountered others claiming they have multiple accounts. So be aware that new users on this site are likely individuals you've met before.

As previously mentioned, this place isn't about roleplaying. It's where users create a profile and devote all their time to customizing it as if trying to win a contest for best profile editing. This is hysterical because it's always guaranteed that people will abandon their accounts within a week, if not less. Meanwhile, if you're lucky enough to interact with anyone, you might get a response from your introduction message, but it's rare if conversation exceeds this. If brought to their attention, they will become defensive and claim they are "Busy" or have "Lives" as an excuse for their lack of responding, yet they constantly post and interact with certain friends in the comments section on their wall. I understand roleplaying is a hobby, and life happens, but what's the point of even being on the site if you're telling people they might have to wait two weeks for a response? It's not a hobby if you only do it once every two weeks. I have a job and life, but I still find time to get responses. It's an excuse to disguise their unwillingness to roleplay. They don't take it seriously, and they only jump on to banter with their certain friends that they consider "worthy" when they can.

Another common theme on this site is having your friend request rejected. You'll always get denied if your character isn't a model with an eight-pack or a favorite ship among that person's verse. Even those encouraging characters unrelated to their verse still get turned down. I understand having a preference, but at least elaborate on that preference. Everyone on this site is extremely picky and only desires smut or some bizarre fetish. One user asked me if they could send me a starter. I said I wanted to discuss a plot before jumping into a roleplay. She instantly blocked me for making a harmless suggestion.

If you're fortunate enough to engage in a roleplay, be prepared for disappointment. Writers here roleplay like they are in grade school. They may be. Who knows. Or it could be adults who decided never to grow up and take an English class. For example, not only do the roleplays consist of one-liners that aren't engaging, but you might receive a paragraph that lacks detail and is nothing more than a complete run-on sentence. When I read some of these roleplays, I remember how painful it must have felt for my English teacher to read my writing back when I was a child. Ultimately, If you want to join a site and feel like you're stepping back into grade school where you find groups of people getting together so they can bull$#*!, act immature, and stir up drama, then Roleplayer.me is for you.

Roleplayer.me claims to be a thriving hub for roleplaying enthusiasts where creative minds can come together and explore immersive fictional worlds. However, my experience with this website has been nothing short of disappointing. Let me delve into the myriad issues plaguing this platform, leaving users longing for a genuinely engaging roleplaying experience.

One of the most striking observations about Roleplayer.me is the lack of genuine roleplaying and interactions. Roleplayer.me has unfortunately become a hub for mundane individuals who lack creativity and respect. The introductions alone are a clear indication of the prevailing mindset on this site, with many users radiating an overtly sexual tone that overshadows any potential for engaging conversations or meaningful roleplaying experiences. Instead of putting effort into crafting intriguing and thought-provoking interactions, the majority seem content with one-word greetings or responses such as "Hi," "Sure," or "How are you?" Using one's brain to foster stimulating conversations has become a rare occurrence in 2023, as evidenced by the shallow mindset prevalent on this platform.

The troubling truth is that many users on Roleplayer.me prioritize smut above all else, seeking instant gratification rather than investing in compelling storytelling or character development. This focus on explicit content fosters an environment where men mainly believe that using cheesy and terrible pickup lines entitles them to engage in smut roleplays. It is disheartening to witness the objectification of women within these interactions. These individuals need real-world interaction and the opportunity to genuinely communicate with the opposite sex. How they objectify and reduce women to mere objects of desire is disappointing and downright disgusting.

Another common trend is that of false promises made by users on here. It is a recurring pattern to come across individuals who, on their profile walls, proclaim their commitment to respond promptly, either that same night or the following morning, only to vanish from the site for an extended period, often a month or more. While it is understandable that users have lives beyond the platform and that real-life obligations should take precedence, the consistent nature of these unfulfilled promises raises questions about their purpose. What drives individuals to continually make commitments they have no intention of honoring? Encountering numerous accounts that pledge engagement in roleplaying or promise activity on specific dates, only to witness these promises fall by the wayside repeatedly, is disheartening, to say the least. It begs one to ponder why someone would be on a roleplaying site if their real-life commitments are overwhelming. Regardless, it becomes clear that some users prioritize quantity, maintaining an active presence by logging in daily and amassing extensive friend lists. However, their true motivations revolve around seeking self-validation rather than actively participating in meaningful interactions. Such behavior undermines the core essence of roleplaying and leaves devoted users feeling neglected and disenchanted.

Roleplayer.me is rife with users who exhibit a strong sense of selectivity, often rejecting friend requests or blocking other individuals. While personal preferences are understandable and should be respected, the sheer frequency of these rejections raises questions about the underlying motivations behind such actions. It leaves one to ponder whether these users derive satisfaction from turning down requests or if it serves to assert a sense of power and control.

For male users, gaining acceptance on the site can be particularly challenging unless they present themselves with a profile picture depicting a hyper-masculine figure, complete with an eight-pack and bulging muscles. The platform seems to revolve solely around indulging our most carnal desires. This singular focus on physical appearance and sensual passions creates a narrow framework for evaluating and accepting users. As a result, those who do not fit into this mold should be prepared for many rejections when sending out friend requests.

Another aspect of concern on Roleplayer.me is the noticeable presence of cloned profiles, suggesting the existence of clans or roleplay families within the community. These accounts share a striking structure similarity, leading to speculation that certain groups may be actively churning out these profiles. To make matters worse, some individuals even resort to creating multiple accounts, potentially engaging in stalker-like behavior and confronting others if they happen to block one of their profiles. Such experiences are not uncommon, and they raise valid concerns about the overall atmosphere and conduct within the site.

However, a more significant issue lies in the disproportionate focus on
Wrestlers, models, and actresses within the female account pool, particularly Selena Gomez. Observing the overwhelming majority of profiles dedicated solely to Gomez, alongside other notable figures like Mila Kunis and Nina Dobrev, is perplexing. While these individuals undoubtedly possess talent and charisma, the excessive concentration on one celebrity creates an unvarying and stagnant environment. This lack of diversity inhibits the exploration of alternative storylines and character dynamics, limiting the potential for creativity and growth within the roleplaying community.

In conclusion, Roleplayer.me fails to live up to its promises as a platform for passionate roleplayers seeking immersive experiences. The site's obsession with explicit roleplays, the lack of genuine creativity, and users' disengagement despite their consistent presence all contribute to a disappointing and unsatisfactory experience. If you seek a thriving and imaginative roleplaying community, it is advisable to look elsewhere, as Roleplayer.me falls far short of delivering on its supposed purpose.

After paying for ad removal, a person tried to add me with my real name and had my location on their profile. I tried to submit a complaint about it but the owner only assured me it a coincidence. People, despite the roleplaying restrictions tend to add and request things I don't play, espeicially erotika accutns. Not safe for children to play on this site. It is def 18+ kind of site.
