I worked in Energy industry 41 years same company (not Octopus) and I can say they are best of the bunch for customer service.
A generally user-friendly website but there is no getting away from the fact that Octopus are part of the great energy swindle of 2022 as the world's population is screwed into increasing poverty by the super-wealthy. Octopus repeatedly over-charge and take far more in direct debits than we use each month, under the rationale that this budgets for the year. We had £540 credit on our account from over-billing. Multiply this by millions of customers and Octopus are raking in massive profits on interest alone. It's disgusting. Blaming all of this on Russia is a fairy story that only children would believe. There is also no doubt that the extortion being used to drive gas and electricity prices through the roof (even though much of the electricity is generated from renewable resources and is therefore not directly dependent upon gas, oil or coal!) will undoubtedly kill many people who simply can no longer afford to stay warm enough to survive the winter. As far as I'm concerned there are no good guys or innocent parties in the energy industry, and Octopus share their part in the scandal. Our energy bills have more than doubled and look set to increase even more as the poor are exploited by the wealthy under the pretext of war and unavoidable shortages. Octopus are also incentivising the use of highly toxic 'SMART meters' that emit microwave radiation in your home 24 hours a day; entering customers into stupid raffles with the lure that they could win a year's free energy if they get a Smart meter fitted. Save some money if you don't mind being irradiated by devices that have proven to be a fire risk around the world and that emit radiation that has been classed by the World Health Organisation as a Class 2b carcinogen.

They made a mistake on my account (not for the first time!), and I was unable to phone them about it as it was a weekend and their call centre was closed. I sent them an email, as they are supposed to have 'award winning email support' which deals with emails 7 days a week with a fast response time - but several days later I had had no response. I sent another email, and 3 days later still no response. A friend of mine had exactly the same experience with them. I will be switching to another supplier, and would definitely not recommend Octopus.
