“Stylish and variety”

I really like the style of Shinola watches. There is for every taste and for any needs. Chronographs, vintage, men's. I especially like minimalist ones. Like those that are reviewed here - https://watchmakernotes.com/best-shinola-watches-review/

“It needs to do more than look good!”

I purchased a Shinola Duck watch because it looks good & the company positions itself as made in America. Well, the watch still looks good but it hasn't run continuously since I bought it despite multiple battery changes. Shinola claims that most problems are battery related, and only in very rare situations is the movement a problem. The battery is not the problem & I suspect the made in America tag is a facade behind which sit cheap foreign made parts. The only movement that has given me any satisfaction was to move the non-working watch back into the box!

Insanely priced ($100) rubber watch band failed prematurely. Sorry, no warranty says they. High expectations should be expected from super-high prices, says I. FAIL.

Shinola just announce "25% off online and in stores from May 1st
Through May 14th, 2023, using the code 10YEAR ", all the products prices are marked up 30% or more. Shame on them...

Any maintenance, including battery replacement, needs to be done by Shinola. I live in Philly, Shinola authorized jeweler is 2 hours away. Unknowingly, I took it to a local jeweler to have the battery replaced which meant watch no longer under warranty. Do not buy this product.

I like the look of shinola watches and have enjoyed mine but their guarantee isn't worth the paper its written on and the watches aren't particularly robust. I decided to splash out on a rose gold watch band. The shade of gold when I got it was wrong and as my watch had become bent over time I couldn't make it fit in the watch. I sent the band and watch off to shinola. I wanted the band exchanged and the watch fixed. They said they couldn't exhange the band as it was scrated and a link had been removed. Not true on either case. It had never even been attached to the watch let alone worn. It was sent back in bubble wrap to the factory. The watch needed repairing and they sent it back unrepaired. Someone slightly bent the prongs so I could fit in the band but altogether a major disappointment. Wrong colour band and non working watch. Thanks shinola.

Tip for consumers:
Don't buy this brand

I purchased a Shinola Runwell 36mm Men's Watch recently. It shipped with a Women's watch band. 36mm is the most common size for every Men's watch in the history of watches. Shinola insists that it's a unisex watch and that it always is made with a Women's watch band, although it was listed as a Men's band on the website. They offered me a discount on another band ($50 for a band that retails at $95), which is an insult at best. It's a $500 Men's watch---it should come with a men's watch band. I wanted to help this fledgling watch company succeed. If I had to do it over again, I would have bought another company's watch. Shinola doesn't stand by its products.

My 3rd Shinola watch in past 10 yrs. Known for customer service. No more prepaid shipping labels for warranty work with an upfront $25 fee for "deep assessment" to movement...quartz? Using pronouns as woke company...Done with Shinola Watches. (this watch was a gift)

Saw a report on them on the news so I thought I'd take a look. First, way too much money for any of their products even if they are made in the USA! Who in their right mind would spend $600 or more on a "quartz" watch movement, or a $1200 bicycle? Second, I really don't appreciate their "tracking" of my online activities, after visiting their site! Now every pop-up I see is for "Shinola Detroit", including here at sitejabber!
I applaud the fact that they are trying to re-establish the "made in America" slogan, but I fear they are doomed by trying to sell what should be a maxium of a $100 dollar watch for $600 dollars. Oh BTW, the aren't even that great looking IMO.

I have two great Shinola watches- which I purchased very early in their life cycle (one 2014 and the other 2017) when they had a lifetime guarantee. This is why I was willing to pay over $600 dollars for a quartz movement. I took away a star because they changed their warranty policy. Now the lifetime warranty has disappeared from the website and the wording has completely disappeared- that is not cool and cost them a star. What is going on over there Shinola? My watches still look great and people ask me about them all the time. Great interview watch. Customer service used to be highly responsive and somewhat knowledgeable. They used to be five-plus stars! I support American companies and will continue to support Shinola- but they have to sure up policy in favor of the customer!

Fashion that will be fashionable tomorrow and beyond. Very good quality from a boutique product company.
