“Disappointment in a box of glue enhanced sawdust”

We bought several pieces of their furniture previously for my eldest daughter when she was born. A dresser, crib, and changing table. None of the pieces survived a year. Many required constant adjustments and tightening. High humidity caused the particle board material and veneers to fall apart. This is not a great investment and caused more frustration than anything else.

I bought a five drawer dresser from walmart south shore it is garbage poorly design product pieces you put together are junk two drawers have already fallen apart flimsey will not last cant put anything with weight in them i wish i had read the reviews there are plenty of bad reviews on walmart reviews avoid like the plague i wish i had

VERY disappointed, beware, do not buy from this company. I bought my daughter a 6 drawer dresser from South Shore, big mistake. Item here:

We witnessed (on external camera) the FedEx driver drop the box onto his foot. Then, while walking in circles in noticeable pain, leave it in the middle of the driveway where it fell to be exposed to the elements. The top and sides of dresser were scratched and/or cracked. One corner was smashed. The lower front decorative panel is too short to meet the ends of the dresser. South Shore will only replace parts, which we have already assembled. I would need to disassemble and return for replacements. However, we had to glue some pieces together because they fit so poorly. This was an inexpensive dresser, but it was damaged in several ways and should never have been accepted as delivered. I spent $183 on garbage. I regret not returning the whole box after witnessing what happened in our driveway. South Shore does not stand behind their product.

I ordered the Tassio bedroom set from this place. It was a nightmare to put together. The chest of drawers was a chest of disaster. The drawers would not stay in place and the structure itself was very unstable. The dresser did not make it to a standing position. It kept collapsing until I finally had to discard it. The nightstand is still standing and the headboard is a little rocky, but still standing also. Sending it back was too much work, money, and time. Personally I think I deserve a total refund. My bank account is proof of purchase. I had to buy more furniture. I do not have money to waste so that really irritated me. Trying to save money ended up costing me more.

Tip for consumers:
The quality of th he product and time factor in assembling it.

Recently bought a sewing table from this manufacturer through another seller. Item arrived in a heavily damaged box resulting in no less than 10 areas of small but noticeable damage to the item. Fedex's fault, in part, for sloppy handling. We get that a lot where we live. Our saying is: "if our order is damaged it was shipped via Fedex!"

South Shore's quality problems are numerous. Below is our experience:

1. Insufficient interior protective packing to avoid or greatly lessen the degree of damage from irresponsible shippers. Their customer service rep did not care one hoot when we called about this issue.
2. Assembly instructions are vague in many areas. I could write them better.
3. One missing part.
4. One defective drawer handle. Came without threads to accept a machine screw. Nice!
5. Some holes not drilled out at all. I did that.
6. Drawers once built are not square. Ongoing sloppy production!
7. Drawers do not align straight in the cabinet. Sloppy again!
8. Customer service may be courteous and helpful providing you get the right ones. Otherwise, as we found out, you get a middle finger type response! Same to ya!
9. Many extra parts I paid for to what end? All parts in the instructions were used! The extra parts are clearly items that would not be needed since the desk is fully assembled. More incompetence.

Buyer beware!

The seller (NOT South Shore) is issuing a partial refund. We could not contemplate returning 144lbs., of MDF. No way. My wife wanted to get here new sewing machine up and running so we kept this P. O. S., ignoring the areas of damage caused by Fedex and South Shore.

Other sites have similar negative reviews of this company. Research companies before you buy. There are junk dealers out there. Buy from, another company.
