“Do Not Trust is Company”

Peggy M.

Our company used this company's services for a short time. When we no longer needed their services we canceled our contract with them. They continue to run our companies name on their sites. When a customer calls for information about our site they redirect them to our competitors. We have sent multiple letters for them to decease this practice, but they continue to ignore us. Do Not Use them for anything. They are liars and crooks.

Sparefoot not candid or frank in their advertising, after waisting a couple of hours of my valuble time in making reservations and traveling to location in $#*!ingson Tx., they revealed that they only take vehicles, boats, jet skis etc. that are 10 years old or less... my boat and skis are 12 to 14 years old. Lol
What a waste of my day.
Grrrrrrrrr. :( :(. .%#*#%&*÷@$

I made a reservation using selfstorage.com / Spare foot service, my reservation was not honored at the facility. I was left in a very difficult plight with a truckload of storage stuff to make a decision to make a new reservation. If selfstorage.com and Sparefoot exists to just make false reservations and keep sending confirmation email to customers that their reservation is then best they are shut down as consumers are getting misled and suffering.

I went on and reserved a storage unit and received a confirmation number from sparefoot. Went to the facility to "move in" and they did not have any units the size I wanted. Very frustrating as I lost out on another unit due to believing I had one already. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

I thought SpareFoot was great at first. The lady that helped me was incredibly kind, and seemed very helpful. Then, I got called by the manager at the storage facility I was planning to use, and was informed that my reservation was slightly unusual. I was told on SpareFoot that I could hold the unit for free for as long as needed, and I could go in to sign the paperwork and pay, whenever. The manager informed me that they usually do not hold units this long. After a confusing conversation, we decided I would go in to sign the paperwork on the same day anyway, and clear up some confusion. When I went in, they then informed me that almost no information I was told on SpareFoot was correct, and I could only sign the paperwork and pay if I was starting my rent that day. Although some of this was the individual company's fault, if SpareFoot had not given me faulty information, I could have avoided much confusion and stress. SpareFoot can be helpful to find places, but just call the company individually to save yourself time and frustration.

This website is a scam. Go to Google and search for storage lockers in your area and call them one by one. I've been baited and switched on by THREE different facilities. When you call Sparefoot they point the finger at the facility and when you call the facility they point the finger at Sparefoot. You are not able to speak to a manager at Sparefoot and all of their customer support is offshore and can barely understand basic English. They will tell you there is a unit of a certain size for a certain price. When you show up to claim the unit you reserved they will claim they don't have a unit or try to upsell you something you don't want or need. Sparefoot will do nothing about this. Do not waste your time or jeopardize your move (if applicable) by depending on this website or you will be sorry. The so-called discounts they claim to offer isn't worth the hassle of reserving a unit that you will never get. I booked a 5 x 10 unit and showed up and they had a 10 x5 which is much more shallow and is not the same. Booked a second one and was told that the unit was already rented when Sparefoot allowed me to reserve it online. Avoid these people at all costs.

Tip for consumers:
Don't use this site. It is a scam. I'm reporting to Abenity.com which is a members discount site which is where I found them.

I had a terrible experience with SpareFoot. Made a reservation online but the storage unit and rate were not offered by the storage company. Mistakes happen, I suppose. However, my experience with customer service at SpareFoot was the worst: the agent ("Justin") read off a script, and was not helpful in helping rectify or honor the rate. He was incredibly argumentative and unhelpful.

I spoke to the Storage Unit company directly and found the experience much more productive and helpful. Not sure what SpareFoot gets from your service other than selling your personal information but I'd skip this service and go directly to the storage companies to make your booking!

Sparefoot was created by self storage industry insiders to create a "work-around" to negative online reviews! Apparently the public at large has had enough of bait-and-switch pricing, false advertising, fake contracts, aggressive Mafia-esque business tactics, and overt bad faith and evil dealings.

Imagine if a restaurant was on a city block with a few other restaurants, and these restaurants decided they were going to serve rotten vegetables and horse meat to their customers. The obvious reaction to this evil deed would be for the customers to rush to Yelp and hammer these restaurants' reputations until they cleaned up their business ethics, and sold edible food to their customers. But what if the restaurant owners decided to join together and create their own version of Yelp, where they could leave glowing, 5-star reviews of their restaurants, so they could continue defrauding the public and perpetrating evil deeds on society at large.

Well, Sparefoot is like the "other" Yelp! It was created by these evildoers in the self storage industry, who regularly perform illegal acts on their customer base, with no regard for honesty or business ethics.

The fact that it was allowed to be created in the first place is a slap in the face to all American citizens!

Spare Foot is another organization that provides no value added at all. Spare Foot promotes bad, trashy, unsafe storage facilities for money. Spare Foot prevents honest reviews and blocks any honest reviews. Spare Foot is a total fraud and deceit, harming customers and endangering storage customers. Bad, bad people.

Tip for consumers:
Do not Rely on anything on this website. All lies, subterfuge and deceit.
