“Absolutely no respect for its customers”

THIS IS A ZERO STAR REVIEW! I've purchase 3 Pioneer stereo players in the two vehicles that I've owned over the past 20 years. The last was a DEH2800UI which I had bought with the belief that it had Bluetooth hands-free with it. Unfortunately it was only for pairing your phone with music. A few months ago I started looking at the Pioneer website to see which hands-free CD stereo I could get for my car. I did a lot of research, reading the reviews on each one and I finally settled on a unit sold by one of the authorized dealers that is on the Pioneer website being Stereo West Auto Toys. On Martin Luther King Day being Monday 1-18-21 I placed my order for a Pioneer DEH4100BT CD car stereo player. Within 10 minutes of placing my online order the phone rang and I thought it was a spam call. It wasn't it was Deryll (sp) at the above company. He said they no longer had the 4100 and would upgrade me to the DEH4200BT and that it would be shipped out that day and that he would email me a tracking number. He quite clearly stated 'that day.' The following morning having no tracking number I called back and Deryll said it wasn't shipped out yesterday. I must say I was disappointed. He updated me with a tracking number later that day. I even called UPS back that evening stating that the tracking number had not been updated and nothing was in their system. I called Brian at Stereo West Auto Toys minutes later and he along with Ryan and Deryll assured me that this had been sent. Over the next 5 days I went back and forth with Stereo West Auto Toys and UPS, even getting Grace a supervisor on the phone at one point after being on the phone for a half an hour hold and she assured me UPS had never picked this item up. Ryan said that UPS are notorious for updating the customer the tracking information after an item has been delivered. I even filed opened up a billing dispute with American Express stating that I still wasn't sure if this item had even been sent or not because there was no recollection of it in the UPS system. On the morning of Monday 1-25-21 I called up Deryll who assured me that he was looking at the tracking number and he said it was 'Out for delivery that day.' I asked him how he could see it and I couldn't? It ends up that after all this time he'd emailed me the incorrect tracking number, giving me a B in the UPS tracking numbers instead of a number 8. I'd previously asked Deryll how the stereo had been packaged and he said it was inside a brown box. I called UPS Ground and collected the package myself from Prescott Valley. Later that day when I finally got within a mile and a half of where I live due to a very, very heavy downfall of snow that day I sat in my car and having watched a video on how to install the radio on Crutchfield.com I decided to put the radio in. As I cut into the box which was surrounded by brown tape I realized that Deryll had used the 'Pioneer box' itself to package my radio. I was very angry at this lack of care. I've always kept my Pioneer (and other) boxes for, if and when I resell the item again. In fact I have the DEH2800UI box in mint condition right now, so that when I sell my radio it shows the buyer that I've looked after and cared for my radio I literally had to rip the box to pieces in order to get the radio out. On the morning of Tuesday 1-26-21 I called up Deryll and explained this situation. He said, 'You'll have to turn it inside out man.' When I'd asked Ryan originally why my box was turned inside out his wording was, 'Well people would steal it otherwise.' I believe every package that I've had sent to me throughout my whole life in any country I've lived in, the item is inside a brown box. This inside out brown box looks no different! Deryll was unwilling to help. I've since filed a complaint with Pioneer USA support center informing them that one of their authorized dealers is opening their products turning the box inside out and sending it that way. PIONEER DID GET INVOLVED IN THIS SITUATION AND HAVE SINCE REMOVED STEREO WEST AUTO TOYS FROM THEIR WEBSITE AS AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AND THAT IS MY ASSUMPTION ON THAT. AS FAR AS I KNOW THIS COMPANY HAS BEEN SPOKEN TO BY A TOP REP WHO I WAS IN CONVERSATION WITH YESTERDAY.

Tip for consumers:
My advice is to avoid this company all costs. Their reviews on some websites are awful!
