Top Critical Review

“Sometimes decent tech news, horrible mods/admins”

Regularly posts misinformation then retaliates against users who call them out. Shadowbaning is very common and you'll even get banned for pointing out how abusive the moderators are. You'll be told you were banned for violating rules but not what those rules are. There is no contact info to report moderator misbehavior. Not worth your time. Site also has far-left political bias.

Verified purchase

I've been a TechSpot reader for over 7 years. A great tech website with plenty of information dedicated to the more hardcore hardware enthusiast and general information on the industry in general to keep you up to date. Buying guides and software downloads provide extra benefit from a place I trust and enjoy.

I've been a TechSpot regular for many years and it's my favorite website for tech news. Love their style of reporting. I feel like they tell you what you need to know in short articles. I also think their website is very visually appealing. Well designed, well laid out. It's a very fun site for me.

I genuinely enjoy checking TechSpot every day and reading new reviews for all the new processors, graphics cards, laptops, etc. These guys seem to be very independent, they don't afraid of calling things what they are. I also use their software page for many of the software that I use every day!
I respect Tech Spot.

I have been a TechSpot reader for years and have enjoyed their content through the years. From how to use certain products to software that is ready to use and then download. Techspot has taught me and is still teaching me a lot and am forever grateful. However please give us an android app. This will add the icing on the cake. Cheers!

I've enjoyed TechSpot for quite a few years as they have a decent variety of tech related info with some other "gray area techie-type" articles about that I also enjoy reading. They also have great in-depth reviews for things like graphic cards, monitors, PC cases, which makes them my go-to source when I'm interested in buying one of these items or just seeing how the new versions stack up. They also have a nifty score aggregator for other tech websites that I might not frequent as much, but are useful when trying to see; for example; how good this pair of headphones might be and what their reviews are comprised of.

Excellent source for all things involving current technology. I run a tech based store, website and Facebook page... and I frequently use Techspot as a refrence for information for myself and my customers. If this was in magazine format, I would definitely be a subscriber... keep up the good work!

I use this site almost daily to keep me updated on all things tech, be it news or tests or rumors. I like the precise, short news stile and the longform reviews.,

The site is good, I like the ratings and reviews of the devices, but the writers are very biased towards matters that involve public people. Copywriters (with bias) endorse the widespread narratives of the extreme press and forget to report the facts. Not to mention that he exposes his opinions in non-opinionated articles.

Id give them a higher star rating because the website is quite informative, but through a past known experience with them, I cant give them anything higher. Years ago, when I was 18 years old, I had a 16 year old friend who had an application issue that couldnt be solved and there werent solutions elsewhere. Made an account on TechSpot, asked nicely through the forums, and before the post received even three responses, a troll user claimed he was able to hack, therefore, the thread was locked and closed.

Some time later, coincidentally, but not connected NOR was TechSpots fault, my friends personal information was compromised. At 16 years old, with no bank accounts, no actual ID, no credit information, someone still decided to use her home number and physical address to harass her with subscriptions, phone calls about debt, loans, and sometimes even adulted rated content. Her username used on TechSpot was hijacked and used elsewhere on other websites to leave fake rude messages, responses and reviews for various products.

When my friend KINDLY asked in the TechSpot forums, if theres a way to remove her account for security reasons, they couldve simply told her no, because the account was created using an old forum/bulletin platform that doesnt have the option to remove accounts. Instead, not only were the Mods condescending, but downright rude.

When we decided to go on another website to see if theres a way for account removal on websites, we did NOT once badmouth TechSpot, only mentioned it as one of the websites. Yet, a TechSpot mod that, so happened to be on that website, saw the question, then copied and pasted it back to TechSpot forums. S/he then left a response under it basically stating my friend is an idiot and allowed others to join the conversation. The mod embarrassed and bullied a 16 year old over something this petty and practically doxxed an underaged girl.

Some time later, a few more users asked for account removal for whatever reason. The users asked why it wasnt an option. I stepped in just suggesting a better platform for the future, and the mods basically called me "a moron despite having a college education". I was so done. I logged out and never went back to this website again. Bottomline, these Mods have the privilege to be nasty to people, while sitting behind a computer screen meanwhile, they probably get trolled by 14 year olds on League of Legends daily.
