“Good Camera”

Twice now have I gone to this place to have my camera serviced. The gentlemen that looked at my camera said that it would take about 10 days to get repaired, they called me this morning on the 5th day informing me that they've finished and its ready to come home. Flopped out of bed and came right over, again I was very pleased with the repairs and the price was quite reasonable! They're always very polite, funny and helpful but more importantly, I trust them! Thanks guys

Worst company I have delt with. I ordered a camera from them 3 months ago. Showed up fine worked for a week then stopped working. It had a 30 day warranty on it so I sent it back it could take possible 6-8 weeks to get it back is what the warranty paper read. They have had 12 weeks now, to fix it and send it back. Apparently I wasted 300 dollars.

I ordered a camera lens before I knew someone else had bought a similar lens for me as a Christmas gift, but the gift lens was a step up from what I purchased so I decided to return the one I bought. I returned the lens to Tri-State after first going back and forth for two weeks trying to be sure I wouldn't be charged a 10% 'restocking' fee for an unopened box. I was assured by phone that I wouldn't be charged this fee but would have to pay for shipping both ways, which is perfectly understandable and acceptable.

However, exactly 10% of my purchase price WAS deducted from my refund (restocking fee?), and nobody from Tri-State will explain exactly how they computed my refund? They won't respond to my customer service update posts and I don't even want to argue with anyone over the phone. Okay, so it's all of about $5.00 difference, but that isn't the point. They said I wouldn't be charged a restocking fee and I was. I hope the $5.00 was worth losing a repeat customer.

Tip for consumers:
Be very careful if you decide to return an item. They make it as impractical as they can to return items so you stay stuck with them. Think before you buy from this company. Better to use B&H Photo or Adorama instead where you know you'll receive a full refund for items you wish to return.

Ive bought a couple of cameras and accessories over the years and was generally happy, they have great prices and great service.

Of all my orders I only had one issue where UPS lost my package en-route but TristateCamera was helpful in contacting UPS to locate the package, in the end I got it on time. Happy.

Ordered the Olympus Tough TG-1 camera from these guys and was very satisfied with the experience:

1) Price at Tri-State Camera was $60 less than what it was being offered for on Amazon. I usually purchase from Amazon because of their Prime 2-day shipping, but even after selecting the 2-day air option from Tri-State, I was saving a lot of money.

2) I needed the camera before going on vacation and because I had ordered it right before MLK weekend, I wasn't sure I was going to receive it in time. I called them up and found out that, sure enough, it was going to get there one day too late. However, the manager I spoke to, Al, told me he would overnight it for no extra cost and personally guaranteed that I would get it in time.

I got the camera as promised right before my trip, in perfect condition. You just don't get service like that anymore these days from most online retailers. I highly recommend these guys and look forward to buying more stuff from them. You just can't beat the price and the customer service at Tri-State Camera.

I ordered a set of binoculars for $500, and I changed my mind and cancelled them the next day and after 10 days and multiple calls and emails I have not been able to get a refund. I filed a PayPal Dispute and I hope that helps. I would never buy anything here again.

Do not buy from these con artists. Do your homework and read all reviews. This site does not stock anything and lies about item and shipping. A complaint had to be filed with PayPal and am awaiting there response to recover my payment. Looks like I'm going to be a present short for Christmas. Do yourself a favor and pay a little extra to avoid theses scam artists.

Awful service, although my credit card was accepted by the system, they stopped the order with no prior notice. I contacted them and they asked me to photocopy of a recent bill of my visa and a photocopy of my visa card. Although that was a big SECURITY RISK for me I did so. Still though after that the order did not proceed and there was no email or anything form them. Finally I called them and they just say they couldnt accept it.
