Terrible. I went to the ticket office at Manila airport and tried to change my flight home. I was told that "they did not talk to customers" in that office and that I would need to email them. She gave me a tiny slip of paper with contact details on. She also told me that all flights from Manila were fully booked that week without even looking at the computer to check. I complained to the CEO of Turkish airlines and heard nothing. Not even an "autoresponse". It was booked through lastminute who have an even worse reputation

I booked a flight from Amsterdam to Aqaba with a stop in Istanbul. Because the first flight was delayed I missed my transfer in Istanbul. I told the crew I would miss my next flight and they said they would arrange for me (and some other passengers) to be picked up by ground stewards and taken quickly to the next flight and that they would wait for us. When we got off the plane, offcourse no one was waiting for us.
The first flight that went to Aqaba was the next day. I had to wait on the airport the whole night and couldn't sleep for more than 24 hours because they said there was no time to book an hotel. They gave me a coupon for food but there was not any restaurant who accepted the coupon. I had to pay for the food and for the wifi to check my next flight, who was also delayed. I arrived one day later on my destination and missed the first day of my only 5 day trip because of this and they will not pay me any compensation because they say the reason of the delay was out of their control. However they will not tell me the reason of the delay. The service of cheaper airlines I traveled with, is much, much better than the service of TurkishAirlines, where you pay double for the same tickets.

Lord, if I can help it, I will NEVER fly this airline again, I don't care how reasonable the fare. I had to change ticket (well aware that I am not a frequent flyer), and use a credit, so I booked a different destination 8 MONTHS IN ADVANCE, and I was over 8 hours early to my return flight, was denied check in in Dublin. Couldn't check in, not even online. Returned at the exact time they requested for the afternoon flight. Still sat in a non moving line for close to 2 hours. Wasn't given an option for a seat, have been placed in a middle aisle seat for both a 5 hour flight and a 14 hour flight. The process has been painful throughout my experience. Never simple, never easy. Doing the right thing, trying to show up early, none of it works, none of it helps. Awful. Avoid like the plague if you are a good passenger thinking playing by their rules will make the process easier or better. I don't need much, but a little consideration, situational awareness, and customer service go along way in case you haven't heard Turkish Airlines.

My experience with Turkish Airlines turned into a harrowing ordeal. I bought a round-trip ticket (#*******333), only for it to be canceled by Turkish Airlines on the same day, without any prior notification. This unexpected action left a family member stranded in a foreign land, grappling with language barriers.

Turkish Airlines, rather than assisting, resorted to denial and indifference. Despite their claims of a refund, none was forthcoming.

With no other option, I purchased two replacement tickets at a premium price. Turkish Airlines disregarded this added expense, offering no compensation.

Thanks to the intervention of Wells Fargo, I finally received a refund for the original ticket. However, the silence from Turkish Airlines regarding their role in this chaos was disconcerting.

This ordeal revealed an unsettling truth about Turkish Airlines: they can disappoint and abandon you when needed most. Remember this cautionary tale before entrusting your travel plans to them.

My flight was cancelled abruptly after sitting on the tarmac for 3 hours. The airline refused to rebook everyone and mant customers including me were left without flights. They were supposed to call us with rebooking info unlike most airlines which rebook you on site when a flight is canceled and many people got no calls. We were forced to buy new tickets ourselves from other airlines or be stranded. As you can imagine purchasing new tickets at the last minute was extremely costly. The airplane itself was old, musty and dirty. Never again.

Horrible customer service, not interested in solving problems. Our first outbound flights was canceled, they kept saying cancellation not in their system, refused to change reservation and don't refund the money. Stay away from them, not worth it. They just keep lying and their representatives can never do anything, just tell you they will send an email...

Tip for consumers:
Literally any other airline is better. Turkish are scammers

I called twice. First moments after booking and realising I selected the wrong day (this was actually because the website kept kicking me back to the beginning of the process when I took longer than 5 seconds to find things like my wifes passport number... by the 5th time I was rushing to do it so fast I selected the same flight for the wrong date). Second time they rescheduled my flight to a super inconvenient time, destroying a planned 24 hour layover in istanbul and reducing it to just enough time to get into the city and back. Both times I was met by incredible rudeness. Sighing and absolutely no desire to help. When the first gentleman asked me if I wanted to pay £150 to change the flight, I asked a follow up question and was interrupted with 'Do you want it or not?!'. Second woman was more amicable but also had a very bad attitude and ultimately couldnt or wouldn't help reschedule the second leg of the trip to maintain my previously planned layover.

Watch out! You have "No" rights as a consumer with this company. If by any chance you have an incident with the flight, your Ticket, you luggage or their Service, be aware that they will never solve it and you will be unable to discuss it with anyone! You will waste tones of time and energy, receiving as feedback only standard sentences from their manuals.
You can not say you were not warned as other references mention the same. It is your choice of taking the risk by buying a ticket to this company. I will definetly not do it again.

The Tk0812 on Sat 4/11 - seat 01A was a big disappointment.
Me and my family missed an earlier plane because you suddenly changed the gate and we couldn't run to it, and then you repeated the same thing with the aforementioned flight after we paid a penalty because you didn't believe it is your fault to miss a flight! How atrocious to keep changing gates like that! People are not toys to play with by the way, and my parents are old people and had to walk for distances just for your bad policies to reach to the correct gate.

After we reached the correct gate, it rained heavily outside and you made all the passengers ride the bus and stand outside under heavy rain and climb uncovered ladder to reach the plane, how rude and inhumane is that?! Even a low class airline company won't do that.
Finally got on the plane fully wet, that made me sick now, just to sit on an economy chair that you sold as a business class?! That is called cheating, the plane has no business class and you made little arrangements to make it look like a business class. The seats were bad, old and small with no facilities at all.

I will make sure to advise everyone I know and write reviews everywhere to let people know that Turkish airlines are really bad and good cheaters that has no respect to passengers. I regret every penny I paid to be onboard.

The cabin crew welcomed us with a smile and a welcome drink. We were very surprised because we did not expect this, but it was very nice. Inflight services were excellent. Everything was prepared in magnificent order.

I traveled with many airlines like as Lufthansa, Air France, Air Canada, British Airways,…… but non of them were low class and cheap like Turkish airlines

Had a 36 hours flight from hell. Originated from Tehran the plane was delayed 2/5 hours. In Istanbul Missed my connection flight to london by 5 mins. (By same airline). They put me on a flight for 4 hours later and a McDonald voucher. But that flight was canceled however, they refused to give me a hotel until 7 pm! After so much fights and arguments with staff! They gave me a hotel only until 4 am next day. (Few hours in the hotel) they picked me up 5 hours early for the next day flight at 9 am! I could not understand why? Probably trying to cut corners and save money. Staff were rude snd absolutley vile all the way through. No compassion whatsoever. Treated me like im nothing! Shouting at me. Ignoring me! So basically, i started my journey 12 midnight and reach london 36 hours later.

Well I used Turkish Airlines to board from Uganda to Turkey recently. The first thing I noticed was the flight attendants. They we're all nice and Jolly. They make you feel kinda important and they listen to all your requests however disturbing. What I didn't like though was their coffee and Burger... The coffee was too strong and the burger. Well the bread was too dry. Maybe I got even more frustrated when I didn't get my miles. But oh well the rest was on point.

To use our credit to book a ticket. Called the customer service to use our credit to book a ticket and spoke to two different people who couldn't help us. They are so rude and unprofessional. I will never travel with them again and I suggest you stay away from this airline.

We boarded one hour late without any explanation and we missed the connecting flight in Istanbul. We would have made it if we were accommodated by the Malaga flight crew but we were not allowed to move into business class before the landing just to be able to leave the plane first. We knew we were going to miss the flight but the flight attendants were trying to sell us the cart driving service instead of assisting us. We were given a hotel room but we were made to pay for visas although we had no desire of staying in Istanbul. We had no responsibility for missing the flight but we still had to pay for visas. The worst experience ever - this is my fifth time missing a flight with TA for the same reasons. I believe they do it on the purpose! Do not use TA if you have less than 3 hours in transfer - they will make sure you don't make it and then they will make sure to charge you for visas and everything else! I am definitely never choosing them again!

Turkish Airlines' Unacceptable Practice of Selling Reserved Seats and Lack of Transparency

I recently had an extremely frustrating experience with Turkish Airlines that I feel compelled to share. During my flight booking process, I diligently selected a specific seat, paid for it, and expected that my choice would be honored. However, upon arrival at the airport, I was shocked to discover that Turkish Airlines had sold my selected seat to another passenger without any prior notification or my consent.

To make matters worse, Turkish Airlines cited a delay as the reason for the inconvenience, yet they failed to provide any specific information about the delay's duration. The lack of transparency regarding the delay added to the frustration and confusion of the situation.

What's even more disheartening is that, without any clear announcements or communication, Turkish Airlines proceeded to open the boarding process and allowed others to occupy our reserved seats. This not only inconvenienced me but also raised serious concerns about the airline's handling of seat allocations and its commitment to customer service.

Passengers should be able to rely on airlines for clear communication and the honoring of seat selections made during the booking process. The airline's decision to sell our pre-selected seats without warning or explanation demonstrates a troubling lack of accountability.

My hope is that this review highlights the urgent need for Turkish Airlines and other airlines to improve their practices, ensure transparency during delays, and respect passengers' seat reservations. Travelers deserve better treatment and the assurance that their chosen seats will be honored.

I don't even know where to begin. The airline is horrible and doesn't care about their customers, for starters, no one speaks a lick of English. So communication was absolutely pointless. Second, their lack of compassion for customers is unacceptable. Third, they love to belittle you and make you bounce from one person to the next. They wouldn't let me board my flight after they gave me the wrong gate number (which was never printed on the ticket) and we missed our flight, even after we verified with 3 different information desks and the gate we thought we needed to board on, their only solution / wait until tomorrow and buy a $3600.00 one way ticket for an hour and a half flight to Egypt. When we went to get our baggage since we didn't catch the flight the baggage claim idiot took every chance to yell at me and scream and shot, he charged at me and told me to "shut the f*** up" and threatened me. It got to the point where he turned all the staff in customs against me and made them search my bags piece by piece (we already did this upon check in, so it was pointless and a waste of time) he kept threatening me so I called 911, again with the language barrier, I had no idea what's going on. They didn't help, I went to the police station in the airport which they made me wait an hour while they laughed and joked and took selfies with other staff, it got to the point where I felt threatened and called the American consulate who advised me to leave the airport at once.

I do not recommend this airline whatsoever, every Turkish airport employee is a complete jerk and arrogant beyond words. This is not acceptable in any way shape or form. I will be filling a report with the American consulate and the Better business bureau as well as filing a dispute with my credit card company since the services i paid for were not rendered.

If I could go the rest of my life without ever flying Turkish airlines or even visiting turkey, I would die a happy person.

Also, I told them I had been at the air port waiting to board the flight for over 6 hours and my boarding pass showed the time the pass was issued. When they asked me for my boarding pass to obtain my luggage, he ripped my boarding pass in several pieces so I don't have proof to show my credit card company. I made him dig it out of the trash to use as proof. They are completely moronic.

Finally, they ripped my brand new luggage and stained it beyond repair. $400.00 suitcase will now be tossed in the trash.

Stay away! Far far away! You are not considered a customer, only a dollar sign. I've never missed a flight in my life, but the general rule states they put you on the next flight, they don't garage you thousands of dollars for a domestic flight, then ignore you after you try to explain the error was the airport staff, not our own.

Very unprofessional staff, no system, no customer retention, no poise, no compassion.

It's been two months since I've been back and I am still not over the horrendous lack of service i received. I will make it my life's mission to come on your websites once a month and file complaints, contact the better business bureau and write as many bad reviews as possible until your airport staff learns some respect and how to treat paying customer with dignity.

They make you file trouble tickets over and over again hoping you get tired of the lack of response, there is no resolution team and their email responses are generic and pre written. Stay as far away from this airline

Stay away from this airline, they're clearly crooks. Just before boarding our 2nd flight to Rome at the Istanbul airport, we discovered my passport and boarding pass was missing. We immediately informed the TK gate crew, who directed me to the police but offered no other help. I sought help from the TK staff throughout the two hours it took to finally locate the passport, and yet when we went through the process of getting on another flight, they insisted that they were going to penalize us as a "no-show", as well as charging us the cost difference for the new flight, and that we couldn't even shop elsewhere, as they would cancel our return flight if we didn't pay for the ticket for the Istanbul-Rome leg. The charges were an additional $1000 for both tickets. Then, later on I discovered they had actually charged me $1650! When I 've contacted customer service they have insisted that is the proper charge, without providing a receipt. I'm disputing with my credit card company, we'll see what happens.

The worse flight from Istanbul to Lagos old and over crowded same coming back to the Uk, from Lagos to Istanbul.
Got one of my my luggage destroyed while going to Lagos and coming back to the UK got both checked in luggage destroyed. I applied to their claim department but got no response.
I will rate their luggage handling and fligh to Africa zero, and would not recommend the airline to anyone.

My Business flight from Birmingham/ Istanbul 14 July was over 233 minutes late departing - due according to Turkish Airlines (Pilot) to Airport Baggage Handling problems. This was untrue as BHX make it clear on their Website that the Airlines are responsible for this activity.
As a result I missed my onward connection to HCMC without any proactive action by TK. It took considerable time to locate the TK Office in the vast Istanbul Airport, and the TK Representatives were disinterested, lethargic, evasive and rude before I persuaded them to provide a solution, which was one involving a flight to Dubai and thence to HCMC. Not my choice. Accommodation was not offered, and this involved finding another Office and a long wait. As a result I did not reach my destination until early AM on 17th July instead of the intended 15th.
Sometimes things go wrong, but the Airlines denial of responsibility, failure to resolve the problem in a timely and effective manner and failure to have its Staff act in a reasonable manner is unforgivable. I will be travelling this route again, but never with this Airline, and never via Istanbul Airport.

Hands down the worst airline I have ever dealt with. We couldn't check in online on the way there and when we phoned the staff were rude and hung up on us.

Thankfully it was sorted out at Edinburgh Airport by the staff there. On the way back same thing happened but at Istanbul Airport they put us on standby. They promised we would get seats at the gate. We did not.

We then got shouted at when we were trying to find out what was happening and it took hours to find a staff member who could help us. We were then given a slice of pizza for lunch and got shouted at by another staff member when we asked for our bags back (apparently it is a lot of work for them).

After hours we got taken to a dive of a hotel. We were given inedible food in a very unclean hotel. The next day we got on a new flight and were told we would get 400 euros at Edinburgh Airport.

When we arrived at Edinburgh there were no Turkish Airline staff or a desk so no money for us. Guess we need to phone back up to get shouted at some more.

Honestly horrendous experience. Made me cry multiple times. Wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy!

I have a negative experience with them. My friend from Turkey wanted to change his flight and they allowed him to do this. He can not paid cash, so i give him my credit card. Turkish airlines charged not only for this flight, but also penalty for changing day flight, witch was not mentioned by them.

Second negative experience is Miles&Smiles business offer. It just don't work with cheap flights, you can collect miles only if you buy expensive flights. And this info you will not find in information brochure! I am disappointed, i spent a lot of time to create Miles&Smiles account and so on.

Service is nice, so i still give Turkish Airlines 3 stars.

If by any chance you have an incident with the flight, your ticket, your luggage, their website that works really bad or their service, they will just ignore you asking to raised feedback questionaries that are responded with an automated standard response and you will not be able to discuss or resolve the issue with any one.
STAY AWAY OF THIS COMPANY! EVEN IF YOU SEE A CHEAP PRICE!
I bought a flight in their website and in the email confirmation I got different departure and destiny of what I had booked. I wasted 2 weeks in calls, messages... without any response beyond: "I am ot authorised you have to raise a feedback ticked" or "Your ticked is closed you have to raise another one if you are not happy".
It has been the worth consumer experience I had in my life, and I have already an age.
