“I'm not usually one to leave reviews BUT when I have...”

I'm not usually one to leave reviews BUT when I have an experience THIS bad, I want to make sure others don't have to go through the same garbage. PLEASE do not ever take your pet to Animal Medical Services to see Dr. Carolyn Mcguire. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR PET. They care about charging you as much as possible. I took my kitty in because he couldn't open his eye. She said she would put a stain in his eye to look at it under a black light to see if he had a scratch, but she never even used the black light, but of course they charged me for that test. She said it was an infection, gave me some drops and sent me on my way. She told me to come back in one week to have him checked. A week went by and although his eye looked a little better, I could still tell that there was something not quite right. It looked like he had something IN his eye. Not to mention he started having diarrhea with blood and mucus. I took him in again for his recheck and she said he looked great and that I could take the cone off and be done with the drops. I TOLD HER THAT IT LOOKED LIKE THERE WAS SOMETHING IN HIS EYE AND SHE SAID, AND I QUOTE "OH IT'S FINE". Not ONCE did she use a black light or even a flash light or ANYTHING to look into his little eye. She just looked into the carrier he was in. I asked about the bloody, mucus diarrhea and she said, it's probably his food, and gave me a food that is only sold in her office to try (go figure right?) I brought my kitty home and sure enough, the next morning he couldn't open his eye again. We called the office first thing, the nurse talked to the doctor and said that I should put the cone back on him and continue with the drops for another 10 days. I asked "is she not concerned that it looks like there's something in his eye?" and the nurse said "well if she looked at him yesterday..." and I said "she DIDN'T. I asked her to and she said 'oh it's fine' but i can SEE something in there" The nurse said I could bring my kitty back in, but that they'd charge me (of course, since that's all they care about). I immediately called another vet that was able to see my little guy that day. I took him in, and turns our he has an ulcer in his eye and a bacterial infection called giardia which was causing the bloody mucus diarrhea. I can not tell you how awful Dr. Carolyn Mcguire and her staff are. If my son or daughter had something in their eye and I took them to a doctor that said "oh it's fine" I'd be suing for malpractice. And not to mention all the "little" things about the office. The office STINKS SO BAD. You can tell it is not a clean place. The staff is just grumpy. I'm new to owning a cat so I had a lot of questions. They were all very short with me. Since I was a new patient for them I showed up to my appointment 10 min early. I ended up waiting about 50 minutes to be seen with not even an apology for having to wait that long. When I got there they said the price would be $45, but they did a bunch of tests that they didn't tell me about or get my approval for, so when I went to pay my total was over $200. Just, PLEASE take your pets somewhere else. This office is a joke and I honestly don't know how they are still in business.
