Customer service, when you get to interact with them, is extremely rude and completely worthless consisting solely of copy and paste phrases direct from the FAQ page and nothing more. They lock up accounts and refuse refunds to the account issued by the merchant without any reason, then retaliate like petty children when you complain. THIS IS THE ABSOLUTE EPITOME OF HOW HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE CAN POSSIBLY BE. AVOID VARO BANK AT ALL COSTS! YOUR MONEY IS BETTER OFF UNDER YOUR MATTRESS!

The website on my headline saved my life! When I had problems with this platform. Their team responded quickly and provided clear, concise instructions on how to resolve the issue. They also took the time to follow up and make sure everything was ok and got my money back. Overall I was impressed with their professionalism and attention to detail.
I did a mobile deposit at around 10 am one spot said it would clear before by end of day. It's past 3 pm and still nothing. Then it says before 4 pm and ul get it cleared that day but have to wait up to 7 days.to recieve ur funds. I have never waited so long for a mobile deposit to go thru. And I need that money so I have shelter for the night.

Varo Bank is trash! They misspelled my last name on my account, which includes on the debit card that they mailed me. To correct THEIR mistake the 1 star rated customer service insisted I send a photo id, which would be the same id I use to open the account in the first place. A top tier bank would never make that mistake, and if they did they would acknowledge their mistake and correct it immediately. And this is just one of many mistakes I encountered. DO NOT OPEN A ACCOUNT WITH VARO BANK. IF YOU HAVE AN ACCOUNT WITH VARO BANK WITHDRAW ALL FUNDS AND CLOSE IT IMMEDIATELY!

Yes, it all already sounds ferociously and hellaciously seedy. As if Greendot wasn't bad enough an assortment of similar "online debit card" accounts have reared their revolting and nightmare-inducingly amateurish heads out of the woodwork.
Varos.com: one I tried after realizing Simple could not be more aptly named. (They move roughly at the speed of a mid 90s credit union in regards to setting up direct deposit, posting transactions, etc)
Varos promised more what I was used to, being of too dire financial/credit status to attain a "real bank account" at this time: 2 days early direct deposit, 50 bucks FREE overdraft protection (must have 1000 or more in deposits a month plus 5 card transactions; reasonable enough though) and NO FEES (why greendot got the boot, 9.95 a month for doing NOTHING no reachable customer service even, plus unrecognized by most state of the art financial players as even being a bank.) anyway SOUNDS GOOD RIGHT?
Well here I sit now without my direct deposit being where it should be, the realization slowly dawning on me with horror that either Varos moves at a glacial speed to confirm deposit info with my company (which theyve had days to do) or their "two days early direct deposit!" Is actually far slower than $#*!ING GREENDOT WHO WOULD'VE HAD MY MONEY ALREADY GOOD TO GO!
In conclusion, these online banks "shouldnt write checks with their mouths that their $#*! cant cash" as my father was fond of telling me, and hopefully you all suck less at life enough to stay far away.
