“7 years after installation 1 panel failed and Solar Wholesale paid a local firm to replace it.”

I had difficulty in contacting them but the local firm had done some warranty work for solar Wholesale before and contacted them with my request for repair then came out to diagnose my problem. The panel had failed and Solar Wholesale paid the service call and replaced the panel. I am impressed. I also got the new contact number for future needs. GOOD SERVICE. Loren M

“! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!”

! DO NOT PURCHASE FROM WHOLESALE SOLAR! Dealing with Wholesale Solar was one of the worst experiences I have ever had as a customer. I originally inquired about a solar system in October of 2019. I was a homeowner in California, just trying to make the environmentally conscious decision to go solar. IAN SHURTLEFF was the sales rep that I originally was working with. After a few weeks of shopping around, I decided to purchase a 9.9kW system from IAN SHURTLEFF. BOY WAS THAT A MISTAKE. After I paid for the system in full on 10/28/2019, IAN WOULD NEVER ANSWER HIS PHONE NOR GIVE ME A CALL BACK AFTER THE SALE. Talk about a salesperson with a major lack of accountability. Ian also provided the original design for my home more to come on this later. First delivery showed up on 11/7/2019. I assumed the driver would drop the package off as any normal delivery person would. HOWEVER, the panels were so poorly packed that the driver could not get the pallet off of the truck. After he tried for nearly 30 minutes, he decided to start taking panels out one by one. Then the entire package collapsed, and multiple panels were damaged in the process (see photos). I immediately contacted tried to reach out to IAN SHURTLEFF who you guessed it did not answer his phone and would not call me back. In fact I am still waiting on that call back from Ian 11/16/2019 - the second shipment showed up with additional shipping damage. I called Ian and you guess it again, he would not answer the phone. Again, talk about a major lack of accountability from a salesperson, definitely the worst I have ever seen. In the meantime I began my approval process with PGE and the city utilizing the design that Ian had come up with for my system. It turned out that the grid-tied system that Ian had sold me would not work due to panel upgrades that would be necessary. Wholesale Solar had photos and info on my existing system and yet still sold me a system that was not compatible. After some back and forth with PGE on what my options were, we decided to change the system to a "line-side tap system." This required me to get a re-design, pay for new permits, and purchase a few different items (fused disconnect/additional accessories). THEN, I went to install the system. This is where it really gets fun I got up on the roof and began to grid out where we would mount the rails It became clear very early that the system designed by IAN would not fit on the roof. I then called Ian again again no answer and then decided to take matters into my own hands with the design. After spending the entire day gridding out the system and utilizing Google Sketchup, I came up with a re-design and sent back to Wholesale Solar to modify their design on my home. On 12/11/19 Wholesale Solar finally revised my official plans. After paying additional permit and PGE approval fees, I then finally received the rails needed to move forward on the projectThe next day I was laid of from my job 12/12/19. After some back and forth interviewing for various positions in my company, I was told they would keep me on but transfer me to Southern California. As part of my relocation package, they would assist in my home sale, but they did not want me to have solar on the roof due to inspection liabilities that they would assume. For this reason, I began inquiring about a return on the products. After two months of back and forth with their customer service team on a return, I was told that my return was being flat out denied. I asked to speak with their COO HINESH PATEL about my situation. When he called, he acted as though he was "sympathetic" with my situation before a received an email the following day telling me they would not take back products that they still stock. I even offered to deliver the products back to Wholesale Solar myself. IAN SHURTLEFF CLASSIC BAIT AND SWITCH SALESPERSON DO NOT WORK WITH HINESH PATEL BIG TIME FAKER ACTING AS IF HE IS SYMPATHETIC AND CAN HELP OUT, ONLY TO HIDE BEHIND A "DENIAL" EMAIL. The only shining star that I interacted with at Wholesale Solar was Noelle McBride. She was always nice and helpful, but unfortunately, she works for a company that clearly does not value their customers. At this point, I am stuck with $15K of equipment that Wholesale Solar refuses to take back (even though they are stock items). The absolute WORST company to work with! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Great company with accurate estimates and great job performance and work products. We love our solar panels on our home. We sell the energy back and receive a check quarterly from the utility company.
