I've used them a few times already, and have found that they provide a very good access to hiring remote talent in Latam. The star rating is helpful for understanding skill level, and while the UI could use some improvement, rates are usually very attractive. My hack is to hire mid range prices (I stay away from the most expensive and the cheapest).
They charge a lot of fees, and if you pick the wrong freelancer and want a refund, they will not refund 100%. You as a costumer have to take all the risks and also pay a lot of fees. I lost 26 USD in the exercise because I got a freelancer that simply ghosted me after some days and I had to ask for a refund. They refunded but kept the fee. They could have kept the fee if I wanted to work with Workana again, but they lost a customer. Also their chat system is bad and hard to use.

I've been using Workana for over 7 years, it's a good platform for getting freelance work and doing it from home or wherever you want. They are fair with their rules, terms of use and policies, you need to pay close attention to this. But if you use them correctly, these rules end up being more beneficial for you. I recommend.
I've been using Workana for over 3 years, and it's a great platform for getting freelance work and working from wherever you want. I've never had a problem with my payments, I've always received them correctly and I think they're very fair.
The tip I leave for talents who, like me, are looking for jobs on the platform, is: "Keep your profile always updated and as complete and attractive as possible, as it is your CV within the platform and it is through it that clients and/or or projects will come to you."

Apart from my job, I have my own business. A co-worker recommended Workana to delegate some tasks. First I hired a girl from Mexico to help me with some designs and it turned out amazing (now we work together every month). Then I hired a guy who I pay hourly to help me with some recurring tasks. Just don't use Workana. If you are going to use it assure that is a good quality freelancer, because if there is a dispute or it's a scammer you will have to pay the fee.

I hired a freelancer named "Eric Lee" from Workana on 1 Dec 2022. He requested for the deposit he said his previous customers failed to pay after the job done. I paid 100% of the project fee to Workana and released 40% to Eric. After a period of time, he said he was not able to complete the project then disappeared. He did not even start to work on this project! I requested Workana to make a refund and Workana was only willing to refund the balance 60% of the project fee. As I made the payment via paypal, I opened the dispute case via it to request for a full refund but Workana turned down my request. The case was automatically closed on 14 Jan 2022 and I realised the refund amount was taken away by Workana! I sent an email to Workana and requested to have it back and finally it banned my account!

I enrolled in their portal like 2 months back. My profile is yet to be verified. And everytime they notify to pay some money to get the profile verified quicker! Really? 2 months?
Don't waste your time with this crap platform. Just go with Fiverr.
Hired 2 freelance designers here to provide A4 artwork for an advertisment. I first hired Hafsa Sulaiman and another subsequent hire was named Lê Huy.
Hafsa did provide her first drafts but not to my liking and I decided to provide her one sample for her to follow which she readily agreed. But she somehow subsequently she couldn't do it and withdrew. I then sought a refund which she agreed via arbitration. The conclusion to refund me 100% was made but it's now 2 weeks since and I have yet to see the money. And no communication whatsoever from Workana on the refund status. Seriously Workana?
And since I had issue with the first hire, I decided to hire a second designer hoping I will have better luck. Lighting cannot strike twice right? How wrong was I! Lê Huy was rejected by me initially (before I hired Hafsa) because I concluded he was not reliable based on my chat with him. He just didn't answer my questions well, or rather he completely ignores some questions. But after Hafsa's fiasco, and given that Lê Huy showed a desire to do my project by sending me another followup message, I thought perhaps I was wrong in my first impression. So I decided to hire him after he agreed to my terms to provide 2 drafts by 7 Jan and final artwork by 8 Jan. Come 7 Jan there was no sign at all from him despite me chasing and reminding him. He finally responded on 8 Jan saying he prefers to take his time to do it right. I could not believe what I read. He them sent 1 draft on the 8 Jan. So that was his idea of delivering me the final artwork on 8 Jan, completely skipping the 2 drafts on 7 Jan, leaving me no chance at all to review and comment coz it's was too late for me.
Obviously in his mind the agreed terms and deadline meant nothing. He was either stupid or couldn't understand english. Either way, he failed.
I initiated the arbitration (again!) and guess what? Its 16 Jan today and it's still in arbitration. I seriously believe Workana is a dead platform.
The amount of money I lost in these 2 hires will not kill me, but most definitely left a damn bitter taste for me. Never never ever with this stupid platform. I have used Fiverr for years and never have any issues there.
Just banned your account without justification, when yout try contact the support, it is terrible, worst plataform.

Yes you are right. Am the one who exposed hifreelancer.com and got is out of this planet complaining to cyber crime department.
Coming to workana i find things very fishy. The manner o DUMMY projects are posted and many copied from other freelancer sites. Same to same copy with different names and locations. No reviews / no replies / no communication at all.
Be aware of these site and never go for a paid version. Am keeping vigil about the activities online and shall keep you all posted with latest information.
If workana management can approach me for clarification will help to understand the scope of work. I may be wrong at some point but am 100% sure this is a sinking ship.
