If you are looking to purchase anything online from G. Gedney Godwin, Inc. and the Sutler of Mt. Misery, I advise that you save yourself the headache and shop elsewhere, as "Misery" is certainly a suitable name. I had placed my order on January 25th and have finally received it today, April 25th. The product itself is fine, but the business practices and poor communication of G. Gedney Godwin's is atrocious. After having received no updates on my order I had initially reached out through their website's contact page on February 16th. From there it required multiple attempts to contact them by support ticket and phone call to finally receive an emailed response in early-mid March that contained excuses and a promise that they would "definitely have [it] out this week." The week passed, as did another, again with no response to my attempts to communicate. At last I received another email, complete with more excuses that implied the product had never been in stock in the first place, and further statements that it would be sent within the next week. At the start of April, with there being still no shipment notification and still no response to my queries, I requested the order to be cancelled and refunded. To no one's surprise, I received no reply. I emailed and called, again, to request a cancellation. It was not until I reached out again, now to inform them that I would be disputing the order through my bank, that I at last received a response and a tracking number, despite my multiple requests to cancel the order. I received the product a week later. It's a nice piece, but by the time it was received it was no longer needed and now only serves as a reminder to never do business with G. Gedney Godwin again.
