Do not trust this awful company.
I was unhappy with Plusnet, because they always used to call with better deals and appreciated your custom and that is why I originally stayed loyal to them. After many years of being on contracts, I had foolishly allowed a contract to lapse, no call or email from Plusnet with an offer for a better contract and I was paying full price plus paying the line rental saver.
When I realised I was paying over the odds for my broadband I gave Plusnet a call. They offered a rubbish package with only a £5 saving for 18 month, in fact they first tried to tie me in for 24months, which was no good as new customers get a far better deal with line rental saver thrown in.
I almost went for it, but after a quick discussion with my husband, we decided against it.
I asked the representative to not to go ahead with the 18 month contract and cancel it as I felt I would prefer to leave when the line rental saver was almost up and not be penalised for leaving.
I have this call recorded thank goodness!
I have just received a bill for £102. They told me I was signed up to an 18 month contract! So even though they could see I was not receiving any reduction on my bill, they charged me the same amount as a non contract customer, then they have gone ahead and penalised me for leaving.
Off to the Ombudsman I go with my recording! I am disgusted with them, daylight robbers.
This company went downhill many years ago, poor customer service, rude staff, drop outs in connectivity, higher prices. I did not want to stay with them any longer, I think they are despicable trying to take penalty payments for a contract I was never on, never benefiting from any reduction in price, they are scoundrels.
If I was elderly, this would still be happening. You would think companies would tighten down on this bad practice, especially during the Covid tragedy. Yet they would seek to rip off a loyal customer of seven years.
I repeat, Do not trust this awful company.

We ordered some goods through Wickes, and the order was split, so some of it was being delivered by DX freight. We received a text from DX at 07:48 30/08/16 to say a delivery is on its way and this gave tracking details. I was in all day and tracked this all day with no change from 08:00 stating 'out for delivery from Bury.'
After 18:10 and it had not turned up I rang Wickes customer services and they told me that an attempt had been made at around 13:40? Well I was in all day and there was no knock at the door, no text, call, or update on tracking, so if they did try to deliver they must have stood outside without knocking. Wickes also told me that the driver had taken a photograph of my property, I asked for this but she said due to data protection they could not give me this photo. So I'm sorry but your alleged attempt at a first delivery is not being proven to me, and as I was in every second of yesterday I don't believe it.
So I waited in all day for nothing, and had to wait in most of today also. The delivery driver this time actually knocked at the door, so thankfully I have my delivery, although it has yet to be checked.
This driver quite frankly was rude, I asked if he tried to deliver yesterday and he said no, not me. He went on to say the problem is down to people ordering online... what the hell has that got to do with anything? Would he and his rude self have a job if people didn't order online? Probably not! I pointed out that if we all had huge vans we wouldn't need delivery companies... and you could all go bust! He did go on to tell me how many people order goods and then don't bother to be in to take delivery, well this is irrelevant as I was in all day yesterday. His demeanour was just rude and dismissive, he was being self righteous with his irrelevant comments and just ridiculous! I would not ever order from either Wickes or use DX ever again.
I think DX are an atrocious company who allow their staff to get away with whatever they want. Most delivery companies will provide a courtesy call to say a delivery is on the way when they get closer to your address. I think even Yodel who have had a bad name in the past have more decent people working for them. Never have I had such attitude from a driver, it begs belief how some people get work.
I checked late last night and the tracking details had still not changed, so what is the point in your tracking details? I have tracking details up in front of me now which haven't changed to say the item has been delivered. So for a start if they had not turned up again, I would again be non the wiser and sat waiting for delivery until 18:00. Secondly I sent an email to you last night and no one has bothered to contact me regarding this issue. I still would like to see the photo of my property from yesterday if that is possible?
I have actually done delivery driving in the past and mostly it is down to the discretion of the driver to give a courtesy call, so it goes to show there is no courtesy involved with DX. Also you are always told to ring a bell and knock loudly to make sure the person in their home hears the door from wherever they are and don't miss their delivery. I took two other deliveries yesterday, yours was the only one which did not turn up, or the driver didn't have the common sense to knock.
I think DX are awful.
