I accidentally tried to book a room at the Marriot on their site. The structure of the address made it seem like it was THE Marriott (as John P. 7/21/17 said, "They trick you into thinking their website is that of the hotel.") They offered FREE CANCELLATIONS within 24 hours. Immediately after I booked I realized I made a mistake and went to cancel and that's when they tried to tack on the "cancellation fee" of $278. There's a whole convoluted process of starting an account on ANOTHER website just to file a complaint. I'm working with my bank to recover the money as a fraud claim. I wish I'd have realized that I wasn't actually booking through the Marriott. (I looked to explore the profiles of who was giving this place 5 star ratings... all the "positive" reviews were very poorly written. Some profiles seemed made up (one female profile had a male user). ALL AROUND GARBAGE!

Tip for consumers: DONT! Cancellation is "free" before you book but after, you suddenly notice there is a $200+ fee. This is a scam... just book directly with your hotel.

DONT! So crooked are they, it can be confusing to know whose website actually booking with... getaroom, turns to reservations.com, to guestreservations.com...

I paid $150 for the consult to sit with Thomas Nicely (at the Trenton office). He said it sounded like I had a good case but he hadn't dealt with my type, but did have a colleague who did and he would recommend my case to him. 2 weeks later, he's "playing phone tag" with this "colleague." A week after that, same BS story. I asked if I could contact him and he said "he probably wouldn't talk to you." Now I'm starting to come to my senses, "If he's a colleague that you can't contact by phone, why not just EMAIL?" Also, if Nicely's going to tell his colleague that my case has merit, why wouldn't he talk to me directly versus getting hearsay from Nicely. I understand that their time is precious, hence the consult fee... but to have no answers, progress, or closure after a full month (no action from June 14th to today)? Sounds like a scam law-firm or just an incredibly sloppy individual. I hope he's a better lawyer than he is a liar!
