  • Demeter Fragrance

1/25/24

I've purchased from Demeter either two or three times now, after seeing them recommended by some sucreabeille (sp?) fans.

I'm super into gourmand fragrances at the moment, and ordered their cupcake spray and bath and body oil for myself for my birthday. They sent me a little rollerball of frozen pond as a bonus, and honestly all of them were incredible. I'm kind of shocked they could get frozen pond that spot-on.

Shipping took a little over two weeks, I believe, which, well, I'm not a patient person, but nothing was damaged at all- it was very very well packaged to prevent breakage- and I truly think a few weeks is totally reasonable.

Every item I've purchased gets used by someone in my household- nothing from them has gone to waste yet

  • 1-800 Flowers

Decided to order myself flowers for my birthday, and, since it's been a hard year, I got myself the premium bouquet.

What arrived isn't worth half of what I paid. The website showed lillies and other beautiful flowers. What I got was already old roses, daisies, carnations and filler. A bouquet of roses would have been closer in terms of price.

I'm not exaggerating when I say the grocery store has better bouquets. In retrospect, I probably could've found a way to have them deliver, too.

  • ThriftBooks

7/27/23

Went online to find a book in a series I've been reading, the Amazon website wanted an outrageous amount, so I used the search engine.

Thriftbooks was one of the results. They had the book I needed used for almost exactly 1/2 the price listed on the cover of the new ones, and a 10th of what was listed on Amazon at the time.

I was nervous, so I used PayPal to give me a layer of protection, but ultimately didn't need it. The book arrived today, perfectly readable though not likely to be mistaken for brand new. It took about 5 days to ship, and about a week and a half to arrive via usps. They included an inexpensive book mark, which are always in short supply in my house.

Bought these the first time when they went viral on the clock app. I was skeptical, but figured it was worth a shot.

The sensation takes some getting used to at first. I don't think it's much like pop rocks candy, but I like it much better than that. It's less intense, and definitely makes my mouth water. It's been great for my dry mouth issues, which also helps prevent bad breath on top of the mint, cinnamon, etc options they have.

I have very severe anxiety and claustrophobia, and have used these to help me get through MRIs, crowded places and other difficult situations. I can't explain why they help, but they do seem to take the edge off a bit. In addition to whatever else works for you, they're fantastic.

Already placed a second order, and I'm certain I'll place a third. The cinnamon ginger ones are my favorite, but the lemon ones are perfect if you're looking for intensity.

Tip for consumers:
Place them between the gum line and your cheek the first time- it'll prevent it from being it's most intense.

You can buy these using the shop app if you're not comfortable using their site, but I've done both without incident

I've made at least four separate purchases from MF, though one was to replace an item I had lost.

I just received my most recent order, and it's gorgeous. I now have two pairs of earrings, both Medusa style, and the first pair has lasted me roughly five years and still going strong. I ordered a limited run in a different color with moons on them, as well.

I get a ton of compliments on the earrings, but love the glasses/mask chains they sell, as well, and have those in two colors, too.

I've never had a bad experience, and the packaging this time was downright gorgeous.

Tip for consumers:
I usually buy from her through the shop app. I believe I've purchased directly through the site, but there are other options, depending on what you're comfortable with.

I had been referred to this card/personal loan through a popular credit rating site/app (yes, that one). Thinking this meant they were trustworthy, I went ahead, cuz, hey, good for my credit rating, right?

On four different occasions, I have been notified that, despite making the monthly payments automatically, I was suddenly and inexplicably delinquent for exactly one cent, and couldn't use the card until that was sorted out. I've never been given an explanation as to why this keeps happening. This month, they pulled my automatic payment twice, for the exact same amount, two days apart, and I was just notified they attempted to pull it a third time several weeks later. I'm expecting to get notified of a NSF fee ($30) because it didn't go through, even though I never authorized a second or third payment, and they already got double what they should have.

I'm a disabled veteran on a limited income, I can't just pick up an extra shift to cover the unexpected expenses. I'm hard of hearing, so every time I have to call these people to sort this out, it's a headache to say the least. I truly wish i hadn't accepted this offer.

Tip for consumers:
Expect to have to watch your account like a hawk. Make a secondary account to get the automatic payments taken from so that it won't affect your other bills.

So, I was trying to make my first purchase from another, more well-known skincare service and I guess I clicked the wrong link at some point.

I go through the quiz process, etc, thinking it's this other site. I click purchase and then the banner pops up with the brand name and I immediately respond to the confirmation email, letting them know I didn't mean to purchase this, and would like to cancel. I did this within minutes, possibly seconds, of ordering.

I get an automated response saying it could take up to 2 business days to respond. Of course they've already pulled out the discounted price of $40 from my account.

I check my Shop app, and the amount says $200, not $40. I realize they're going to take the other $160 from my account at some point, though I didn't realize this was what I was signing up for, and have no way to log into their site to manage my account with them.

24 hours later, I get a response to my email that, basically, they don't do returns, refunds or cancelations. Full stop- they don't allow you to return or exchange or cancel FOR 3 MONTHS.

So they're going to attempt to take just shy of $200 from me for an accidental order and they don't take PayPal so I can't even dispute it with them, I'll have to discuss it with my bank and see what they can do to help me.

Tip for consumers:
Buyer beware, they're gonna get every dime they can from you

I'm not sure if this company changed ownership/management but something is drastically different about their customer service currently, for the worst.

I've made one or two purchases from them in the past, and it turned out alright. One had to be resized locally because the sizing was nearly a full size smaller than I had ordered.

Just purchased a ring Set recently (21 January 2022) and, as usual, was notified it could take up to 21 days. On day 21, with zero further communication, I realized my login info no longer worked on their site- I couldn't even check the status of my $200 order. Changing password didn't work. I contacted their customer service, no response.

So I put in a report with PayPal to attempt to get my money back. Today, 25 days after my order, I finally heard from them. They blamed me for the delay because of "custom sizing" (aren't all sizes custom? I picked one they offered) and said I needed to cancel the report through PayPal and only then would they send it.

This all feels very questionable to me, and at no time was I told there would be a delay beyond the already extensive 21 days before it even ships, then who knows how long before it arrives from China.

It wasn't a great experience before, but it really feels like I'm being scammed this time around.

Tip for consumers:
Better to skip this one, at least until they stabilize their practices, or get less sketchy.

Jeulia J. – Jeulia Rep

Hi, thanks for all the feedback and your support always. We are the same Jeulia as before. Sorry about the way your issue was handled. Providing you with the best shopping experience is very important to us, so we always try our best to respond to support requests as quickly as possible. But due to the unprecedented volume increases for Valentine's Day, we fail to properly respond to a few, and some orders delayed. The reason we ask to cancel the report just because your order was holding by PayPal and we can not operate your order from our system. Sincerely hope for your understanding. We know we need to do better and hope you will give us another chance. We have already sent your order out by UPS and the ETA delivery date is Tomorrow, February 17 by 7:00 P.M. Hope you like it. Thanks and sorry again.
