I have been choosing to shop at Target over Walmart lately b/c it is generally more pleasant and provides higher customer service. I also have a long time Redcard account w/auto shipments. Last night I made a simple purchase and wanted to be in and out, as I am having a knee issue which makes prolonged standing painful. After standing in line once, the cashier made a simple mistake and overcharged me by about $10. She recognized this, but unlike when this happens at say the grocery store, she insisted I wait in another line for returns! After doing so, and explaining that I didn't see why I had to wait in 2 lines for their mistake, and explaining my medical challenge, the 2nd cashier made no eye contact, no real apology, and mindlessly mumbled have a nice night as I walked off. Ofcourse, they don't know me personally, however I am a customer, w/other shopping options, AND some concern could be shown for how I was inconvenienced, no? BTW, the last time I shopped here the absent minded cashier knocked over my glassware purchase, which unlike all my other glassware purchases, I had to then wrap myself, and overcharged me as well.
Again I choose Target, b/c I want better service than Walmart. What is going on here?
