I have been a freecycler for over a year now and have kept many things out of landfills as a result. If you are setting up housekeeping, it is a great place to post your wants. If you are downsizing, a wonderful way to empty out the clutter. I have been on both sides of the freecycle model many times and have met some great people and had much luck doing both the giving and the receiving. Give it a try!

Site is fraudulent. Once you pay for auction *tokens* it is nearly impossible to win. Each bid extends the time length of the auction. I asked for a refund and cannot get access to the site to make my request. I am sending request by mail and going through my credit card company to receive a full refund. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS SITE. Ripoff and a scam.
